I've been here many times for lunch with business people and family. The lunch specials have always been excellent; fresh, fast and affordable. Some of the servers are very personable and accommodating which is appreciated. However, others have been impersonal, don't clear the table as needed, check in for napkins, water etc. This is dissapointing since the food is notably and consistently excellent, while the service is hit or miss unfortunately. I think that makes me a regular to have experienced both sides. Keep in mind, I'm strictly speaking of lunch as it fits my schedule best. COVID-19 Precautions: 5/5 This was one of the few restaurants we have been to that performed temperature checks upon entering. All of the visitors and staff wore masks, and the waiters wore gloves. There was hand sanitizer upon entering, and a separate bathroom for the upstairs patio. The menus were regular plastic menus, but we were given hand wipes with our silverware before eating. The staff seemed pretty conscientious about wiping down and sanitizing tables between customers. Ambiance: 4.5/5 We sat upstairs on the covered portion of the patio which was perfect for a fall afternoon. The patio is open on all sides, but part of it has a covered roof and part does not. The outer walls of the patio were lined with planter boxes which had tomato plants and other vegetables which was a nice touch. They also had outdoor heaters for when it becomes colder. We ordered the General Tso's chicken and the teriyaki shrimp bento box. The bento box came with a small salad with ginger dressing and four fried shrimp shumai which added a little variety to the meal. It did not come with a California roll as shown in the picture, but the waiter made sure to point that out when we ordered. The teriyaki shrimp came with roasted zucchini, corn, carrots and broccoli which were fresh and tender, but the teriyaki sauce itself was a little thick though it had a nice flavor. The general tso's was exactly what you would expect it to be: crispy and sweet with a little bit of spice. Service: 5/5 The host and waiter were friendly and made sure to clarify our orders so that there were no mistakes. The service was prompt without being overbearing. Dinner and a show, classic hibachi meal. Both Chefs tonight were very engaging, but the attitude of the clientele is always a factor. We ordered a couple of appetizers, which were forgotten by the server. She was very sweet but had a little trouble understanding our orders (odd with such limited options). You simply pick between chicken, steak, shrimp or any combination of the three and they are cooked in front of you with the usual techniques, tactics, jokes and entertainment. Sushi rolls and sashimi looks fresh and it definitely tasted fresh too. Bok Choy with Chicken was seasoned well, not too oily or greasy. For openers, they were open, which, in these times of COVID is not to be taken for granted. My people & I had lunch on the 2nd floor, on an outdoor porch, pleasant enough. The menu offered a conglomeration of Chinese. Korean & Japanese food (at least I think it did). I had the salmon Terriyaki, which came with miso soup, salad, rice & some other green stuff. The miso soup tasted bland & disgusting like miso soup usually does. I'd say it was good miso soup but that would be an oxymoron. The salmon was EXCELLENT, it was cooked PERFECTLY. **I recommend the salmon teriyaki without any reservation.** The green stuff on my plate included broccoli which was barely edible, that's about as good as broccoli gets. The other green stuff seemed fresh & crisp & tasted good. This establishment should be on the highly recommended list for those of us that are overweight since the potions are on the skimpy side. I have been door dashing for the last few months, food is great Last night we thought we would try dining in Huge mistake We were asked to go upstairs were we waited for 20 minutes at our table without menus Water or even a waitress. I had to stand up and approach the bar for the one menu they handed me for party of 4. No ice water nothing. When we finally were able to order our food came out hot and fresh but the rice arrived 15 minutes later most of our entrées were already eaten. I usually come here once in a while since it's in the neighborhood and because I eat gluten free and discovered that they do have low sodium gluten free soy sauce. They were to many times I have gotten the spicy tuna and saw that it was frozen and fell right out of the sea weed wrap. In all honesty the food never taste fresh, everything seems boxed or frozen and the staff isn't always friendly. We had a horrible experience today, my sister and I were planning on dining in - we first walked in and there was no one to seat us, we had to hunt down a server as they waved us to sit anywhere very flustered. The service was not attentive tonight, and I found it to be better on past visits. Our waiter was sloppy, dripping water into our drinks, and on our plates during two of his visits. Terrible customer service! I ordered online from their website around 7:12pm and didn't receive my food until 9:22pm. ETA was supposed to be 65 mins, but that's not the problem. The problem is that the owner chastised me for not paying a delivery fee when their website didn't charge me for one. How is that my fault?! When the driver pulled up he told me that it took a long time for my food to be delivered because no one wanted to drive 5.7 miles when I didn't select for there to be a delivery fee and I only tipped $2.50 (sorry I'm a broke college student) ...Excuse me? Where exactly was I supposed to select for a delivery fee. Don't websites usually do that for you? One - this was my first time delivering food from them. Two - I entered my address, no problem. Nothing popped up saying I needed to pay a delivery fee, there were no prompts, nothing. I looked on their website to find where it said there is a delivery fee and the only place I could see it was the fine print on the pdf of their menu. Great. Well I didn't look at the pdf because when you order online it already gives you a menu to select from. So then he laments that the store is closed (Google says they close at 9:30, so that's a lie) and he had to drive to my address himself because he couldn't get an employee to do it during their shift. Your employees not doing their job is not my problem and your website not being clear enough also isn't my problem. So now my food is cold and not even that good. I had chicken and shrimp which comes with white or brown rice, and if you want fried rice there's an up charge, my husband had the steak and scallops. You get more of a show at Benihana's but the portions are very very small. At the sweet Manderin the show Might not be that fantastic but honestly the food was very verygood and there's big portions.
