Tea Spots is located at 1443 East Colorado Boulevard Pasadena California 91106. It is located in a small group of stores just east of the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and Hill Avenue. There are three small eateries and a nail salon located here. An adequate parking lot is located in front of these stores. Upon entering tea spots I was greeted by a friendly hello. I walked to the counter and asked questions about the types of food that they had available. The staff described a variety of selections. They are definitely more than just tea and smoothies. They have what they call 'snacks' on a large menu. These are more than snacks, they are full meals. I decided on some Ramen and Potstickers. I was impressed that they asked me exactly how I wanted things prepared. Spice levels were a prime consideration, so I decided on medium spicy. As I waited on my order, I looked at their beverage menu that was filled with different Boba coffees, teas and slushies. There are also quite a number of items on the menu that I want to try with different styles of preparation. After about 10 minutes my food was ready and I was out the door and on my way home. They do have areas inside this location to dine inside. When I unpacked my food at home, I was pleased to see how carefully it had been put together. They had everything individually wrapped. I was eager to try the potstickers first. The Pork Potstickers were delicious. Great flavor and moist with a crisp outside edge. The Japanese Miso Ramen wes filled with flavor and spice. This is my go-to boba tea and food spot near PCC. I usually love coming during their happy hour because they have great deals on tea, shaved ice, and their bowls. Recently, I got an email saying they now have new sizzling plates, and I couldn't wait to try them. They offer four different sizzling plates, and I went with the beef fried noodles. Honestly, it's not the best--the flavor is a bit off, but I was really hungry so I ate about half. It's okay after adding some Sriracha, but I wouldn't order it again. I have been coming here since this is the quickest Taiwanese food joint near my house so it's easy to order via grubhub or thru the app. I usually go in since it's a little cheaper and more option in the drinks. I usually order the Taiwanese sausage fried rice with chrysanthemum tea. It seems now the food is extra salty especially the veggies and the ground meat on the rice. I have to dilute it with the tea. Needed a pick me up drink for the ride home aka sitting in traffic on the 210. I remembered this "tea spot" was here so decided to try a drink from here. Self service ordering is available so i can take my time to figure out what i want to order. There was a special for the red bean and milk drink and it was 50% off. I added the sea salt crème to top it off. This drink had lots of ice and red bean that it reminded me of the Filipino dessert halo halo except missing so many ingredients lol. Place is clean. Parking is tight in the lot. Really did not interact with staff besides the drink hand off at the counter. I may return if I'm able to find parking in the lot. When I am in the mood for a honey green hot tea, or a decent bowl of soup, I go here. They have numerous boba, teas, soup, and chicken plates, etc., to select from. Great place to grab something fast. The only thing I do not like is the parking and the indoor seating. The parking is very difficult and sometimes you just leave because it's nowhere to park. I'm disappointed and I don't recommend it to anyone, it's very impolite and rude to customers, I got this impression, every time the service is getting worse. First time trying out Tea Spots! It's a 5 minute drive or 9 min walk from PCC. There is a little parking lot in front, however, it's hard to find parking since it seems to be always full and the spots are a little tight. Inside the store is nice and cool! Perfect temp as it is super hot this summer. It's dim inside so it makes it a little more private. I got the crispy chicken snack (extra ranch), sweet potato fries, and Thai milk tea, which came out to be $25.99. (I had substitutes and add ons) Crispy Chicken Snack: I didn't get the spicy flavor. But it still lacked flavor or seasoning. And when dipped in ranch, it gave me this aftertaste that's a bit different from other ranch I'm used to. Maybe next time I'll try spicy. It is crispy but tender on the inside. They don't have popcorn chicken, I think this is it. They are bigger than a typical popcorn chicken. Sweet Potato Fries: Another item I should have chosen another flavor of. I chose the unseasoned one over the sugar coated one. And I can barely taste the sweet potato in it. Maybe that's just me! One of those boba shops that reminds me of the og quickly or tapioca express in like the early 2000s-2010s in the best way possible, except more small business type of vibe. Good food and seriously good value. The minced pork rice is only $8 so I thought it would be like a small portion. That thing is GINORMOUS. The other food is pretty good too, and honestly just really can't beat the price. For a tea shop they have such an extensive food menu as well. The drinks are yummy but actually I kind of like their coffee and smoothies more than the milk teas. If you want like really amazing boba and care about tea quality this isn't really the place cuz nowadays there are so many trendy places in Pasadena and SGV that specialize in that but it's also like $8 or $9 for one drink there and is just a different vibe. Tea spots has such reasonable prices and the best part is how many tables they have. I've never had a problem with seating and the other great thing is that they're open until 11 pm. And also the staff are super friendly. Most places will start kicking you out at like 10:50 pm but the staff here will sometimes let you stay until like 11:10 after they've closed since they're still cleaning up anyways. They have outlets underneath the seat running along the entire booth, it is the best thing ever. WiFi is hit or miss but you'd expect that in any public place to be honest. I came around at 10 PM to satisfy some boba cravings. They have a very extensive menu, and everyone would probably find something they like. They also have a tone of snack foods and meals as well. I had to pick up the popcorn chicken, of course. There was no basil flavor that I was used to and the breading was kind of thick. There was also definitely a kick to it (I asked for it spicy) which I appreciate. Wasn't the most amazing popcorn chicken I've ever had, but definitely satisfied the late night munchies. They are my neighbor and I'm so glad we have this restaurant in our neighborhood. I came here so many times. They have great food options, I tried pork chop, boba and shaved ice many times. For their price I have nothing to complain, only suggestion is if they can have move fruits or toppings options for shaved ice will be good. Compared to many tea station restaurants nearby they have many employees, during my visit around 8:30 pm I saw 4 employees outside (I don't know how many people in the kitchen) so must of time they can have your orders ready pretty fast. However, I was pretty unhappy with the drink. I'm not sure if it was just the day, but my drink had an unpleasant aftertaste (metallic?) every sip I took. The boba initially was pretty good: I believe they use honey-boba, so there is some taste when you chew them, and the texture was not bad (a little soft). However, eventually this aftertaste seeped into the boba as well. This is probably the second time in my life I could not finish my boba drink. I would consider trying this place again just because the price is amazing compared to everywhere else at this point in time, Maybe if you get 100% sugar it would cover up that aftertaste. But, to me, if the quality stays the same (I wouldn't want to jack up the sugar in my boba drinks), I would not suggest this place for boba. read more

Terrible tea and the place is filth. Right after making my order I saw a small cockroach crawling on the wall. Yikes, not a good sign. And to top it off the drinks watered down and flavorless. I ordered the Thai tea with boba and it literally tasted like water with some flavor and food coloring. My friend got a Vietnamese coffee which should have been good because it's really hard to mess up Vietnamese coffee, yet it tasted very bitter and old. Also, to top it off, we ordered light ice for both the drinks and the woman who gave us our drinks told me that they gave the coffee extra room because we ordered less ice. I don't know why this place is trying to penny pinch like that, I don't think and extra half inch of drink would have really cost that much especially since it literally tasted like instant coffee. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, they were attentive. The seating area was nice, the bench along the wall was comfortable to sit on. I came to work on my laptop, so it was important that the seating was comfortable. I was very happy to see that there were electric sockets all along the wall, which is very important for people who want to work on writing or studying. The music the played was Taiwanese pop/hip-hop, very appropriate. The only thing I have a problem with, a lot of the surfaces felt sticky. They have a screen for ordering, and the screen was sticky. The tables were sticking, and in fact even after I used water to wipe it myself, it was still a little sticky, meaning the stickiness is built up over time, and not just a recent spill.
