We got our first puppy during Covid in May. He's very cute and center of attention if we bring him anywhere. He is very playful, full of energy..the only downside is he's picky eater. We dicovered something wrong with his hearing when he was 4-5months old. We did test and turns out he is completely deaf. My fiancee and I got Watts back in March 2015. We waited 6 agonizing months to get him since we really wanted a red mini-poodle. Aside from the fact that he's a real life teddy bear, he's the best. So great I went back for another! My family had poodles my whole life growing up--I know and like the breed a lot! I have wanted a chocolate poodle for years. We bought a puppy from Bev that was born in April 2019, and she recently turned two. We waited for a cream female to be born. The mother had two females in the litter that were cream, in addition to having several males. The two cream females were the runts of the litter--one had a black nose and one had a pink nose via pics sent us shortly after birth. Shortly before we were to come to visit to choose the puppy, Bev informed us that she had forgotten about another customer having placed an order for a cream female and she would have first choice. It left us anxious about which puppy we would actually be able to get. She notified us that the lady chose the pink nose, but we thought they were equally as cute and my daughter was leaning towards the dark nose. When the time came we picked her up and excitedly took her home. She was so little and sweet! Shortly after we started a puppy plan with a local vet, we noticed that she was defecating a gelatinous matter, which the vet diagnosed as Giardia, a condition common to Beverly's area, according to the paperwork inserted with her paperwork. After treating her for the condition with medication she appeared to normalize. She turned two in April and due to Covid-19 wasn't able to get out to meet and socialize with other dogs for quite a while. However, we take her on walks nearly every day, yet she continues to aggressively bark at every dog and person she encounters. She doesn't seem to have a filter for appropriate behavior. It also took quite a while to potty train her. I had called Bev about the Giardia problem and she gave me some advice on what the vet should recommend. She also advised me that she was retiring from the breeding business. It seems that many people have enjoyed getting her dogs over the years and we were sorry to hear that. Our little girl is very pretty, loving, sweet and very athletic (loves catch, fetch and tug of war), and is an adorable dog that we love a lot, but I sometimes worry about why it is an impossibility to train her to stop barking at people and other dogs we encounter, A recent trip to the beach for a couple days where other dogs tried to play with her was unsuccessful. If there were 10 star ratings, Bev (vet tech with 30+ years experience breeding toy & miniature poodles) & staff would receive 10 from me. We were in the position of our last rescue being on her way out. I never would have considered a poodle for myself--thought I was a poodle hater. But, my sister, who lives in Nevada, wanted one, so I started researching for her out this way, thinking I could bring it to her. There was a poodle living down the street who the whole family loved, so on a whim, I went down and asked the owner where he got her. He gave me Bev's information, about how she socializes the pups, and how Trixie was housebroken on day one (not so ours). He said she might be retired--he wasn't sure. Well, she's not retired, thank goodness! My sister had a particular color she wanted in mind, and when she was ready, she signed up with Bev. Meantime, we signed up for any color female, any size (toy or miniature) and our litter of cream poodles came first. We take our Zoe to Bev for all services and she has never forgotten Bev. She gets so excited that she wees a bit. We went home with a starter kit of recommended food products, vitamins, crate, bath, blanket, chew toys, treats and picked out Zoe's first toy, "Squeaky Pinky" (which she still has). Bev kept her one extra week because the mother wasn't ready to wean, which was fine by me. If they stay with Bev beyond 12 weeks, they bond with her, which makes it a little harder. I can email Bev any time with any kind of question and she gets back to me. We took Zoe once to a local vet for a foxtail and she had to be lightly sedated to have it removed. Believe me, it was costly. Bev told me she could have done it without putting Zoe under at all, but there was a mixup and we couldn't make it to Colfax that day and Zoe was yelping in pain. Long story short, Bev arranged for my sister's puppy (Gracie) to be flown to Vegas with a flight attendant friend and everything worked out beautifully for her too. We see litters of pups each time we go in there and have "adopted" one more, Frannie by going back on her wait list. Biggest problem we've encountered is people saying, "I want that dog." I tell them I can give them the breeder information and they say, "No, I want your dog." Sorry, folks, they're ours. We will share them, but that's it. Oh, one more thing. Zoe crate trained the first night for sleeping with almost no whining. If we had confined her to a smaller area in our house, as Bev advised, it probably would have been faster to housebreak her, but I'd say of all the dogs we've had, she was the easiest. Frannie's been much easier to housebreak, and crate trained first night also in her own crate. Now they happily share a crate. If you're looking for a non-shedding breed to rescue, it will cost you about 1/2 what Bev sells her poodles for, and you might have to wait, but it's possible. I got my pup from Bev in the summer of last year. He'll be 1 year old next month and has been more than I could've hoped for! He is a service dog in training for medical alert and is already way ahead of his age range, he really never had any "puppy behaviors" like chewing and whatnot, he is one of the healthiest dogs I've ever owned and so much more! I purchased my toy poodle Oscar from Beverly when he was only 12 weeks old. He just turned three years old and he is wonderful. We got him in order to keep my old toy poodle, Oliver, (who is 18 years old now) active. And he does his job. Oliver may be an old man, but he runs around and plays with Oscar. I honestly think that Oscar has helped Oliver live as long as he has. Oscar is a very sweet dog, he's very playful and usually obedient. My experience with Sweet Misery was great. I met Beverly through email and told her what I was looking for and she let me know when she had a puppy born that fit my specifications. Getting my puppy from Beverly has been one of the best things I've ever done... Oliver ( my toy poodle) is so smart and so "perfect", it took no time to house train him, he pretty much learnt to use puppy pads overnight ( not exaggerating). The first day I got him, he slept through the night, didn't cry or whine. He just followed me all over the place. The second day, I taught him basic tricks, by the third and forth day, he already knew how to "sit", "paw", "shake", "down", "up"; "go get it', "stay", "leave it"... that's pretty impressive. I've already had him for almost a year now( in 3 days), he's learnt a lot more since then, but he's still the same sweet, playful, mellow, and loyal little guy that I fell in love with the second I saw him at Beverly's. EDIT: Months later, and after spending thousands of dollars on training, we can finally live with our dog. For those who did not see the initial review, our pup displayed dominance aggression at a very young age (~3 months). Be wary of the fact that there may be temperament issues with the dogs being bred here. I may have just had bad luck, but just be careful. Furthermore, the fact that this breeder flies puppies across the country is worrisome. From what I've seen, truly caring breeders don't do that to 8 week old pups. read more

4 years later I love my dog, he is perfect. Bev, the owner is responsible and patient throughout the entire process of selecting and purchasing a dog. She is not pushy and seems genuinely interested in matching the dog's temperament with its future owners' and their lifestyle. My dog arrived in NYC by plane in good health ( I took him straight to the vet to get him on track with all of his puppy tests and shots) he had a slight case of parasites, which was treated with some oral medication. Apparently this is normal for puppies to have undetected little stuff- I was freaked out and annoyed he was "sick," Bev was generous enough to send me the correct meds. Like I said, generous as this was previously undetected and totally normal. He has been in perfect health since. Well, except for breaking his leg at the dog run-- small dog owners, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you immediately get insurance for small puppies it WILL save you money in the long run. If you live in NYC I would advise against getting plans that include reimbursements for shots etc- they will overestimate the annual cost and you will essentially paying them more then your doctor or vet. Just get a plan that includes illness/ vet visits etc, not maintenance and care. I would recommend PetPlan they reimbursed quickly for my dogs leg-break and saved me $6k. read more

It is paramount that Importation/transportation of prime training subjects remains a real necessity in our programs of pups to people! The law enforcement departments the world over import carefully chosen dogs as superior animals for ANY training program, they must be hand picked for qualifications, thus transport is a absolute MUST. Climate controlled transport within the cabin space for tiny dogs accompanied by a on board passenger is a totally acceptable mode. Believe me when I say great dogs come only from great kennels! The socialization received at SMP produces fine, companionable, intelligent Toy Poodles! I can only espouse the 5 star ratings of this AKC Breeder of Merit! I am personally familiar with four other SMP products besides my own two , the pups shine in intelligence, ingenuity, bonding, curiosity, train-ability all with adherence to AKC Toy Poodle standards. For all these reasons and many others, I have the ultimate respect for Beverly Enoch's breeding program. The phrase " you get what you pay for" resonates in the time, efforts and evaluation REQUIRED of any canine reproduction specialist program.. Lacking knowledgeable pup raising skills in the new home leads to a plethora of problematic concerns Much like human babies, the efforts, time, adaptation, and care with puppies from he very moment you bring your furry bundle home from a breeder. Don't wait weeks or months to begin training for positive results start on day one! Please, always consider the effects of the new home environment, the people who adopt the pup, the efforts NOT put forth by that adopter which can or cannot taint the personality, temperament and outcomes of any puppy. I have personally recommended this fine breeder to several family, friends and co-workers with equal successful homing of Toy Poodles so distinct that I can recognize a SMP when we meet on the street without the " Parent" telling me it is in fact a SMP!
