New in town & state & needed a new set asap! Two days in a row, these guys were packed (this was even during the middle of the week!), so I tried the 3rd day & I finally got in. (Had to see what the fuss was about.) Lee was my guy! It was different to see so many men, working at a salon. It was a nice change. Sloppiest gel manicure of my life. Stopped in at lunch as I was having a watch repaired near by. Should have read other reviews first. Polish all over the skin at the top of my fingers and not refined at my cuticles. Bubbled and not even. Took over 1.5 hours-- avoid at all costs. read more

I just moved to the area. Where i normally go it's $30 for a full service pedicure including scrubbing and removing dead skin from my feet and heals. This place tried to upsell me to $55. You must be joking. I guess in Overland Park it's different. Compared to my Grandview location. It was worth the try and my heals weren't too bad but still could have been better. I'll keep this place as a back up. read more

I love going to Sweet D Nails in Overland Park! Every time I visit, they get me in quickly and do an amazing job. The salon is always clean and welcoming. Dee especially is fantastic -- she gave me an incredible gel manicure that looks perfect and has lasted so well. Highly recommend! read more

Wanted to get my nails done for the holidays, so I booked an appointment with Sweet D Nails over the phone. I absolutely loved my time here--everyone was so kind and helpful! I really appreciated the time that was spent on my nails and even though they didn't have exactly what I wanted (red chrome), they worked with me to get a color that I loved! 5/5 and will definitely be back whenever we visit Kansas! read more

I went in to get my dip powder soaked off and as she was starting the filing process she grabbed a nail nipper and started ripping off part of the dip. She had said that my dip was not well done (it had not been done there) and I agreed, but that was why she was ripping them off. I let her rip off 2 nails and then asked if she had planned on ripping the rest off, which she again said they were not well done. I replied that I could do that myself and left. I asked for my nails soaked off, not ripped off. My nails are now destroyed and in pain, I brush up against something and it hurts. I saw the bad reviews and figured those wouldn't apply to the removal of nails, I was extremely wrong. Spent $50 on a pedicure, the guy trimmed my nail down so far and then preceded to file it til I bled, I had to tell him to stop. he didn't trim my cuticles and then my other big toe is horizontal from how he trimmed it. I could have done better myself at home. Atleast if they looked good maybe the pain would be worth it but they look terrible and my toe hurts. I will never go back. read more

My first visit since they opened several years ago. I want to love this place because it's close to home. I did call last minute and got in right away. Maybe the gentleman who did my service was just a backup? I asked for a gel mani/pedi when I called and when I got to the salon. I have an injury to my foot which I explained at the beginning of my pedi. It was like the guy didn't care at all, trying to twist and move my foot in ways it DOES NOT GO! He was getting low key angry because my polish got messed up under the light and kept trying to tell me how to hold my foot. Wanting to accommodate him best I could, I ended up with painful muscle spasms in my foot which also seemed to annoy him. The massage was barely a 2 minute massage, which was less than I expected since I was never given options for which level of pedi I wanted. Still to this day have no idea of cost. Next was my gel manicure. Somehow I guess he thought I was there for a fill. Never had fake nails in my life. He then was pretty irritated as if it was my fault that I had gel on my hands that hadn't been soaked off. So he proceeded to soak and wrap the nails, and as soon as he finished the last one started opening the first one and SCRATCHED the polish off with his fingernails. Not professional at all. Made me feel like I was being punished. When they didn't all scratch off the first time they got re-wrapped and scratched again. The polish job was terrible. I have dried rivers of gel polish along my nail beds and I am just trying to keep them from peeling for another week. I've seen lots of good reviews so I am not saying I would never come here again, but only with someone who has great reviews! The manager/owner was very nice and accommodating, however he was on the phone and I wasn't going to stand around and wait to speak with him. read more

I'd just come in this morning for a much needed pedicure. It was wonderful to see the Technician I was hoping to be assigned to... she's helped me several times before and is AWESOME! She always has a wonderful and professional, but friendly attitude. . Unfortunately, there was another young woman that came up to the desk to assist me. It's unfortunate because right off the bat she displayed a poor attitude. She was extremely unprofessional in manner and VERY discourteous. She'd started to "help" but then an older woman came through the door and sat down. The young woman looked at me and said You're gonna have to give me a minute", then abruptly walked over to the elderly woman. I assume that she'd been there perhaps before I'd come in? The elderly woman proceeded to tell her when she was expecting other people to arrive. Mind you, there was no problem with her acknowledge the woman but she was completely dismissive with me, and rudely so... If she'd not displayed such rudeness when I'd come in, I may not have had an issue with this situation, however, her bad day has nothing to do with me and if she had a problem, perhaps it would have been better for her to simply stay in the back room until she could get her crummy attitude in check. Anyway...I walked out. Perhaps it's just me but why spend hard-earned money in an establishment that doesn't embrace good (and not petty and rude) customer service? read more

Really disappointed in the out come of my acrylics. Asked for a double French and even had a reference photo but when it came to cut the length he didn't even ask me he just cut them. They turned out so short that I could even get what I wanted. Then he like shaped them and some of them turned out really ugly. Pissed me off since homecoming is literally this weekend. I had to go home and shape them myself which was not pleasing since I spent 65 on them. Very very very upset. Went home and cried over these. Don't want to come here again read more

I had gel nails and had them taken off with the electric file, so it made my nails paper thin for at least 6-9 months. Do not go to this business. They don't care about the health of your nails. The male tech put a new set on them and they chipped and with the paper thin nails. 2 nails tore down to the quick. I will be going back to have another tech fix that nail but I will never step foot in that piece of s--/ place again. read more

Not a very good place for a pedicure. Feet were not scrubbed well. Polish was ok but a bit sloppy and now one nail is smudged clean of polish. No assistance putting the flip flops on after drying or partially drying. Not satisfactory. I'll try someplace else next time. read more

Worst nails I've ever gotten. Asked for pink and white and she started just doing tips ... then when I picked an orange color I watched the nail tech pick a different orange than I chose which was extremely neon and not at all what I asked for. I tried to correct her so many times and showed a reference photo several times as well. The service list said $50 but I was charged $61. I've never been so upset about nails so I called for a refund and they said they wouldn't refund me. Not to mention, my nail tech never greeted me or spoke other than to ask what I wanted ... which clearly she did not do. She kept getting up to help other people's nails when I made it clear I was on a time crunch. I'm pissed. read more

I have been going here for over a year to get a gel manicure and pedicure. I keep going back because I love the people, and their work is outstanding! Lisa is amazing; today she added a flower on each hand and they are simply gorgeous. The salon was recently remodeled. There are new chairs, new work stations, and new pedicure bowls. An added benefit is that the pedicure bowls now have plastic liners around them. I really love this new addition! Do yourself a favor and check out Sweet D's. They will take care of you!! read more

Less than thorough on a gel manicure. Edges lifting or not covered, ends not sealed. Mediocre cuticle trimming. Pedicure appears a little better, but tools weren't cleaned! The place is getting a facelift under renovation. I'd like to see it after it's done but not if the quality of work and hygienic tools changes! read more

The worst manicure and pedicure ever and when I complained they offered to fix them for an additional $48.00. Steer clear of this place! When I spend 180.00 I expect to be treated better. It also took about three hours to get a manicure and a pedicure. It was painful and yes I know I should've walked out after the pedicure but I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt. I had been looking for a new salon closer to me and decided to give Sweet-D's a try. Mina is absolutely fantastic! She is so sweet and did an amazing job! She is very detail oriented and made sure that my nails were clean and well polished. I throughly enjoyed my experience with her and will now be a regular for her and the business. Everyone there is very nice and polite. With Covid, they are all wearing masks and everything is clean and spread out. It was very easy to get in even with a same day appointment because they are well staffed. Everyone that came in did not spend more than 5 minutes waiting and there was a decent crowd. I could not recommend them more! Looking forward to my next appointment! read more

I asked for a basic gel black manicure, the lady cut my thumb while using the cuticle nippers and when I started to bleed she didn't even apologize, she painted my nails like she had never painted a nail before, and when I got into the car and looked at them none of them were smooth or painted fully. My mom got me gift card for my birthday that I was saving for a special occasion. Well I have a wedding coming up and realized the GC had just expired. It was only good for 180 days. I called and they said no, they would not accept it and actually laughed at me. It makes me so mad my mom wasted her hard earned $ at this place and they wouldn't honor their gift cards. This salon has won me over. Not the fanciest but decent prices. $40 for my mani pedi and great customer service! When I told them I had another appt soon they did both services at the same time. I had to return after a few nails were messed up that night and they were happy to fix them the next day, no charge. I'll definitely be back! read more

This is, my go to pedicure place. They take a lot of time with you and they seriously have the largest selection of nail polishes of anywhere with about 90% being OPI. The offer you water or coffee and their massage chairs are new, clean and always working. Their prices are incredibly reasonable and less than most places around KC/JOCO. read more

Not my usual nail shop -- oh, I feel so guilty, like I'm being unfaithful -- but I had another appointment in this shopping center later in the afternoon, and I knew I didn't have time to drive elsewhere, so I took a chance on walking in. I was mostly pleased. It's a new-ish salon, very clean, with a nice choice of colors & prices in line for the area. Several nice pedi chairs, although I was there only for an acrylic fill. The technician did a decent job on the fill, but he was very rough on my cuticles, nicked me a couple times hard enough to bleed a little. Yow! But they were friendly & communicated well with me & offered me coffee or water, which I appreciated. Not a bad choice if you happen to be in the area, but it won't be my regular choice. read more

Unfortunately, the morning of our appointments, while shaving, my razor slipped and nicked my ankle bone. When we got to the salon, I apologized, told the lady at the front that I couldn't do the deluxe pedicure, and the lady said I could do just gel nails. I originally selected a pink Cat Eye gel color. My friend selected a white color. Now, on to the service. My friend's pedicurist was a very friendly female. My pedicurist was a male and not friendly. When I told him the situation about not being able to do the deluxe pedicure, he acted like it was such an inconvenience to him that he had to do a regular polishing. Additionally, he told me that, because I was not doing the deluxe pedicure, he couldn't trim my toenails, but would do it anyway. Although I was glad that he chose to trim them, it made no sense why they typically don't with a regular polishing. He also said he would not be able to do anything with the cuticles, which is understandable. The cherry on top of this unpleasant sundae? After telling me he was out of the first pink shade I selected, I chose a darker pink Cat Eye gel color. He painted my toenails a glittery purple. I did want to say something before he completed one toe, but felt like I "inconvenienced" him enough, which was not my intention at all. Although I insisted on paying, my friend wanted to. When she got home, she sent me a photo of the receipt, which angered both of us. My pedicurist charged me for a gel polish change with removal, which came out to $30, and an additional $10 and $5 with no service descriptions next to these prices. For the record, I did not have toenail polish on when we came in for our appointments. We have never been scammed at a nail salon before. My friend was here to visit and we were looking forward to a relaxing nail salon day. This is one salon we will avoid in the future.

They don't upsell you to better polish in a book, etc. The prices are great. There are 4 pedicure chairs and a couple manicure stations. They also do hair removal, lip, eye brow, henna tint, etc. I always leave feeling pampered.
