The tiramisu was good, i can definitely taste the tiramisu in my drink. The strawberry mochi is interesting, probably not my favorite because of the mochi texture inside my drink. However, if you like mochi, i'm sure you'll love it! The downside is the portion size. Considering the price is about $5-$6 ish, I felt like the size could be a little bit bigger to match their competitors. Only 3 stars for the ice cream. Matcha Float 2/10 $7.57 after tax - the ice cream was the only redeeming factor - matcha latte per was not sweet so you kind of have to mix the ice cream in for more of a creamy flavor. - the matcha latte was watered down Overall, the drink is a MISS for me. The ice cream is pretty good though. If I were to come back in the future I'd get their ice cream and steer clear from their drinks. You order and pay on a tablet in the front. SUPER CUTE! Wouldn't have known it was there if it wasn't for OTMC. I hear Colorado and boba and assume old town. Though it's not in old town, depending on the time, it can be v chaotic around that area. Smart location on their part. I went in the evening and classes aren't back in person yet so all good. Loved the presentation walking up. So many delicious options on the menu, super cute patio in the back and the guy working was a sweetie. Long day, didn't get his name but he was tall, thin and had rectangular framed glasses. He was accommodating and kind. We came here tonight because I was craving some dessert. The wait was a little long but thats because there was an extremely large family in front of us that took some time to order - which is no problem. You put your name and phone number into an iPad and order through there as well. It's really really simple - I was most surprised to see that you can add up to 27 toppings onto your tiny ice cream cup haha! I got the Milky Honey Cube and it was really good! The soft serve was vanilla and not overly sweet. The honey was also a good additional sweetener and I loved the honey cube that was on top of my swirl! My boyfriend got the Black Pearl and it looked so good - he really enjoyed it and finished it super quickly on our walk home. I really like this place but it's severely understaffed and you will be waiting a while. I came in on mother days afternoon and there was only one guy working. So one person, handling 4 delivery tablets, cashier, and making orders... like seriously management?!?!?! Anyway I ordered the moon wheel cakes, one of each flavor (boba milk tea and custard), matcha float, peach oolong tea, and uji matcha latte with cheese foam. The moon wheel cakes were okay. The custard was better than the milk tea flavor as the milk tea flavor tasted very artificial. The matcha float was pretty good, however I feel that they add a bit too much ice. The ice cream was pretty good though. The uji matcha latte was also very good. You could tell the matcha is very good quality matcha. Overall I recommend this place but I would probably come on a weekday instead. It gets very busy and can be very understaffed. We did see 2 more workers come in sometime during the time we were dining in, but it was too late as there should have been more than one person working on a holiday weekend. Husband and I were craving a milkshake, however because we were away from home we decided to look up a dessert place and try something new! That's when we came across Milkcow Cafe. We ordered the cookies and cream and a honey boba soft serve. Servings are smaller than you might think. But the richness and sweetness, there is no way I could have eaten more than what was given. The cookies and cream is pretty traditional. But great none the less. The honey boba is on a whole other level. Warm, richness, and soft boba was great. I would definitely order it again if I ever was back in the area. No outdoor seating. But we were able to enjoy our desserts parked in the car since it was 1hr parking in the front. A good boba place with some unique drinks! I ordered the mochi strawberry milk tea, 25% sweet and less ice, and my partner got the dirty boba milk, 75% sweet and less ice. I enjoyed the flavor of my strawberry tea and the sweetness was perfect for me, as someone who is very sensitive to overly sweet drinks. The mochi is very interesting! I was expecting small chewy bits of mochi, but it was a super soft liquidy pudding consistency. I would've preferred more chew in the mochi, but it grew on me over time. The cheese foam on top was not bad, but was not super flavorful either. My partner liked his boba milk, and said that the boba was slightly hard but still within the realm of well-cooked boba. First visit from a different city- The ambiance was great, music wasn't too loud, equipment and staff were quiet! The lighting and decor are instagrammable and the place is overall clean. The COVID-19 procedure is as follows: Place an order online or on the kiosk inside (masks required). Get a text when your order is ready, go inside and pick it up. No lingering inside; the tables are roped off. There was a bit of a line when we arrived so we did have a small wait for our desserts to be ready, but it was definitely worth the wait. Although the watermelon slice with watermelon soft serve inside (watermelon "sandwich") looked really cool and is very instagram worthy (their signature item at $7.95), I decided that it was more for show than for taste and opted for the watermelon smoothie. This was a blend of vanilla soft serve, watermelon soft serve, and small pieces of fresh watermelon. It can be drunk through a straw or eaten with a spoon. Very very refreshing, and the perfect amount of sweetness. No artificial taste to the watermelon soft serve. I also had a bite of the dirty boba soft serve which was pretty outstanding. You also have the option to pre-order online at https://www.clover.com/online-ordering/milkcow-pasadena Pay with the card reader next to it and head back outside and stare intently through the window when you think your order is ready. (I mean, they said to keep checking back every so often and it'll be in the pick up area but if there's multiple people with the same order, might be difficult? No idea so just stare LOL). I had originally wanted to try their wheel cakes and had tried calling in to order but was told that they weren't making them during coronavirus (probably due to the waiting times I would presume). So next best, wait for their watermelon sandwich, which is a bigger slice of watermelon with a middle section taken out and replaced by ice cream. Seeds are also replaced with chocolate chips. Kinda cool eh? I'd thought so. But then I realized... kinda have to eat this like...now. So eat I shall! Their soft serve is good. Creamy, sweet, and refreshing. The watermelon is well... watermelon. Don't really think you need me to tell how their watermelon is unless you're in Japan and getting those square watermelons. Spoiler alert: not those hahahaha. Milk cow cafe offers drinks and soft serve ice cream. Probably there most signature item is the watermelon slice with soft serve ice cream in the middle. I can't to wait to try that next time. The menu is great so many items and things you will want to try for your first visit. I decided upon the watermelon smoothie and tiramisu milk tea. The watermelon smoothies was pretty refreshing it had watermelon, blended ice and cream. Really great drink for the summer. The tiramisu milk tea I thought was alright pretty standard. I do like that that there are still a couple of drinks that I'm looking to try for my next visit. Great location inside, only wish I could sit down sometime after COVID is gone, gone, gone. A while back, I was picking my son up from a band lesson, when we passed an interesting looking ice cream store I hadn't noticed before near Pasadena City College named Milkcow. And, despite this place being notoriously busy with little parking, there was a spot right out front. I did a U-turn (shhhhh!), and parked. Then I hit Yelp to even find out what Milkcow was. When I saw their seasonal watermelon sandwich, I had to have it. So in we went. Service was very friendly. The kiddo had Cookies n Cream soft serve with cotton candy on top, loving it. But, OMG! You have to go over summer to try the Watermelon Sandwich. It's a large slice of fresh watermelon, which they cut a slice out of the middle and stuff with watermelon soft serve ice cream. The seeds in the sides of the watermelon are actually chocolate chips. You eat the whole thing. You might feel guilty, but it is totally worth it. Go get it! Go! Get! It! read more

Ever since the photos of Milkcow's popular watermelon dessert started trending over Instagram, I've been wanting to visit to try some of the dessert items myself. Unfortunately the watermelon dessert is only offered during watermelon season (summer months), but they do have a variety of desserts and drinks that can satisfy any sweet tooth! They're located pretty much across from PCC. There's limited street parking, so I'd recommend residential parking if possible. Storefront is also quite small - there's several tables and a cute bench area (perfect for pictures). Very aesthetically pleasing color scheme. Besides the various teas, smoothies, and cheese teas, they also have soft serve with various toppings, as well as wheel cakes. We tried a regular classic milk tea with boba ($4.50, free topping from Yelp check-in since cotton candy was not available). The drink comes in a small cup - for the price you pay, I do think the size of the drink is a lot smaller. But the flavor of the milk tea was pretty good. Not too sweet, had a good combination of both milk and tea flavor, and the boba had the perfect amount of chewiness and flavor to add to the drink. I'm a big fan of milk soft serve - especially when Honeymee first started the trend. I ordered the Milky Honey ($4.95 for soft serve with some natural honey). I thought it was really refreshing and tasted really good. Maybe because I haven't had it in awhile, but the soft serve was creamy and milky with the perfect amount of sweetness; the natural honey added to it allowed for a different kind of sweetness that I thought blended well together. I would definitely order this again. We also tried the Moo Wheel Cake, which is similar to an obanyaki, but cooked a little differently. If you order the wheel cake, I do recommend calling ahead of time because it takes around fifteen minutes or so before they're ready. These are cooked to order, so they have to fire up the grill when you order. You can only buy them in orders of two or four (2 for $4.75 or 4 for $8.50). We opted for two and tried the boba and cream cheese custard. Obanyakis are usually made in one of the skillet pans, where it's flipped over so both sides are cooked. The wheel cakes here are cooked on separate pans, coming together to form a solid sandwich to seal the middle topping together. My sister was a little wary about the cream cheese custard, but it actually tasted just like custard. I think maybe with the cream cheese, the filling was a little on the sweeter side, but I liked it. The batter of the cake itself was not too sweet and was crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. We all ended up enjoying this flavor. As for the boba milk tea wheel cake, I think the idea sounded pretty interesting, but the overall execution with the boba flavor inside - was not very good. I wasn't a fan of the milk tea flavor inside the wheel cake; tasted a little strange and having the boba inside of the cake was odd. It was a little chewy but also kind of dry, especially when you're chewing it with the wheel cake. It was interesting to try, but I wouldn't order this again. Workers were pretty friendly and didn't mind answering our questions. This place seems to be more of a take-out place, so customers were in and out within minutes. A lot of the teas are premade as well, so drinks were made quickly. They also offer a stamp card or reward program, so definitely take advantage of that! tl;dr - A very cute dessert place in Pasadena; most of the items that we tried were pretty solid. Came here a few weeks ago and I'm still dreaming about the amazing soft serve I had here! It's that good. I came here on a Saturday in the late afternoon and the shop was mostly empty. Score! I decided to get the dirty boba soft serve since the idea of having boba with soft serve ice cream sounded super appealing. It comes with house brown sugar, brown sugar boba, and a sugar cone on top. The soft serve was soft and creamy and the flavor was almost caramel-y. The boba had just the right consistency - soft and chewy. It was very satisfying on the hot summer day we were there. We sat outside in the cute little patio area in their back parking lot and enjoyed our treats (soft serve for me and a matcha drink for my partner). The matcha was decent, but I definitely liked the soft serve better. The only downside for my dessert was that it melted really quickly and because they were so generous with the serving size, it was incredibly messy to eat and dripped all over our table (don't worry, I made sure to clean it up). They have interesting signage on their walls that provides background on the brand and their ingredients. For example, I learned that Milkcow started in 2013 and they have more than 50 locations in over 15 countries. And their matcha is sourced directly from Japan. Pretty cool. I was more than excited to try this place out Location: It is across from Pasadena City College. It is between a Book Store and Pho place. Parking is available along the street for 2 hours Place has only limited inside seating. Most people were just standing outside on the sidewalk or taking it to go I was lucky to score a seat inside. My watermelon slice was not too sweet. The area where watermelon have their seeds, they swap it for dark chocolate chips. In between the watermelon, they put in homemade soft serve.
