Got a box of 25.00 cookies. They added 4 peppermints and the rest of the box was tainted with the taste .the cookies seem sloppy and I have had better cookies else where ,I should have bought one to try and than judge...lesson learned. The bakery is inside another store, "Vintage Barn Chicks". It is just that - a bakery, and not a cafe. Don't expect to come in for coffee and dessert. It is, rather, a bakery with lots of gluten free options for breads, cakes and desserts. They also seem very open to experimenting with other food restrictions (egg, dairy, etc.) and I can see how it would be appealing to people with food allergies and problems. While I am not sensitive to gluten or any other food, I do like to vary my diet. I believe there is too much soy and wheat and everything we eat already, and do enjoy alternative foods for balance. And for taste! Many of the gluten free options are delicious! And while I enjoyed finding a place with as much options as this place had to offer, I wasn't wowed. To be fair, I am only comparing the cookies I had here with other gluten free cookies, and I must say, I've had better. Also, despite the friendly "ask about" signs, asking questions to the person manning the cash register was like pulling teeth. They weren't friendly, and made me feel like I had to hurry up and leave. As much variety they had in the store, I didn't feel comfortable looking through the items. My husband and I stopped into this bakery and got the Twinkie like pastry and that was delicious! My husband is GF so it was really neat to find out about this bakery. We picked up the gf garlic bread to take home and make later. We came towards the end of the day so you could tell that they had been busy and sold a lot. I had tried their products in grocery stores ONLY to find out that it was made locally and near a place I would be for work within the week! DOUBLE GRANDSLAM HOME RUN BATMAN! Its a little hard to find, but Mapquest somehow knew and put in key pointers like "if you hit this street youve gone .2 miles too far) but if you take 94 W to 16 then get off on the K exit and then take your first right down a frontage road it is right by the big silo.. I havent found anything there I didnt LOVE.. we tricked my dad who is a notorious complainer when we have family events and make things gluten free for me about the taste.. EVEN HE LIKED IT! Pizza Crusts- AMAZING! if you arent cooking it on a pizza stone or anything though watch out because the sauce tends to leak through the aerated pizza crust.. again.. NOTHING that would EVER cause me to NOT buy this. They also have premade pizzas if thats what you are looking for. Ginger Snap Cookies- DELISH.. they actually taste like cookies and arent too crunchy... just really done right The French Loaf- AMAZING! I made garlic bread that tasted like garlic bread for the first time IN FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Such a relief Choc Chip Cookies- REALLY GREAT! They were gone before I even got a chance to put them in the freezer... which brings me to my next point: Marbled Rye Loaf- REALLY REALLY GOOD! I made a grilled cheese sandwich on this stuff yesterday and it was DIVINE! The bread holds together without being too dense. Its amazing. Seriously.. get out there... This is one of my favorite food-related places these days. At the suggestion of my Dr. I needed to do an elimination diet with no wheat for 30 days. This did not sound appealing to my as I love my breads and I would not have made it through if not for Molly's! So many good things, where to start? Everything in this bakery is GF and delicious. The bakery makes those wonderful pizza crusts for Transfer and VIA, looks at their reviews and see the raves for yourself. The take home version is just as delectable. The thin cracker like crust bakes quickly, browns well and tastes fantastic! Pita bread- makes excellent personal pizzas a little thicker than the pizza crust. Everything bagels- Good flavor but best to keep frozen and pull out what you need. Frozen Soft Pretzels - one of my favorite things to get here. Not on their regular menu but they seem to have some in the freezer each time I go, which I appreciate. Large almost stadium size with no salt. Bake them for a crispy crusty outside and a soft and fluffy inside. Not only was Molly's a lifesaver during my elimination diet, they continue to be my go-to place for wonderful bakery good, even though gluten free is no longer a necessity. read more

I contacted Molly's to make the cutting cake for our wedding, and despite it being one of the busiest times of the year for their team (Thanksgiving weekend) they went the extra mile to ensure that my wedding cake was everything I wanted and more. The cake was absolutely beautiful, exactly as I pictured it, and I kid you not, was the best cake I've ever had. Not sure it would be possible to give anything less than 5 stars to Molly's. The service, either in person or over the phone, has always been extremely friendly. Anything I have ever gotten from Molly's has been amazing. From pumpkin loaf to sugar cookies or pizza crust. I recently went to an event hosted at Molly's and they went above and beyond for us. I went there expecting to have a couple of cookies to try and maybe a slice of pizza. I left will a belly full of delicious food! I live in Milwaukee and often pick up their products at the Sentry on State St. Although just as delicious, it's just not the same as picking it up fresh from the bakery. The first time I went here I must have walked in late because the lady who helped me did not seem happy to see me. It was my first time going there, and I didn't know I had to walk into one of the other shops to find the place. However, I didn't let that discourage me and I have gone back a couple more times because I really like the place. They have a pretty decent dairy free/egg free selection here that they keep in a fridge/freezer behind the counter. Molly's made our cutting cake for our wedding. Being a gf Milwaukeean I was very aware of the tastiness of Molly's products (coffee cake anyone?) but I had never had their cakes. Mary was so easy to work with! We communicated via email which was really helpful since planning a wedding meant we were available at odd times. DO NOT go here if you are a VEGETARIAN! I am extremely disappointed I bought pita's to find out that they were made with gelatin. I thought it was odd there were no labels on the packages. When I went in again I asked to see what was in them and gelatin was in there. I looked at a couple other products and noticed all the basic white dough had gelatin including the other bread. I have been a vegetarian for 9 years and stayed clear of gelatin products but, it is now ruined. I should have asked to see the list of ingredients but, I also think Molly's should have labels on there food. Some people may not think twice of gelatin or butter being in bread because it is not common. The only reason I give this two stars is because it's partly my fault. I want to inform vegetarians/vegans who may not think twice about gelatin being in their bread when it very well could be. read more

Every time I visit Wisconsin, my mom makes sure to have the fridge stocked with Molly's for my arrival. Every time my mom visits me in NYC, she makes sure to bring a suitcase full of Molly's goods. First of all, the prices are ridiculously cheap. By gluten free standards, and even regular bakery standards. You would think the quality would have to be compromised because of the price, but no! I think I've tried just about everything Molly's has to offer from their extensive selection, but some notable items on my list are the mint chocolate brownie (I thought I was eating a non-gf brownie when I first tried it and got a bit scared) The brownies are so moist and just the right amount of mint. The creame cakes, wow. They are like a high-end version of a twinkie. So, so good. The lemon bars, amazing. The pumpkin cake with frosting, wow. The little raspberry cakes, Ohmygod. The english muffins are great - but I would say they are more like t he consistency of a crumpet. But who cares, it's good! The everything bagels are great toasted with some butter or cheese. Yummmm. I really can't say enough good things about this place. For the quality, price and variety of goods, you just can't find anything even close in NYC! read more

What a blessing it has been to find Molly's bakery! My son is allergic to wheat, dairy, all nuts and eggs.
