This dessert place is located in a plaza with a lot of free parking spaces. My mom and I came here after seeing an advertisement on Facebook where they had a deal for buy 1 get 1 free red bean, grass jelly, and pandan jelly dessert from june 19th to june 22nd. I also got one creme brulee and tiramisu macaron. The place itself was very cute, aesthetically pleasing, and cozy! The red bean, grass jelly, and pandan jelly dessert was really good! It wasnt too sweet and I really enjoyed the topics on it. I ate every bit of it. However, the portion size was a lot smaller than I expected. The price was also on the more expensive side. The price of the dessert was 7 dollars, which I think is quite expensive for how small the dessert is. Only half of the cup, or even less, was filled with dessert, while the other half was all ice. The ice was also the chunkier ones, as opposed to small tiny pieces that are easy to chew on while eating the dessert. The macarons were really good! They weren't too sweet and had a good crunch and softness to them that I really enjoyed. My favorite was the creme brulee but the tiramisu was also good! They didn't taste artifical! I would definitely come back and get more! Overall, the service was good and the desserts were good but they were too expensive, especially the che. This place is located across the street from Bolsa Grande HS and Garden Grove Park in a small plaza. Sweet Mood is spacious with lots of seating where you can enjoy your Vietnamese dessert. We ordered the C1 Sweet Mood Dessert combination. It had a variety of lotus root, jujube (dried apples), water chestnuts, and lotus seeds over ice. It wasn't too sweet, but nothing special. I felt like I was eating contents out of canned goods. It honesty did not taste like chè or Vietnamese dessert at all. We also got the Coconut Dessert which was mostly ice, some coconut, peanuts, and coconut gelatin, topped with an icy ice cream. It was average. The experience was a little disappointing. Perhaps we ordered the wrong items, as I noticed they had an avocado dessert as well, which might be better. They also serve hot desserts like peanut and sesame desserts. I may try that next time. A cute space that was decorated for the lunar new year. after reading the reviews I may have had too high of expectations to try out the dessert here. Was wanting some hot dessert and Yelp shows me this place. Upon entering there was a friendly gentleman who greeted. The only hot dessert that aligned with what I wanted was black sesame puree and I added with sweet potato which tasted like mochi. The price for one cup is quite pricey since it only came with puree for $7. Though the taste is great. This place needs to learn from Fresh Meat who offered hot dessert with some inside like mochi / ube ball with higher price but customers don't get charge every dollar when asking for topping on a plain menu. Not sure how long the store has been open but the desserts here are pretty good. We like che dac biet (number 1). Their avocado che is pretty good too. Their macaroons are good. I believe we tried a flavor called blue berry and it was good (tart). Some flavors can be kind of sweet but if you like sweet, you probably like. We also tried fruity pebble flavor. Unfortunately, I have to give a one star review because I was met with the worst customer service. I come into a nearly empty shop and patiently wait at the case of macarons while an employee helps another customer at the register. I don't look confused, I don't look like I'm deciding - I am looking directly at the staff clearly ready to order. A couple minutes after me, another lady walks in and lines up behind the customer at the register, giving her no personal space. Surely the employee will know to help me first. Nope, he proceeds to help the customer who walked in after me while she pretends to be oblivious that I was there before her. When he gives me his attention, I ask the both of them "So did it seem like I wasn't in line or...?" He replies, "O-oh, you can order now." All good, honest mistake. He then proceeds to spend 10 minutes making the order for the lady who cut in front of me instead of boxing the already prepared macarons which would have taken at most 2 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous. Trust me, I'm a people pleaser & rarely speak up when something is wrong but this just went beyond that. Never giving this place my business again. read more

It's really pretty on the inside and the staff is friendly but unfortunately their Che falls short. We order the number 2 which was supposed to have 5 different things inside. What we got instead was 2 different types of beans, a lot of it, and 1 clump of green jelly or tapioca. It was stuck together and no amount of force with my croon could cut it separate it. In the end I ate it all in 1 giant bite. I guess if you count the ice and coconut milk it was 5 things in there. Basically it was mostly beans and the jelly clump. The flavor was good. Sweet and refreshing and I loved their crushed ice. unfortunately quality fell short especially for the price for 1 cup of Che. It was about $6 so after tipping, I paid a little over $8. Service was friendly and the coconut milk and ice was my favorite part of the Che. Not a big deal for me, but they had some desserts on a large tray cooling on the table outside by the register. I love a good che spot and I was very excited this place opened up They have a good variety of different ches and macarons. It was a cold night and I appreciated that Sweet Mood had some hot/warm ches and desserts. I got their peanut one and added water chestnuts for some crunch. I am glad I did because it went with my warm peanut dessert very well. It was very enjoyable. Their macarons are $2.75 each but they are currently giving one free with a dessert. I got their fruity pebble macaron and that was also enjoyable and good. The inside is cute and casual. They have tables and chairs for you to sit and hang out. A cozy space that definitely deserves more foot traffic for their stellar customer service, being super welcoming and letting customers know about promotions. The owners I believe are the ones working the times I've been, and I can tell a lot of heart goes into their shop. Now, take this with a grain of salt. I was not too impressed with their chè, and the one I tried was the red bean one. I am quite particular with my chè, so your miles may vary. The chè tastes fresh and healthy, but I believe they can improve this even more with proper shaved ice, since the little chunks of ice used in the dessert alternates the texture in my opinion. Their most known chè from what I am told is their black sesame one, but I've not tried it, so I cannot comment on that yet. However, this place has amazing macarons. They're fairly priced between $2.75 to $3, and not too sweet. This is coming from a girl who wouldn't go out of her way for macarons. I've had the chance to try the following flavors: 1. Creme brulee- my favorite 2. Tiramisu- enjoyed this one and it would rank 2nd for me 3. Pistachio- which I think is okay. I tried their vanilla bean and very berry (too tart for me) but didn't care for those flavors as much. You can always call the store in advance to check what they have in stock that day. On a side note, there's a crochet artist who sells her work at the shop, and that corner is filled with adorable crocheted critters. A nice little dessert shop where you can find some Vietnamese desserts, drinks and macarons. I believe they are fairly new maybe about a year or so since they have been open. The interior is pretty with a good amount of seating area and different sorts of lounging chairs. The first thing I got for drinks was their Vietnamese Coffee since it looked so good. Out of all the Macarons the Yuzu and Crème Brûlée were the ones narrowed down to even though I wanted to try everything but that wouldn't be good for my waistline. Lastly to say I've tried one of everything I had ordered the Sweet Mood Dessert (C1). It was just ok to be honest, not much depth besides the nice fruits like lotus roots and dates in it but the flavor was a little too mild for me. The macarons were tasty and definitely of good quality. Everything was good but what added the 4th star is the amazing service and personality that Bill brought to the place. Located not too far away, I quickly made the drive. Upon arrival the staff immediately greeted our party. The macarons were plentiful and the flavors were really enticing. The drink and desserts had plenty of offerings so it took me some time to think things over and browse. Staff was really nice and patient. Purchases: C1. SWEET MOOD DESSERTS [che dac biet sweet mood] VERY BERRY MACARON DURIAN MACARON *complimentary BROWNIE To be clear, Sweet Mood doesn't offer the typical Vietnamese desserts. Their take on sweets is a lighter, healthier, and more refreshing approach. The sweetness levels are moderate- just enough to leave you satisfied but not overly sweet where you feel like you're eating and drinking your way into diabetes. The Sweet Mood Special dessert was loaded with ingredients but was missing the purple ingredient seen on the menu [I'm guessing it is the ube aspect]. Flavoring was good. I'm all about my sweetness levels reflecting the "less is more" motto. The crystally jellies contained a nice bite in the center & was surrounded by that chewy outer shell. Lotus root, lotus seeds, snow fungus, and dried jujubes were prepared well. The macarons were "delicious" according to my 5yo. She inhaled them one after another. Each shell was slightly chewy and had that airy lift you'd expect. I was impressed with the seeds found in the Very Berry's filling- this is an obvious sign that actual fruit is somehow being incorporated. The durian flavor contained a light scent of the fruit, nothing overpowering or scary. Shout out to the staff for giving us a brownie sample. This too was a healthier twist on the typical Americanize dessert. The chocolate ingredient/flavor stood out but was not overly sweet but contained the rich flavoring you expect from this item. 4 out of 5 stars. Staff is kind and patient. I'd recommend Sweet Mood for those looking into a healthier treat or for those who are a bit more sensitive to sweetness levels. Wow! We stumbled on this place while driving home from Westminster. It was one of the few dessert places still opened at 8:00 pm. We were greeted by the friendly staff and the Owner let my youngest daughter pick out an ice cream flavor on the house! He also let me other two kids each pick out a macaroon. I believe this was part of their grand opening special... or the Owner is super nice. We ended up trying a couple different treats. I was really impressed how well the toppings were cooked. I usually don't like lotus seeds, but it was cooked perfectly with the right amount of crunch and not too sweet. Although this place is known from their traditional Vietnamese desserts, there's plenty of other treats. Restaurant is pretty straightforward. Decent size, but probably not the best for large groups during rush hour. We were able to carve out enough tables/chairs for 7 people, but we were huddled around 2 tables meant for 4-6 people.
