Amazing place. I still think about the flavors of my food for weeks every time. The fusion here is great, never overwhelming always balanced. Everything is delivered within good time after ordering and there are LOTS of options to choose from here. The place is very well decorated and always clean. The workers are super friendly and helpful with the menu! It's perfect for family or date tjme. My service dog was welcome in his bag! Everyone was very nice!

Sweet mango is a family run business in Southington. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The live fish tank adds a nice touch to the ambience of the dining area. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was minimal on a very, very hot day. They offered Thai and sushi dishes. The menu is full of a variety of traditional and fusion type entrées. The prices are reasonable, and there is plenty of parking available.

This is one of the best sushi places around. The sushi is always fresh and they have a great variety of rolls, Thai entrees, and hibachi. The service is great and fast. It's a little small inside but the turnaround time for a table is quick during busy times. The shrimp hibachi lunch was very good and was a generous portion. The sushi lunch special is a great deal and tastes very good. Highly recommend if you're in the area and want really good sushi.

Went to Sweet Mango for a quick lunch. We got seated pretty quick and they took our drink order. The space is pretty small and I can tell it can get packed on a busy day/night. We ordered from lunch menu and order three items. We got two rolls and two lunch entrees. The soup and salad came out quickly but the rest of the food took awhile to come out. There were only about three tables but I'm sure they had a bunch of to go orders as it was around lunch time. When the food did come it was delicious. My hibachi chicken was cooked perfectly. It was seared to my liking. The sushi here is always delicious and the presentation was nice. The waitress was quick and friendly. Overall we had a good time and all of this was about $37. Would come again for a weekday lunch or take out.

Quick service even on a busy night! The parking lot was full and they still seated us right away. Sushi was fast and amazing, overall great environment.

I've only ordered take out from this restaurant but the majority of people dine in for this restaurant. Large dining area and a full bar are available. The menu has some unique options. One of my fave's is spicy mango chicken. It's delicious with chicken and mixture of sliced chunks of fresh mango, jalapeño and other veggies in sweet sauce. My takeout experience has been good. Online ordering is available. Their suggested pick up time is accurate so not much waiting. Parking lot is small for the amount of businesses they get. You may have to park in neighboring lots at busy times.

I just moved to the area and this has been my go to lunch spot. They have great lunch deals that include either miso soup or side salad. The sushi is fresh and they go light on the rice. I've also gotten the chicken teriyaki and it comes with two breasts! Very impressed and will continue to frequent this spot for my quick Asian/sushi cravings.

I've had Sweet Mango on my list for a long time and finally got a chance to stop in this week. It's a quaint restaurant and I was immediately seated. I was in the mood for some hot tea, Kani salad and a cooked roll. The salad and the chicken tempura roll were delicious. Then I was asked if I wanted dessert, so I indulged in some chocolate cake. It was lovely. I've heard that this place can get packed and it seemed like I just beat the dinner rush by arriving closer to 5. It definitely started getting busier as I was leaving. Looking forward to dining here in the near future to try more of the menu.

From the outside the place doesn't seem great but omg - give them a try ! The tuna dumplings were AMAZING,hearty yet refreshing. The crazy roll is exactly that - CRAZY ,delicious! Also had the "fallen Angel " roll and it was incredible as well . Over all this place was delicious, clean and friendly staff.

This was our first visit to Sweet Mango and I must say; I was not disappointed. The service was prompt, the restaurant was clean, and the food was fresh and filling. The portions were not skimpy and I felt I was getting the bang for the buck. They have a drink and dessert menu which was refreshing to see. The drink menu had plenty to choose from as did the sweets menu. If you're ever in the area, stop in and enjoy the freshness!

She is very passionate about the menu and is very attentive to everyone. Thankfully, as our food was served she was there to explain that the best way to experience the chef's creation is to eat it as it presented (without soy sauce) first. She went on to explain that each dish is created with specific textures and flavors in mind to create an intentional balanced bite. She is absolutely correct and I am so glad we listened. In fact, after trying the "second" bite with soy sauce, we recognized that it was much better without it. The soy sauce is homemade and delicious but the sushi is so perfectly executed, it really does not need anything at all to shine. This is not your average sushi joint. The food and service will blow you away. Get the Princess Peach Roll if it's available. The Tiger Roll and the Flame Touch were also fantastic. Hint: the tiger roll comes with lemon slices on top - do not remove the lemon. Trust me.

I repeat told me to hurry up and order because the kitchen closes at three. Talk about pressure! So I ordered miso soup, a devil roll, and a Pepsi. So as I'm sitting in my booth, waiting for the food to be prepared, and I was keeping an eye on the sushi, chef, he sneezed. OK, I hope he wiped his hands and none of that crap went into the sushi roll he was making. Anyways, out came the soda and the miso soup. The miso soup was served in a plastic bowl about 3/4 of the way up. Also included was a plastic soup spoon. Looking around, this place was decent inside. Why would they be serving in plastic bowls with plastic utensils? This made no sense but OK. Out came the devil roll, and it looked like sushi, except it had this weird red spam like texture stuff on the top of it. I had no clue what it was. I ate it, but it was barely edible and seeing it was 14.95 , I wasn't about to send it back. So the two waitresses kept staring at me like saying hurry up hurry up hurry, hurry hurry And all my 65+ years on this earth I never felt so rushed.. These waitresses were not friendly. As soon as I was finished it looked like the manager, came over and immediately cleaned the table. She didn't give me the best looks either. Anyways, the food was decent the price decent, but the help, be prepared to be attacked by soup Nazis This definitely won't be a place I'll return to. Manners, Sushi House, manners!

It was a humble reminder that you don't need to go to a culinary destination to find good food. Cheshire Connecticut may not be known for its food scene, however, I found Sakana was a genuine diamond in the rough. My expectations were admittedly low going in. My level of skepticism is always high when I see the "Asian Bistro" moniker, as it is frequently used for restaurants to try to appeal to the masses at the expense of quality by having a "jack-of-all-trades" menu that lacks the technical intricacies and mastery required for specific dishes. Additionally, these establishments tend to follow a "cookie-cutter" menu and offer the same boring dishes you can find at every other Asian Bistro. Even when initially walking towards the restaurant, I had my doubts. The exterior of Sakana honestly looked more like a clinic than a restaurant. Once I saw the menu however, my skepticism shifted towards optimism. For a local bistro, they feature a surprisingly extensive wine and cocktail menu, including premium sake options. I was particularly impressed to find toro on the menu; although it's undoubtedly becoming more of a trend in Connecticut, I was nevertheless happy to see it offered at Sakana as well. Overall I liked their sushi selections and everything I ordered was well-prepared and tasted fresh. We ordered a chicken and broccoli for our daughter and found the chicken tender and broccoli perfectly cooked. That may not sound impressive to those reading, but you'll be surprised how many restaurants fail to execute this baseline dish correctly. The service, although pleasant, was probably the only "weak link" of our experiences here. The quality of service was noticeably inconsistent between our two visits, and they would benefit vastly from having a more reliable and experienced front-of-house team to match the execution coming from the kitchen and sushi bar. Despite this minor gripe, Sakana was a standout. As long as I'm in the area, they will definitely be among the top of my list of places to eat!

So friendly. Is the food exceptional? To me no, but my parents enjoy it. Tonight we started with crab rangoons. Pretty good. Sauce on the side not very exciting. A chili sauce would be better. I got a sushi roll with White tuna inside and cooked shrimp on top and wasabi mayo. I forget the name of the roll but it was better than the two times I've ordered takeout. Miso soup was also good. Their soup bowls are in the shape of a heart which is super cute. Dad got some sort of a mixed protein dish with brown sauce (had shrimp, chicken and beef). Mom got the chicken and garlic sauce. They both got fried rice on the side. I tried it and it was very bland. Dad also got a salad with his meal and the ginger dressing was not very good. Red coloring to it. Usually ginger dressing is more on the orange side. Dad also got the Malaysian chicken coconut soup to start and it could use a bit more flavor. Was a bit watery. Mom loved her sweet and sour soup. Nice that this place is 5 minutes away. Cheshire needs more restaurants. Def not my fav restaurant in town though. Food to me is just ok.
