Went there for dinner on 9/5. Staff was noncompliant with wearing of masks as I observed when they were checking orders behind the bar. The person doing the cooking also did not have any kind of face covering or face shield. I have not yet been able to find for NH what the requirements are for those doing the cooking, although I definitely know that those who are handling the food should have face coverings on at all times. Dined with my husband this New Years Eve rather than the "usual" Chinese and Sweet Ginger did not dissapoint. The atmosphere was fresh and clean and more importantly the food was delish. This is the best Thai food that I have had in a while. My friend and I shared the Thai rolls and chicken satay to start. For dinner, we had the Pik Pow fried rice and pad Thai. All of the food was excellent. The food honestly came out a little too fast. That was fine for the appetizers. However, we asked that they give us some time in between appetizers and our entrees and our entrees came our 5 minutes later. That was pretty disappointing. Next time I'll just hold off on ordering for a while. The glasses of wine were also pretty small. read more

I really like the people here, they're all very nice every time I go in. I enjoy the food, especially when I'm craving curry. Had never been in here before and thought we would give it a try. Asked if the appetizers were frozen or home made and we were told they were homemade. Ordered crab Rangoon and they looked suspiciously too uniform in size and shape. They were frozen inside. I specifically ordered a bottle of beer, this is the only restaurant I know of that charges more for draft than bottles of beer. I was brought a glass of Sam Adams and was charged $6 for it, not four. The food was not as tasty as I would have expected. The meal was not appealing to the eye or palette. At the hostess stand a plant was covered in cobwebs and dust and my instinct told me to run, how clean could the kitchen be if this is in my face and its gross? Vegetables could have been prepped better - I did all of the cutting and the curry was pretty runny - more like a soup. My wive had the Crispy Chicken Basil . Chicken was fried until dead - very dry and chewy. At best food is inconsistent. Major downside was the iced tea - at $3.95 per glass - highway robbery. Had the Crispy Chicken Basil, amazing dish! Just be wary, pretty spicy. Was very happy with the price ($10) and the fact that I was in and out within 30 minutes. Portion size is actually lunch-appropriate, not typical overflowing American style (weird, I know). My Favorite Thai in the area (I go to the Merrimack NH location). They have bubble tea and good drinks. There is a very large menu, much of which I haven't tried yet because I tend to go back to my favorites. The sum tum salad and fresh rolls are great. Super fast service on lunch too. read more

I've eaten at Sweet Ginger Thai many, many times over the years for lunch and lunch/dinner take-out (I'm not sure why I've never reviewed it). It's a consistently good experience, only a couple of times have we been slightly disappointed. It's a solid 4 stars and there's no doubt we will be back many times in the future. My last visit was last week when I met some friends for lunch. We were seated quickly and service was friendly. We ordered the vegetable tempura and I was able to request no broccoli or sweet potato (I don't think either make good tempura). They happily used some additional other vegetables, which I appreciated. The tempura was crispy and good. My entrée was the Hot Beef Platter and it was so good...tender beef with vegetables in a spicy sauce. Now in terms of heat, they do rate it "*** very hot & spicy", but typically that's just lip service. Well they aren't kidding, this dish is VERY hot & spicy. I love heat so I was fine with the heat level (with a few water refills), but others might want to be forewarned. On past visits or for takeout we've tried the following: Appetizers: vegetable rolls, Thai rolls, golden triangle, wonton delight, Thai wings, satay, fresh rolls, shrimp in the blanket (all good with my favorites being the Thai wings and shrimp in the blanket). We did not care for spicy todman at all. Mixed reviews on the crab Rangoon (they have curry in them, which is not my thing but the husband orders them every time). Crispy cup is just okay. The only soup we've tried is the Tom Yum and my husband enjoys it. Our favorite entrees include the Pad Thai, Lo Mein Krapow, Pad Kra Pow, Beef Hot Platter and Basil Fried Rice. We've tried some of the stir-frys, currys and other SG specialties. Most were good but maybe not items we would order over again. A few items we do not like are the teriyaki steak (a thin, unsliced piece of beef with too much bitter charring in a watery sauce that I just didn't like), Crispy Chicken Basil (bland), and a couple of the noodle dishes do not transport well for takeout. The Crystal Pad Thai arrived home in one solid mass of noodles, as did the Drunken Noodles. These dishes are probably much better at the restaurant so I won't hold that against them. Considering the number of items we've ordered from their menu it is quite reasonable that we have a few items we just don't enjoy, or maybe just aren't that good. This is our go-to for Thai and we enjoy it very much. The staff are always friendly and food is ready promptly. We like the food quality, freshness and consistency. I recommend Sweet Ginger to people often and will continue to do so. read more

This is possibly the best Thai food we've ever eaten and we've eaten some good Thai food.

Have been eating at this awesome Thai restaurant for over 2 years now impeccably good food with reasonable pricing. Went there yesterday and noticed that the restaurant has now expanded to take over an adjacent store front. Went in and ordered some some chicken pad Thai and some chicken red curry and found both plates to be severely deficient in chicken. They used to have good portion sizes of chicken on their plates, but when I got my food, I found almost no chicken and even worse, now the chicken is almost microscopic (chopped way to small). I separated the chicken on both plates and pushed it to the side to see how much chicken was actually in the plates and to my horror it was barely 2 tablespoons of chicken chopped into micro pieces. I sincerely hope that the owners read this post, because if nothing changes I will NOT return to this place, and I will let all my coworkers know to avoid your place as well. Perhaps you have a new cook that is trying to save you money by shorting the portion size and you did not notice, or perhaps the place changed hands into new ownership, but whatever happened is so NOT GOOD ! You used to be a 5 star Thai food place and now I have a hard time even giving you 2 stars. For the record, I want the old crew back that used to make really good food. If you have run out of money due to your expansion expenses, for God's sake DON'T cut back on the protein in your plates. RAISE YOUR PRICES INSTEAD OF LOWERING THE FOOD QUALITY/QUANTITY. I like your place and that is the only reason why I wrote this review. Hopefully this review gets read and this problem gets fixed fast. read more

I just realized this place is related to the restaurant of the same name in Union Sq. Somerville down the street from where I used to live! The Thai food I loved in Boston has finally come to New Hampshire :D Serioulsy yesterday my CC was canceled since I was supposed to be sent a new one that never came in the mail and I had only ten bucks cash on me. They trusted me to come back and pay the balance so today I made another order and tried the Som Tum salad that is a favorite of mine and they killed it. SOOOOO GOOD, the green papaya is crunchy, it's perfectly spicy and sweet! Great people, the best thai around and amazing prices!!! I am so impressed with this restaurant. They recently expanded so if you read a review saying that this place is small, don't worry. What makes this place so great is not just the food but the staff is so friendly and welcoming. I have never been to Thailand so I dont know if the food is "traditional", but what I do know is that all the food is high quality. The vegetables are always crisp and the food has big flavors. My wife and I were at the restaurant late one night and the manager, Pat, began making us small dishes to try. These were non menu items that she was experimenting with. This experience makes the place what it is. I highly recommend Sweet Ginger. And whats even better is that they have happy hour during the week. read more

Horrible service! We were seated right away, the lady brought water and never returned to our table. We sat for 10 mins watching 2 parties that arrived before us get served drinks and have their orders taken. We researched the menu prior to arriving so we knew what we were going to order. As we walked out I told the waitress "we are leaving" she said thanks. When I explained that we are leaving because everyone is getting served and waited on that came in after us, she didn't seem to care. None of the staff seemed to want to be there. Really disappointing experience tonight- ordered for delivery at 530p, was told 45 minutes for delivery. At 645 (an hour and fifteen minutes later) our food still had not been delivered, called to check on our order and was told the driver was right around the corner. I called back at 705p (More than an hour and a half later) when our food still had not been delivered. After we spoke to the manager she said it would once again be a few minutes. It's pretty good. I am a novice to Thai food. The menu is big and not easy to read. I didn't see pho soup but I could of easily missed it. The sweet pulled pork is good. The vegetable delight is good. The crispy soup was not clear broth and it was too sweet to my liking. The miso soup was good. The chicken wings, cabbage and mushroom dumpling were a hit with the whole family. The vegetables rolls we ok, the kids complained the veggies were too raw and no flavor. We recently tried this restaurant for the first time and were not impressed. The Tom yum soup was the high point, the service, haphazard at best, was the low point. We ordered pad Thai which was ok, Massaman curry was watery and bland, ginger pancakes starchy, my typical favorite, chicken satay, was never delivered. The waitresses took orders and delivered food if and when it came up. So we waited a long time for any food and then were served everything within a short period of time. We weren't given plates for our appetizers and dinners as expected and as were given to other tables. Dirty plates were never bussed from our tiny "two top", they just piled up. I resorted to placing them on the tables next to us as they were being bussed. I've trained wait staff and this was torturous to me. There are better local Thai restaurants where the food is good and we are treated as valuables patrons. read more
