I've been working with computers for years and this place has arguably the same crappy customer service as Fry's. I had my gf go in to get specifically "name brand" DDR3 memory such as crucial, kingston, gskill, etc. memory for my intel motherboard and they sold her some supertalent memory, sold by "Joey", claiming it is a high end brand. A 2GB chip cost me $60! They CLAIM that there is no 15% restocking fee on memory but the receipt clearly states that there is one. When I called them to email me proof that there is no restocking fee, no response at all. Utter lack of customer service. Lastly, when the memory was returned, it was past the 14 day return policy, so I settled for a 15% restocking fee...except when I got the refund, they gave me $5 LESS than what I was suppose to get! Once again, I had to circle around the block, find parking, and resolve the issue. BOTTOM LINE: HIGH prices, LACKLUSTER customer service and product knowledge, and LIES, lies and more lies on the restocking fee and calculation of refund amount makes it quite an unappealing place to shop at. I brought in my Macbook Pro to have the screen repaired after Apple refused to fix it blaming water damage and wanted several hundred dollars to execute the repair. Had my IPOD 30 GB Audio Jack replace for $80 bucks back on Sept /11 after 2 months same problem one sound was playing on my headphones place a call to sweet memory and ask them if they had a warranty on audio jacks one of the workers couldn't answer my question and that the owner would call me back. Till now I have not heard from them so I order the part along with the battery and replace it myself using tutorial on youtube hold and behold my IPOD works beautifully.... Ciao read more

I've had good luck with these guys so far, though I went in prepared. I found what I needed on www.Crucial.com then I checked www.sweetmemory.com for their price. I called ahead to make sure they had the memory that I needed. They quoted me higher than their website over the phone AND when I went into the store. I mentioned that the website had a cheaper price and the guy matched it without hesitation. If you need memory right away this is a good place to go otherwise I'd order from Crucial. read more

I came here because it's close to work and on my way home. I knew there would be a mark up being in downtown, but I didn't care that much due to the convenience. My charger on my Dell laptop broke and I needed a new one to get my computer to work. I went inside and purchased one for a whopping $50. It was not even an original Dell charger, but some made in Asia knock off. I was thinking I could get this on Ebay or Amazon for $25. Anyhow, I brought it home and used it and it does work somewhat to charge my laptop, however I sometimes get an error message saying they cannot detect the charger and something to the effect that the charger is not compatible. Sometimes the charger does not work. The technician at Sweet Memory told me that it would work exactly the same as the original Dell one. While doing a thorough cleaning of my apartment, my husband found an extra Dell original charger for me and I have been using that one without any problems. I feel ripped off buying a fake Dell charger for $50. I would not recommend Sweet Memory. read more

I needed to upgrade the RAM in my laptop. I found the RAM card(s) I needed at Fry's down in the burbs for a an excellent price. I paid a bit more at Sweet Memory. But, they installed the RAM for me, which, after seeing them do it, I realized would have been challenging for me to figure out without messing something up (the keyboard on my laptop had to be removed to replace the primary RAM card). Ultimately, I paid about $15 more than at Fry's but saved myself a trip to Palo Alto. Also, I have the piece of mind of knowing that if anything goes wrong with the memory card in my pc, I can take it to Sweet Memory and they'll replace it or fix it. read more

This review is long overdue. Sherman is a rockstar. I bought a laptop, and a month later spilled sugary coffee on the keyboard. I called three other computer repair places, and they insisted that I needed to replace the keyboard - at a cost that was nearly as much as what I had just paid for the whole computer. I took matters into my own hands and took the keyboard apart and carefully cleaned each key and part with alcohol, then put it back together. Unfortunately, there were a few pieces that I just couldn't get back in no matter how hard I tried. Sherman got them back in. He is a miracle worker. He charged me some nominal amount - just a few bucks for his time. I had also been in previously for an iPod battery, and had a great experience then too. Highly recommend. read more

Anyways, I needed drive rails for a 2.5" hard drive and this store sold them in a kit with an adapter that I didn't need. Without even asking the employee offered to take off $5 because he also deduced that I wouldn't need it based off what I had asked for. Great! read more

I cracked my iPhone 5S screen and these guys were great getting it fixed. I went in and had it done within an hour for a fair price, and they were extremely nice and professional. But then I was away for a week and I had some trouble with the speaker (which I learned is connected to the glass). I called them and explained and they told me to bring it back. They again replaced it but the problem persisted. So they suggested we try one more time and they'll take a closer look. TLDR version: they spend almost an hour helping me fix an issue and in the end did not charge me a single dime (as no hardware had to be replaced or anything). I went here to fix an unresponsive display. One of the engineers was kind enough to help me troubleshoot my issues for almost an hour, ultimately to uncover that the problem was with the firmware on my MacBook, as opposed to the display itself. STAY AWAY from Sam and this place. AWFUL. If I could give it negative stars I would. Long boring story but the gist is - I bought memory for my MacBook Pro. Paid for on my CC. When I tried to install it, the computer wouldn't even boot up. Spoke to Mac and they explained it was likely the wrong Hz rate. Even though I ordered it from Sam on the phone and told him the specific (year, model, etc.) computer I had. When I returned the memory he was argumentative at every step. Told he he couldn't be in business for as long as he was if he sold the wrong memory. Basically said it was my fault. Found a better person at Crucial memory where it was cheaper by HALF! Got the right memory and returned Crucial's POS. And waited. And waited for a credit. Waited some more. And some more. Finally forgot and then going through my CC bill noticed the receipt and my handwritten CREDIT. Still not on the bill. Called and he tells me he does't have my number. Wanted to call to get my cc again to run the credit. I then read my phone number to him from his invoice! (- but he does't have it). OMG. Then tells me to calm down when I ask why he hasn't credited the amount back! What an ass. If you want a hassle go to this guy otherwise go to Crucial. Better service, faster and cheaper! read more

I come here to get memory chips... Because they don't really offer anything else I could possibly need. However, that they do offer memory that you usually have to go online to purchase. I had to upgrade a system that was quite old and it was difficult getting memory for it. However, Sweet Memory had it in stock or can usually get it quite quickly. Within a day or two usually. It's rare that I write a review unless a company or product is exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. In this case Sweet Memory IT Services did a fantastic job in a time crunched situation with a really talented tech person. A few Sundays ago I was backing up my Windows 10 home/work computer with a newly purchased Seagate external backup drive (just a simple USB plug and play, or so I thought.) When I plugged in the USB and started my computer the whole system crashed. Windows would not boot, the computer would not recognize the recovery USB drive, and all the Windows built in self-diagnostic and self-repair tools failed to fix the problem. All my work files, personal files, and information for soon to be due taxes was in jeopardy. Anyone that has had a hard drive fail with no recent backup can attest to how terrible this situation is! That Monday morning early I called Sweet Memory and told them the situation. They made room in their schedule, I immediately brought the computer in, and they rapidly diagnosed the problem with the hard drive. Sweet Memory was able to save all my files, install a new hard drive, and reload all the files to the new drive. Their tech person was knowledgeable, talented, and took time to explain everything that was going on. Their pricing was extremely reasonable and the owner, Sam, was genuinely concerned that everything went well. Without hesitation I would highly recommend Sweet Memory for any IT needs! read more

I work in the tech field, and all of my purchases fall into one of two categories: order it from Dell or CDW and wait a week or walk over to Sweet Memory because I absolutely need it right now. I've never used their tech services, but they always have the memory, power supplies, CPU's and odd cables I need. I'm giving them 5 stars because there's been a few times I've come in looking for server or notebook memory and they offer to sell a lower priced item, even though I asked for the higher priced memory stick. I had a broken laptop (LCD needed to be replaced) and I was nervous about the final price tag because with some repairs you may as well just go buy a whole new computer for a little more. I called into Sweet Memory for a quote, then shopped around before I went in. I bought a used screen on eBay and thought my techy skills could get me through the replacement instructions... um, until I stripped a screw. My office was right down the street from Sweet Memory, so I took in the used screen and laptop with the screw I just screwed up and they charged me a resonable price for the labor and they also upgraded my memory. a few weeks back, i decided to upgrade my hard drive on my white macbook to 500gb so i could have more room for bootcamp. i first went to Powerbook Guy to buy the tools, then i asked what the price was for the hard drive i wanted. they had a 500gb seagate drive for roughly $250! when i told them that i found a Hard drive of the same size, for $150 at Sweet Memory, they scoffed at that, telling me that it was cheaper because it was a Western Digital; that Western Digital's crash all the time. So when i went to Sweet Memory to ask about hard drives, they had a 500gb drive for $150 like i had found earlier this year. to my surprise though, they had switched to Seagate drives as well! so i was able to get the exact same drive for $100 less!!! plus they were just really friendly and awesome about it all! read more
