Funny how as of recently, there is nothing nice to say about this salon. I recently moved to this side of Costa Mesa and was ecstatic to find a new salon walking distance away. My first time getting my nails done, they came out amazing. On my first visit, I was given a menu of different services and even upgraded to a spa pedicure. I have gone back 3 times since and was never offered any additional services (even though I'd be more than happy to pay for them!) This last visit was honestly the final straw though. No one smiled and I did not feel welcome. I arrived 4pm on a Wednesday and was the only one in the salon. I honestly felt like they were rushing for some reason. For example: my gel manicure and pedicure took less than 30 minutes to do. I watched on as she groomed my toes and she was barely even skimming my nails! When it came to scrubbing my feet, a good 3 seconds were spent on each. Lastly, the male technician hardly even put lotion on my hands. My cuticles are dryer than what I arrived with. I'm truly disappointed because I would love to come back but when you're paying $50+ for a service that is supposed to relax you and that's a luxury, it's upsetting. I feel robbed for the amount I spent this evening and you should be ashamed of yourselves. I tried SO HARD to like this place. After three different visits, I have officially given up. My first visit here was amazing. Right down the street from my house, newly remodeled, and fun vibe. Carolyn and her father are SO sweet. I got a cookie and water upon walking in, and her dad kept refilling the water for me throughout the appointment. She took the time to really see how we could fix my nails after they'd been messed up by another salon for so long. We decided to go with the dip versus my usual acrylics to let my natural nails grow. I got a loyalty card. I was really, truly happy and thought I found the perfect nail place. My second appointment, I showed up, waited, and my appointment was cancelled. I couldn't come back later, so I had to deal with it. It was some sort of family emergency and I was more than understanding, Carolyn also accommodated me for this at my later appointment by giving me a discount. And discount nails is what I got! The design was cute, I got sort of a geometric accent nail at Carolyn's recommendation and I was happy with it at first. They started lifting at day 4 and by day 8 started hurting they'd lifted so much. We tried to coordinate an appointment to fix them but the schedules just weren't working. I got nail glue and dealt with it myself the best I could. One of the nails (remember, I was trying to grow out my natural nails?) Snapped off. What was all that growth progress for then? My hands look awful and I have a whole weekend of events coming up. I asked for another appt. I finally get an appt down for mani/pedi. Carolyn personally booked it for me, gave me names and all. I normally go to her, but she's out of town. I thought it'd be smooth sailing. WRONG. I walk in at 5 minutes til. Every. Chair. Is. Filled. I let them know I had an appointment at 6. I get told it would be few minutes. Fine, not unusual. 6:10 rolls around. I get into a chair. Water isn't hot. Hell, it's not even warm. And I waited. And waited. And waited. Until 6:46(!) when someone FINALLY started my toes. To be fair, I said anytime after 5:15, but when I make an appointment and plan other shit I have to do, this is just RIDICULOUS. I told them I wanted to go back to fake nails. Another girl comes over, I tried to tell her sort of what happened and what I wanted to do, she straight interupts me to speak to another technician in their language. (I'm a very patient person, I don't mind if they speak to eachother how they please, but after all this, can I at least finish my sentence? Act like you care?) She starts taking the dip powder off in a hurry with a fake acrylic. This isn't uncommon and when done with tact isn't even painful, but because she was so rushed, she shoved the acrylic under my real nail and I had to YELL out loud for her to stop. Now I'm bleeding. I'm pissed. And she walks away! It's now 7:06. My toes are almost finished. Another tech has started a pedi on a walk in. And I'm sitting here with bloody fingers. Thankfully, since I've had SO much time to sit here and stare at my shredded hands, I'm looking at my nails and some are GREEN. I don't know if it's fungus or what, but I've never had this issue. 7:16: I got moved to a different station and I'm FINALLY getting my hands done. Two techs have confirmed I, in fact, have fungus. They asked me where I had my nails done last. HERE. TWICE. I'm crying in the chair. I am beyond frustrated. The girl taking care of me is trying the best she can to console me, but I'm just fed up. She answered a call and put on another girl's top coat while shaping my nails. They're too long. "I'll file them." They're crooked. "I'll file them." Okay. Whatever. Not worth the argument. Still in the chair at 8pm. About halfway done. Could have been eating with my boyfriend. But I'm here. It's 8:23. Another girl who had an appointment has also been waiting over 45 minutes. Two walk ins have been helped and an appointment left because she waited too long. The girl helping me fixed the length a bit. I am pretty sure she sees me on Yelp, so she's trying to be helpful. Cool. She didn't use bottom coat? Whatever. Over it. I just finished. It's 5 after 9. The girl has the NERVE to say they didn't charge me to remove the old nails. OH?! HOW NOBLE OF YOU. I gave her a $5 tip for trying a little bit to make my experience better. Carolyn's father tried to help as much as he could. Held the door for me and all. Carolyn and her father are SO nice. That's the ONLY thing that made this go from a 1-star review to a 3. She tried to make things work. I genuinely wish her sucess with this salon, but I need some time to consider IF I'll be returning. read more

I have to say I was skeptical about this place first bc of the recent negative reviews but I decided to give it a try anyway, and I was so glad I found this hidden gem. The salon is nested in the lil corner of Pomona & 19th st, Plenty of parking in the back. Inside has cute decor, neat, and clean. The new manager and her staff greeted me with warm smiles and even offered me water. I needed a full set and since my nails are so weak and thin, I was afraid of the electric file so Khanh was very gentle, she soaked them off with acetone. She's also a perfectionist and her techniques are seamless. I showed her the picture of the ombré nails I wanted and she made them look even better than what was in the picture. I am so happy with my nails and definitely would come back for a fill and pedi soon!
