I spied the goofy face on the side of the barn from the freeway and am a sucker for toys, so we detoured to take a peek. I really liked the rustic interior; it gave it some charm that not a lot of toy stores necessarily have. The inside wasn't too overwhelming or overstimulating, and there was a variety of items available for sale, most notably: toddler toys, puzzles and games, playmobile, science/outdoor stuff, plushies, and candy. The selection wasn't overly abundant, and I think they could probably do more with their square footage, if they wanted to. I thought it was cute they had a little nook with a table and chairs and a "game of the week" sort of set up so you could try it out if you wanted. The employee working there was friendly and sweet. I got a small plush Douglas brand fox (because I collect fox plushies and I didn't have that particular design yet). In the basement they apparently sell bait and tackle, which is sorta hilarious. As it was winter when we stopped in, the ice cream attachment was not selling. Rats! Maybe next time we head to WI?

I was in Delafield and realized I needed a couple more small holiday gifts, so I finally decided to stop in. I'm really glad that I did. There was much more there than I expected. Inside, there are rooms filled with all kinds of games and toys. The selection ranges from board games to action figures and everything in between. There truly is something for just about every age and interest. If you are in the mood for something to eat, or want to buy a tasty gift, they also have a case full of different confections. I ended up picking up a couple of items. The staff were friendly and helpful during checkout.

My main purpose for stopping in was the bar soap as I was gifted it from my bestie and needed more. Well, this trip to Olivia Di Vita turned into us getting lost in here. Let me tell you I never thought I'd lose track of time in an olive shop... was I ever wrong. First, we were the only ones in here and wow, that was so nice. We took advantage of it and tried as many olive oils as we could stomach which was a ton. What really caught my interest and taste buds was the honey ginger balsamic water. I first looked at this like what am I about to taste? Well, a whole new world! I've been missing out my entire life and I'm officially hooked. The second snack I tried was popcorn with butter olive oil... WOW, talk about tasty and finger licking good. I had to talk some sense into myself and only leave with a small olive oil and the bar soap (remember, the entire reason I walked into this store). Mary Ida was so helpful and friendly. Yes, I'll definitely be back. Sign up for the rewards program and allow yourself time in here to browse, and have fun!

I had breakfast in Oconomowoc this morning and I jumped on yelp when I was done to look for a meat market and this place was five miles away so I drove over, they needed a Steve stop by anyway because of zero pictures of the place. The place has a nice mix of prepackaged items, pre prepared, sausages, meats, sticks, deli, beer, wine, smoked items, fresh items etc etc. I always look for hot sticks and at least one other house made item to take with me. I ended up getting a package of the hot sticks and the smoked pork chop vs the smoked polish sausage was a hard choice but the sausage won. Im updating this review after cooking the polish sausage and I really liked it because it was moist/tasty/lean with no fatty/grisly chunks with that great snappy casing. I ate it all natural for an honest tasting and it's very worthy of a nice piece of good fresh of bread and fresh toppings. The hot sticks were pretty tasty/good but not very hot to my taste and 100 times better than the big name sausage company in Milwaukee that was just a total let down. The good thing about always trying new things all the time and all over is you know what's good and what's not. I have not tried the polish sausage yet but I will update my review when I have.

Compared to other German Markets it is still quite small but it was packed and I heard good things about it this year too. It's a great boost to the economy of such a pretty little town. Much of what you will find are jewelry, trinkets, handmade goods and soaps. But if you don't like what the Christmas market has to offer then feel free to visit the shops around town. Many of the shops ans bars actually had pop-ups in the upper floors that were selling goods too. Don't be afraid to ask or explore if you see other people milling around near stairwells. What made this one stand out, and wanting to come back, was the beer hall. Music, food, drinks, tons of strangers. It's not my normal cup of tea but it was definitely a reason to stay and warm up a bit. And once you've had enough of that, go outside, buy a cup of cocoa and sit by the fire or walk around town to take in the sites. It's really pretty at night. And, buy a giant pretzel when you go. And don't share it unless you have to. So good! Parking was the only issue I've had here. We ended up parking down near the courthouse I think, but be prepared to drive in a few circles looking for spots to open up. The walk is never too far but it can be a bit agonizing finding the perfect fit if you are awful at parallel parking like I am. From my experience prices are fair but look around at everything first unless there is a one of a kind item you must buy. Just like anywhere else, there are some multiples, so you can find a similar or same item for less at another booth - depending on how competitive the vendors are with pricing.
