I was craving a "fancy coffee" has my husband calls it and OH MY GOD…read more This place is truly a gem within the Foxtown area and one I'm glad we stumbled upon! The interior is huge, allows for a variety of seating, including the patio, has a butcher next door and provides both pastries and coffee at this location. The cases were filled to the brim with beautiful pastries of all kinds - both savory and sweet - handmade and absolutely delicious! We opted for a box of 6 pastries, ranging in taste and size, and my Honey Almond latte and I was in literal heaven. The pastries are HUGE and we happily split with family. The coffee was a little sweet but hit the spot! Although it's a little pricy, it's worth every single penny for the thoughtful service and quality of ingredients/items! YUMMMM!

Date of visit: January 11, 2026…read more The latest edition of our monthly bakery stops brought us to Interurban Coffeehouse, the rare Foxtown outlet that doesn't actually have "fox" in the name. Points for the name, borrowed from the nearby trail and surely eliciting squeals of delight from the old school train crowd! Front of the house staff were very friendly and patiently explained the different pastry options on offer--many of which looked amazing. First we went with breakfast; my brioche egg sandwich was quite good though my husband found his english muffin sandwich to be bland and unremarkable. Unfortunately, their food system needs some work. I ordered the sandwiches for dine in with my name. The kitchen staff prepares the orders, hurriedly mumbles a name on their way out of the kitchen and unless you are standing in the right spot to hear him, you don't know if that's your order or not. Making matters worse, our food was prepped to go. Staff did offer to plate it, but it seemed silly to also dirty dishes and plastic containers so we declined the offer. The pastries are really where Interurban shines! I had half of my husband's cinnamon roll three days later and it was amazing. Like Costco cinnamon roll amazing. And my roasted pineapple cheese danish was phenomenal the next day hot out of the toaster oven! I was going to take a picture but I devoured it before my wits were totally about me, so you'll just have to take my word on that one.
