    Pineapple Shaved Ice
    Ya-Wei W.

Perfectly nostalgic and authentic flavors, and honestly great service and a cozy environment. My friends and I dropped by with the intention of grabbing dessert, but ended up having a light dinner too. I got the pineapple shaved ice, which there was some confusion and they made me the pineapple slushy originally. I was a bit sad but didn't want them too have to remake it or chuck it so I said I'd just take the slushy. But they said it was okay and that they would make me the shaved ice, and don't worry about the slushy, they will "drink it" instead almost funny - but I really appreciates that level of service. And the pineapple shaved ice was everything I imagined it would be bringing back memories from my childhood in Hsin-Chu Taiwan. The noodle and rice dishes shared with friends were also amazing and a good price. Can't wait to visit again!

The food was salter and sweeter than we expected. We had 5 adults and we usually eat lots of Taiwanese food. I want to give them benefit of the doubt since their sister restaurant Memory Corner was delicious last time I went. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Traditional brown sugar shaved ice (with green beans and taro) has a banana flavor to it.

Ordered the hot grass jelly, sadly didnt have any toppings except for some peanuts but the consistency was great! Friend ordered double tea jelly (peach green tea, earl grey) and peach was much more flavourful than earl grey. Another friend got a strawberry condensed milk shaved ice with pudding and yam balls - do not recommend this as the strawberry is very medicine-like. Toppings were great tho.

    Guandong Boils

They barely have vegetarian meals. (Marinated dried tofu, Taiwanese seaweed salad, Shaved ice, Tofu pudding). The Guandong Boils have radish and cabbage. However, the broth is made by simmering kombucha, bonito flakes, vegetables, and sauce.

This Taiwanese eatery was recommended by friends in Vancouver. Each person sitting must place their own order, no sharing permitted. We were a group of 8, and we asked if we could place 6 orders for the table and the server agreed to the 6 orders. We had just completed a big dinner. My favourite was the Triple Classic Tofu Pudding, it was so silky. I had also ordered a Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea with Tapioca Gummy Cubes. It was served in a paper cup and lid as if it was a take-out. The picture displays a delicious cold creamy beverage, with a ton of toppings on the top. My drink seemed to have a ton of ice cubes, and it did not have the volume of tapioca gummies indicated like the photo. I was somewhat disappointed. My sister had the Strawberry Shaved Ice with condensed milk and it did not have a lot of condensed milk. I cannot understand the high ratings of other reviewers. We will not be returning to this eatery. Parking will be tricky to find on a Saturday night. Food 3/5 Service 3.75/5 Ambience 3/5

Not bad! First night in Vancouver, looking for a place to get some late night munchies. Luckily this place is near by the holiday inn and airport and opens late so this was the perfect place. Lots of traditional Taiwanese dishes and desserts, and the staff were attentive and gave great recommendations. Flavor may be a bit awkward for those who aren't used to it. The grass jelly was okay, not the best but still good. The custard tofu flower was very good and was my first time trying it. They don't put a lot of brown sugar in the sweetening sauce so the traditional tofu flower didn't have much flavor in the larger bowl, but did in the side desert dish that came with our noodles. They had a lot of toppings as well. It was around 1130 pm when we went and it wasn't too busy at all. Interior was small but decorative.

Came here based off a friend's recommendation on a recent Vancouver trip, and omg I have NOT stopped thinking about the peach green tea jelly dessert which I got here. It was SO GOOD. Just the perfect amount of sweetness for me, and great tea flavor. It was around $9 CAD, which is a bit on the higher side but acceptable to me given how good it was (they also give you quite a bit of it). I came here with a pretty large party (around 10 or so people), and we were able to get seated right away during off hours. Staff was very friendly in helping us put tables together as well as in general demeanor. Definitely looking forward to trying other items here on my next visit!

Came here for dessert and walking through the door immediately brings you back to old Taiwan from the tables and chairs to the wall decor is very nostalgic. The menu offers many Taiwanese comfort food and desserts. We opts for their tofu pudding, oolong tea jelly and strawberry shaved ice. The tofu pudding was silky smooth and flavorful. I loved the strong soy flavor and simply paired with syrup that was not too sweet. The oolong tea jelly was refreshing and is a must have for any tea lovers. However, the strawberry shaved ice was a little disappointing. I felt the strawberry syrup tasted very artificial and it was overly sweet when combined with the condensed milk. The portion size was huge so we couldn't even finish half of it. The staff were friendly and very patient with us while we decide on what we want to order. Overall, we enjoyed the desserts and can't wait to come back to try out the savory items on their menu next time.

The interior of this place felt like I was dropped off in old time Taiwan! It was fun to look at all the decor. We only came here for dessert. My husband got the tofu pudding with soy milk which was good and not too sweet. I got the oolong tea jelly which was so refreshing and yummy! You can really taste the tea in it. Service was okay. We did order a drink but I think they forgot about it and felt really bad. I would definitely come back if I wanted a refreshing dessert. I may come back to try their food next time.

Honestly food is soso and not enough options on menu specially noodles, feel bad to say the coffee jello was the best for my dinner combo. The day I went the only noodle on the menu sold out ‍ Services was good thou

I love desserts here! We'd been to the one in Vancouver last year and just realized there was one in Richmond. It's quite small and the parking lot is on the back side of the front entrance (easier to park on the street). Service was quick!

Stumbled upon this lovely decorated dessert place. It is a sister restaurant of @memorycorner888 but their focus is more on snacks and desserts. We ordered a combo each, which came with side dishes and a tea jelly option, and oden. I also got a drink with the salt milk cap. The salt milk cap was perfectly salty. The best part of the meal were the tea jellies. We got one Earl Grey and one peach green tea. The peach green tea was a bit too sweet for me but the Earl Grey one was absolutely delicious, refreshing, and milky. I have to go back to try the rest of the tea jellies!

    Cabbage dumplings

Delicious food & great service! Ordered the cabbage dumplings and Taiwanese sausage. So tasty!!! On par with dishes I've ordered at Din Tai Fung. The restaurant is cute and cozy. Will be back.

She wanted to go to Kirin. Plenty of parking in the mall. Hostess greeted and seated us promptly. Restaurant was busy but not crazy. This was at 10am on a Thursday. Waiters were attentive. Usual table service was in place. Took our order and food came out at acceptable pace. When we were done, they politely boxed up the leftovers and we paid our bill. So service was on point. The food we ordered came out hot. The staples that I order to test was hargow, suimai and pai gwut(spareribs). All 3 dishes in general were good.....the hargow could have used an extra minute or 2 in the steamer. The suimai was very good. I tasted every ingredient in this dish. Usually it is just a complete mix and you can't discern the different flavors. They tried something different with the cheongfun by adding pieces of Chinese donut to the roll. I personally think it didn't add much to the dish, taste or texture wise. I did like the pea shoots with shrimp. I think it is a good combo. All in all a good dimsum. I also noticed they did not charge us a tea service. The cost of the food is comparable with other restaurants at this level. Yes come on a date or impress business clients/boss or family celebrations.

On a typical Sunday evening, the restaurant is usually fully occupied, but my friend had thoughtfully made a reservation a week in advance, so our table for five was ready upon arrival. As always, the restaurant was clean and well maintained, with good airflow thanks to the wide-open front entrance facing the parkade. The front desk receptionist greeted us cordially, and we were escorted to a cozy table in a comfortable location -- not too close to the washrooms, which I appreciated. Our meal began with the Kirin Special Assorted Cold Appetizer, followed by Crab Meat, Dried Scallops, and Fish Maw Soup. The soup arrived piping hot and was delicious, with a generous portion that could easily have served eight people. We also enjoyed Pea Tips Braised with Bean Curd and Assorted Mushrooms in Consommé, Marinated Free-Range Crispy Skin Chicken, Fillet of Cod Sautéed with Seasonal Vegetables, and Live Crab in Consommé with Ginger and Green Onion, served with E-fu Noodles. Overall, the quality and taste of every entrée were excellent. Service was top-notch -- tea and hot water were refilled constantly, bones and used plates were replaced promptly, and the servers were friendly and engaging throughout the evening. My friend and his family have apparently been regulars at this location for over two decades, which likely contributed to the exceptional attentiveness we received. However, one aspect of the experience genuinely disturbed me. All servers, including the captains, continued to wear masks at all times. While this practice was understandable two years ago, now -- five years after the onset of the pandemic, with COVID-19 managed similarly to other seasonal respiratory illnesses -- the continued universal masking in a fine-dining environment feels unnecessary and detracts from the overall guest experience. Fine dining, in my view as an avid foodie, is built on human connection, hospitality, and personal interaction. Masks create a more impersonal, almost clinical atmosphere. In a well-ventilated space like this, the environmental risk does not seem to justify the visual and social trade-off. Rather than providing reassurance, the persistent masking may unintentionally signal that the environment is unsafe or that management is out of step with current provincial health guidelines, where masking is now a personal choice rather than a mandate. Final verdict: Food & Service: 5/5 Ambience: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 -- as the current aesthetic feels more like a relic of 2020 than a leader in 2026 hospitality.

Hei Hei Rice Roll is legit good, totally recommend, even my daughter too, I thought of her ( since she LOVES rice roll and couldn't make it on this trip with me) while enjoying these roll but when I shared with her the photos and mention that we will go back here with her- she already visited. She said it was so good! Hei Hei Rice Roll is located at the Richmond Public Market, oh wow - this place is really popular, on the 2nd visit I was the first in line then the line wasn't so long but while waiting for our order, the line got super long. I was lucky I didn't wait long in line. Best to arrive early. I am not sure what the secret to the rice roll but Wow, it's so thin, silky, smooth texture with the toppings, so great together. The last 2 times we had rice roll with my daughter at Portland and Seattle- followed per Instagram reels- those did not even compare to these rolls. My first visit I got the combo which is the best deals, starts at $15.50 but depends on what you select for the selection for rice rolls and congee. I got the pork & preserved egg congee, shrimp, mushroom, pork rice roll. The 2nd visit I got the combo again, with liver & preserved egg congee, scallop and shrimp rice rolls, but I got my order wrong for the roll- they missed the shrimp. fyi-I found out that bean sprout, corn, toppings are free! Both combo came out to $17. super cheap! Cash only, they take USD but its the same dollar $ value. I wish they take credit cards, hehe. & the Verdict: Yummy, the congee hits the spot for comfort food, loved how it is cooked and they add peanuts too. Love the packet of sauce for the rice rolls, the umami-ness, so good. Best to eat it hot and fresh! Don't forget to ask for chili sauce, to add that extra spicy kick! For now, I am not sure I'll ever find a spot that is closest to Hei Hei for my congee and rice roll fix until I get to visit Richmond, BC again.

No round tables - only smaller square tables - which means it's better designed for small groups rather than large groups. We ended up trying a number of items: - Beef Belly Skewers: Very good. Everyone loved them. I wished we had ordered more. - Chicken Skewers: Ok. I think asked for something but they ran out and gave us gizzards and hearts, which are never good because they become mealy and not enjoyable to eat. - Dungeness Crab with Salty Egg Yolk: Good. Prepared as well as lots of restaurants. They provide disposable gloves to eat with, but nothing to crack the shells. - Stir Fried Vegetables: Good. No complaints. - Fresh Fish with Tofu Hot Pot: Very good. - Fresh Fish Steamed: Very good. - Lobster with Sticky Rice: Very good. Service is really very good. Genuinely more friendly and talkative than I'm accustomed too, but I appreciated. Overall, a good meal. It was different in that the decor and service is what really stood out, and that's the difference maker compared to most other Chinese restaurants with the same quality of food. The braised combo is pretty solid - I didn't really like the funkiness to the intestines (I generally enjoyed it in barbecue settings) but the fish cake was fantastic. I also liked the texture of the pork ears. The Taiwanese egg wrap was a bit tasteless, so I wouldn't recommend. Braised pork sauce rice is the lu ruo fan which is a large portion with seaweed, bean sprouts, and soup on the side. Pork chop was flavorful and juicy but not crispy batter, which is okay. Yam taro mochi balls were sweet and chewy. I don't like taro but I loved this dessert! Service is okay. They give a water jug for self pour but the water jug was of questionable cleanliness. The specials were not discounted so we called it out and we weren't told that we had to put the order with a server, not the QR code, so it was a strange interaction.
