So, I have never been a pie fan and usually skipped eating it during the holidays. On a whim, I decided to try Sweet Lucy's after finding them on social media. I'm so glad I did! The staff was friendly and willing to answer any questions I had. The shop is small, so you will need to grab and go with your order. I've tried 3 different flavors now, and have not been disappointed yet. They rotate their flavors, so check back to see what's new each week. The quiche is really good as well. I wasn't a huge fan of the hand pies, but that may be a personal preference. They're only open on Fridays and Saturdays, so make sure you get there early because they do sell out! read more

Favorites were the Earl Grey with blueberry, the Sweet Lucy (amazing for strawberry lovers), and the rich milk chocolate. The lattice crust was beautiful (a rustic masterpiece), and inside the apple filling was thinly sliced (like a tarte tatin I had in Paris), deliciously tart, plentiful and perfectly spiced! Looking for the best pies in town...look no further - Ms. Lucy currently makes the magic in her home kitchen. She delivers, you can pick up off her porch or catch her at the Clearfork Farmer's Market. She is quick to return messages via DM or voicemail. My first visit to Sweet Lucy's was for a homemade apple pie. Now...I am NOT a fan of the apple pie....but lemme tell ya somethin' - this crust...oh this crust- only crust I've tasted that is almost as good as my momma's. Super flaky bottom & topped with a lattice crust. For my Momma's birthday last year I ordered a coconut cream pie. Excellent - a little disappointed that it was topped with whipped cream over meringue. But never fear -- the whipped cream was so good my disappointment was short lived! This evening I snagged some galettes- fresh roasted B&G Texas beets & carrots along with blue cheese in a folded butter pastry. Oh my goodness! It was difficult to share. Woohoo SO GOOD! First time customer and my family and I LOVED everything we tried. Honestly it's a tie for first between the Key Lime-Berry & Peach-Blueberry...both were awesome! The Key Lime had perfect zing, with the sweet berries and delicious graham cracker crust, it all worked beautifully together! The Peach Blueberry Pie was full of tender delicious peaches and berries. The crumble on top was generous and not overly sweet. Both pieces were a very good size and totaled $12. I bought one additional item before peach season ends, it was a Bourbon Peach Bar $4. It was also scrumptious from top to bottom! The two ladies in the shop were so friendly and polite (one was probably the owner). It's a small business, but boy do that have some fabulous treats. I was also given a sample of the Texas Sheet Cake Whoopie Pie, and I would definitely recommend it. I honestly would have liked to buy more, items, but I'll save some for another day. I bought their Canberry-Buttermilk Pie and I was hooked! Talk about a great a perfect combination of savory and sweet perfection. I started buying her pies at the farmers market- the salted honey pie is what hooked me. And that salted honey pie is so good... there are no words. You'll never be disappointed by a purchase from them, I've tried quiet a few of her amazing creations. I took a small peach pie home to WI that was raved about, so I splurged on a salted caramel apple pie when headed to St. Louis for thanksgiving. My family raved about this one too. It was definitely worth the trouble of having it in my lap for the plane ride there. This is an amazing business and well worth your time. You can order through Facebook- just google sweet Lucy's. I picked up a couple of these pies at the fall Funky Finds event and fell in love! The Salted Honey is an incredible, melt-in-your-mouth concoction. Equally as yummy but not quite as unique, the Chocolate Fudge. I loved that they are small (but big enough for two to share) and packaged in a cute little brown box with a tulle bow. Would make a great thank you gift. Only buy these pies if you want flaky crusts, honest ingredients and a full 10-rated experience for your taste buds.
