Walked in bright and early today, not sure what I was looking for. Hubby had a bday yesterday, but due to covid, they were closed on monday (limited hours). The lady I spoke with was very helpful. The bakery smelled amazing! I ended up getting a jumbo german chocolate cupcake, regular red velvet cupcakes, banana pudding cupcake, carrot cake, and a turtle brownie. Total was around 20 bucks. Everything was tasty! Glad I don't live closer, or I'd be big as a house. Cake was moist, icing was sweet but not sickeningly so. Brownie was loaded with pecans. Seems like everything is baked daily. Today I had the most romantic lunch at Sweet Brown Suga. This small bakery shop was beautifully decorated with Valentine hearts. I had ordered a delicious breakfast sandwich, Ham and Swiss in a croissant for $4.99. The ham was thick and the cheese was melted. I am most delighted with our server who was sweet and cheerful. Zero ability to iron out an order mess-up. As a regular customer I ordered desserts for a meeting (had ordered exact same selection before). When I arrived it was incorrect. The teenage/college girl working had no idea what to do to remedy the problem. I told her what would fix it. She started to do it,but wanted to charge me more money after I had already paid the total.I said no. She and another employee took the order to the back to "fix", but they never returned. After waiting, I called out to the kitchen that I had to leave, could wait no longer and I would deal with owner later on the bill. Now owner won't return my call, and another owner from sister store, says she cannot help me. Hard to swallow as a regular customer and after seeing that these women announce their Christianity in local newspaper articles. Sad ownership. read more

Disappointed. I live close by and I finally stopped inside and honestly I could've saved my $9. The two bite tomato quiche just tasted like pure cheese and fat. The vegan carrot cupcake was more of a bread texture than an actual cupcake. Frosting was OVERLY SWEET and overpowered the cupcake it self. It honestly tasted as if I ate a spoon full of powdered sugar. Cashier was very nice. Two boys in the back seemed nice although they did not greet me or anything they just stared at me when they walked out and didn't say anything. Maybe it's just me because I've worked in food service for so long but if I make eye contact with someone I would at least say hello. Space was very clean. Display looked nice. I was delighted to be able to buy a last minute birthday cake on Grubhub. The bakery called me and asked if I wanted customizations and what was fresh. I expected something good but it exceeded our expectations. It had that special from scratch taste. I got marble with buttercream and they bonus decorated it with pink icing and edible glitter. I needed to take a small thank you gift to a client and installer so I visited this local bakery in an effort to support a small local business. When I arrived I noticed that they have a very large inventory of baked goods sitting out open to the air, which I thought was a bit strange, but I proceeded with an order of their Butter Bars in assorted flavors, a box for my client, another for my installer, and one for myself. At almost $5 per bar, I had high expectations, mainly that I was purchasing freshly baked treats. Unfortunately for me, this was not the case. I broke into my bar on the drive to my installation, and I'm very glad I did. It was very dry, and had a stale taste. So I thought, I'd try a different flavor (lemon) from one of the other boxes, and it was even worse, dry, stale, and the lemon flavoring used had a chemical taste. I'm always willing to give the benefit of the doubt, so I called the shop to let them know my experience, and the man who answered argued that he had "just" tasted one and it was not dry or stale. Hmmm, okay lesson learned. I could not give this as a thank you to anyone, so I threw them away. Over $50 worth of baked goods in the trash! read more

I decided to order my. cake from this place because it is a black Christian business. I ordered a custom cake and requested a marble cake with buttercream frosting purple polka dots . They wanted a picture when I called so I found one and sent along with my order. I got a cake with inedible flowers which I didnt ask for and a happy birthday sign not in writing. I ate a piece and it was the nastiest cake i ever ate. After the first bite i knew it was not buttercream. To describe the cake had a gummy outside with a whipped cream inside and the middle tasted of store bought buttercream. The cake itself was dry and salty. Since this was not what I ordered, I took it back the next day. The lady that did it said i sent a picture of a fondant cake. How was I supposed to know that I am not a baker. They said when I got the cake I should have known. I simply requested a store credit. They refused and said I should dispute with my credit card. I had a very awkward and weird experience here today... I went in and asked for a 18 sugar cookies. Which I feel like isn't the most outlandish request at a bakery. The reaction from the girl taking my order seemed so surprised I was like hmm ok... she goes to the back and then comes out and says we only have a dozen & can do 4 snickerdoodle. I said that's fine. I also order a white mocha coffee- right off the menu. She comes back and says actually we only have 11 sugar... at this point I've already paid so I'm like well toss in another snickerdoodle! I wait about 5 minutes and they bring the cookies out. No coffee. Still very awkward. I'm wondering at this point if I have something weird on my face bc they're all staring at me. So I continue waiting for my coffee... 5 min. 10 min. I can see two employees whispering and looking st me. The owner? Comes out and says it will be right out. Ok great. I'm assuming it's being microwaved at this point, which is odd buttttt like I said I'm invested at this point. FINALLY the coffee comes out. I was like ok thanks, bee line for the door. Get to the car and realize that I'd asked for plain sugar cookies and they all have sprinkles on them. ‍ Fail. Oh well. I spent $46 dollars and I'm not going back now. I am a professionally trained pastry chef and have worked in a 5 star 5 diamond resort's pastry shop and I have very high standards ( so much so that we didn't even have a wedding cake at our wedding because I knew no one could meet my standards lol), but we LOVEEEE Sweet Brown Suga! I went in on a Tuesday I bought a slice of quiche, upside down pineapple cake, and banana pudding cheesecake. Fruit comes with the quiche. I noticed later the mold was on the fruit so I contacted the bakery by email just to inform them of the mold. No response so I called a couple of days later. Spoke to the owner and she informed me they never got the email. The conversation took an awful turn in tone from the owner. So I was told that the fruit is complementary which means to me it's free so why are you complaining‍ I was then asked so how do you want to be compensated? In a tone that means to me "what is that you want from us" I was NOT asking for any compensation I was only informing them. The conversation became debatable from the "on of the owners " I was also told by her that they don't make the fruit. Since she was offering. I Would have liked for to offer just maybe an apology and thanks for the information and not a debate. Needless to say I won't be back and I would not recommend this bakery. read more

They have fresh salads and soups. My favorites are the veggie sandwich and the Low Country soup that is only available on Fridays. The restaurant has become a hub for the local socialites. This is a great neighborhood bakery in the Grayson, Ga area. They are known for their cakes, cupcakes and assortment of sweet treats. They make hot and cold deli sandwiches as well. The lemonade is refreshing and sweet. The ooey gooey bar is so delicious and sweet of course. Also, I had the tuna melt and it was one of the best tuna melts because of the consistency of the ingredients used in the sweet. This place does everything perfect when it comes to a hot or cold lunch meal and sweet deserts to satisfy your sweet tooth if you have one. Delightful and delicious! I tried the bakery today after looking around and "nope" -ing all the usual places around town. I wanted some real good food, not big chain food. I went into Sweet Brown Suga after reading reviews online and it exceeded my expectations. I got the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant, pasta salad, and a strawberry cupcake for lunch. The chicken salad sandwich was AWESOME. That's easily the best one in town, in my opinion, and I used to love Zoey's version. The pasta salad was delicious and creamy. My lunch also came with a cupcake, and the strawberry cupcake looked tasty. Now I have to give a small critique, because not everything can be perfect right? Since the cupcake was in a refrigerator display, the cake was a little harder than I expected. That being said, the taste was outstanding. I'm one of those icing snobs who will take all of it off because it's too sugary most of the time. Not this icing. This icing was perfection. Fluffy, light, pure deliciousness. I ordered a dozen cupcakes for a special event. I chose to purchase the large ones. They weren't large. Slightly bigger than a regular cupcake. Total for cakes was $44 and they charge for using your card so my total was $47, for 12 cupcakes. So needless to say I'm expecting a beautiful cupcake with nice decoration and great taste. It was not this at all. Cake was mediocre at best and the top of the cupcake was lacking much luster. Very much overpriced for what ya get. Publix are bigger and of if the same quality. My husband and I visited here today for the first time and purchased a mini vanilla bean macaroon, mini vanilla on vanilla cupcake, and a giant sandwich cookie. It was around $9 and well worth the price! Everything was fresh and delicious. The icing on the cupcake was light, and the icing on the cookie was sweeter and heavier (as I prefer for a cookie sandwich!). The owner's sister greeted us and explained what everything was. I asked if they always had this big of a variety of items every day and she said yes, her sister is always cooking and replenishing the numerous types of treats we saw including mini pecan pies, wedding cookies, thumbprint cookies, brownies, and butter bars. There was even a sandwich cookie that had a brownie in between TWO layers of icing and TWO cookies! They called it a Bookie, which is adorable. To top it all off they serve sandwiches, quiche, and sides as well as a different food special each day. Today was a Cobb Wrap. They make specialty cakes upon request which are displayed around the shop. There is ample seating and privacy for a small group in the back of the cafe. It is family friendly, and the color scheme is super cute! It has a rustic vibe and they turned this old frozen yogurt shop around. The wall where the frozen yogurt dispensers used to be is now a wall of windows where their cakes are displayed (clever!). I asked if they charged to use their more private table for my accessories business and meeting potential customers and she said no, come on in and sit wherever you like, we welcome and want people to come here for that purpose!
