We love supporting our local community as it is still recovering from Hurricane Ian. We crossed the bridge towards St. James City and towards the Cafe. It was bustling and it looks like a lot of snow birds have found this hidden gem. Everything is homemade and baked there. We ordered our usual- Scrambled eggs piled high on a Croissant with bacon and cheese. A delicious crispy concoction that keeps us coming back! Not to mention the fresh ground coffee and the little patio outside overlooking a peaceful lake. We ate our sandwiches outside in the cool beautiful breezy weather. The sandwich is so yummy and you need a fork and knife to cut through the delicate croissant. Then off we go to our favorite little Publix on Pine Island to grocery shop. A lovely way to begin our day!

The wait times become extremely long. You can easily wait quite a while just for coffee, and if you order food, expect an additional 20-30 minutes. By the time the sandwich comes out, your coffee is already finished, which kind of defeats the experience of enjoying both together. There is also a young girl frequently working the register who seems overwhelmed and inattentive. Orders often have to be repeated multiple times, even when clearly stated, which slows things down even more. It gives the impression that the front counter could use better training or stronger management during peak hours. We truly enjoy the vibe and want to keep supporting the place, but today's $12 panini was unfortunately not worth the price. Between the long wait and the quality not matching the cost, it made the experience disappointing. We hope they can improve organization and staffing during busy season, because it really is a nice spot with potential.

Especially the cappuccino, which they've perfected. The baked goods are outstanding. If you stop by in the morning, the display cases are packed full of fresh treats. When you walk in the front door, the case straight ahead is filled with Slavic desserts, while the one to the left features other European specialties. The left side of the building is dedicated to coffee and retail baked goods, while the right side serves as a sit-down restaurant. This is a genuine European style bakery, and there's also plenty of covered outdoor seating if you want to enjoy your order outside. Best of all, everything is made with natural and organic ingredients. You can feel good about indulging. Enjoy!
