We were looking for a place to have a nice sweat treat. It was recommended by my daughter and it was amazing. The place is well kept, friendly service, and unique fun flavors of ice cream. You have to try the waffle cones it's like a cake sooo yummy. The ice cream was also on point. We loved it and will be back
The perfect post-run treat with friends! Stopped by this cute little place to reward ourselves and tried their seasonal Mango Rice Ice Cream topped with a toasted marshmallow. It was the perfect small bite after a workout. Bonus points for the cute atmosphere and inclusive, all-gender restroom!
It amazes me when I haven't left a review for a place that I've been to many times and is something I really like. I probably just assumed that I had already done it. Well, now I am :) Sweet republic is an amazing ice cream shop in the valley. With multiple locations and rotating ice cream flavors with new seasonal options, It's pretty fun to come here. The ice cream tastes great and the staff are friendly. I come here typically on a bike ride as I live not too far from this Tempe Town Lake location. I know I don't need a "treat" to ride my bike since riding when the weather is nice really is a treat itself, but this also doesn't hurt ;) If you go enough, be sure to sign up for the rewards so that when you get scoops or other items, you can get some points for toppings or free cones. This location is located in the Watermark shopping area, adjacent to Tempe Town Lake, and right outside the ice cream shop there are water fountains and seating areas and when the weather is nice it's really beautiful to sit out here and eat ice cream. There's a small 4 spot parking lot directly in front of it, but if you need more there's also garage and street spots in Watermark. I usually get a different flavor every time I come and have to sample 2 to 3 options see which one I like best. This time I had their seasonal flavor-- blueberry lemon custard pie, and it was absolutely delicious. Of course I'll definitely be back on another night, or day, bike ride, so here's my overdue review.
Yes, it's as amazing as everyone says. Sweet Republic offers a great assortment of classic ice cream flavors, along with unusual, interesting flavors. The sundaes are amazing. The ice cream is not overly sweet with great creamy texture. This location is pretty small so I always sit outside, where there is lots of seating, some trees, and a soothing water feature, as well as lovely views of Tempe Town Lake. I think the pricing is pretty darn reasonable, about $8 for two big scoops on a fresh made waffle cone.
I don't get a lot of ice cream but after a long walk at night we were looking for something sweet and this place hit the spot. They have some flavors I would never think of trying but if you are adventurous then be my guest. They don't have any seating inside but there is plenty of seating outside. For customer's there is a restroom too...very important! Enjoy!
I love sweet republic, they're my favorite ice cream in the valley! This location is right by Tempe Town Lake. The interior is small with just a few seats but there's some seating outside and you can walk by the lake. I got a scoop of the mango sticky rice which was incredible and so creamy. The staff were nice.
Quick and easy spot to grab dessert. They have classic and unique flavors! They have shakes, ice cream, and other desserts. They're located pretty close to ASU so great for students or when in the area. ig: @cravingswithcat
( This is the third of five reviews I've prepared for describing some of the food I ate while I was out in Phoenix, Arizona. ) When it's hot out, it's the perfect time to get ice cream. In-between work, I explored outside just to take in the sights -- on the one hand, it's a great way to experience a new location for yourself! On the other hand, though, it was in the high 90s to low 100s when I was out there; probably not a good idea to be outside for a long time when it's that hot out. Thankfully, as I was in the Tempe Town Lake area, it didn't take me long to find Sweet Republic! A small, locally-owned ice cream shop with three locations in Phoenix and Tempe, they're well-known for using locally sourced ingredients and having some of the wildest and most interesting flavor combinations I've seen. This isn't your grandma's old-time ice cream shop, that's for sure. Between the heat, and the fact that we didn't grab dessert from Mi Amigo Ricardo earlier in the day ( see my review on that place for details ), it was inevitable that I'd be lured in to try what they had to offer. As I was saving my appetite for later that day, I opted to get two scoops. Not only was the ice cream refreshing, the combinations were unlike anything I'd tried. I got their blue moon and blueberry honey basil flavors, which presented a very intersting, complex mix of sweet, a little bit of savory, and even some floral flavorings. Of the two, I think I liked their blueberry honey basil the most, because the combo of blueberry and basil was surprisingly very good and something I hadn't tasted anywhere else. The blue moon was also good, but I will admit that the combination of blue spirulina and lemon made it taste a bit too medicinal for my liking. Those kinds of unique ice cream flavors are the kind that I wish we had out here in Vegas, honestly; our most well-known spots tend to be a bit heavy on the classic flavors like vanilla and chocolate. Certainly, if we had more places like Sweet Republic in town, I'd be more willing to brave the summer heat to get ice cream! For now, though, all I can do is think about when I plan to come back to Phoenix next time -- until then, please come out here and try Sweet Republic! I guarantee you'll like it.
I learned about Sweet Republic last week and just had to bring my mother to try their delicious ice cream over the weekend. This location caught my attention because they have a sliding window to take your order so you could stand outside if you have a pup with you! I love that idea and totally plan on returning with my dog when it's a bit cooler out. As for our visit, I ordered a two scoop sundae, with buttermilk strawberry and almond buttercrunch ice cream. For my toppings, I did the toffee and hot fudge. The toffee is a must try and I believe it is made in house. My mother had a two scoop waffle cone with almond buttercrunch and rocky road ice cream. She was really pleased with her selections as well. One thing worth mentioning is that parking initially seemed quite scarce near this spot, but there is a parking structure nearby and the friendly employee at Sweet Republic validated our parking so we didn't even have to pay to park!
Our experience with Sweet Republic has never changed; the quality of their ice cream and their service is always top notch! The weather in Arizona is dropping, which means that it's perfect ice cream weather! If you have never been to this location, you will find it near Tempe Town Lake, by the water fountains and palm trees. The parking is located inside the garage, but four parking spots are available in front of the shop if you are lucky!! I recommend signing up for emails and following their instagram for all flavor updates. They also sell pints of some of their flavors. This is a wonderful location with a beautiful view especially at sunset and night.
I love ice cream and this place did not disappoint. Their scoops ofice cream was a good size. I should have just ordered 1 flavor. I got the Almond Buttercrunch Ice Cream and Strawberry Buttermilk Ice Cream, these flavors were so good that I craved it after I got back home. The place was small, there were no indoor seating. The workers were kinda friendly. At least they were not rude or too nice, kinda cold but professional.
Sweet Republic really is some of the best ice cream you can find in AZ. Don't believe me? Then believe all of the awards that they continue to rack up. We finally made it to the Tempe location. There's limited parking is available, but we lucked out and found a spot during our visit. The shop is pretty tiny inside, so definitely recommend grabbing your scoops to go. If the weather's nice, take a stroll along Tempe Town Lake with your treat. The staff was super chill and didn't rush us, even though we couldn't decide (everything looked so good!). We finally settled on scoops of their always flavors - Salted Caramel Swirl and Brown Butter Pecan and seasonal summer flavors - Sweet Berry Cobbler and Peaches & Cream. So worth it! The flavors are top-notch and you can really taste the quality. If you're in Tempe and craving something sweet, you've gotta hit up this Sweet Republic location. And seriously, don't miss out on trying some of the fantastic seasonal flavors or their specialty sundaes!
This place was such a fun surprise! We were just looking for a sweet treat and went to the closest location. It ended up being a hidden gem! It's decorated super cute inside and the workers were all very friendly and welcoming. The ice cream was soooo good, I'll be back for sure!

This local joint has a cool feature where you can have a freshly roasted and toasted marshmallow on top of your ice cream. The flavors are lighter tasting yet unique. I opted for the carrot cake and I got to try the horchata too. There were so many great flavors to choose from including black earl grey tea and oatmeal cookie and even a black sesame seed flavor. The pricing is a bit high for the scoop and i wish there were half scoops to get a couple flavors in one cup for those of us watching our figures yet love variety :) I'll definitely be back for more. The only place you can get the Best Blue Moon ice cream ever.. I'm so glad this brought back to the menu and I hope it stays forever.. so the flavors are great. Very chill place to have a good scoop of ice cream with family and friends. read more

May 2021 bring us all 5-star and sweet experiences! *Ahem* I know, I know, any place that describes themselves as "Artisan" deserves an eye roll but not Sweet Republic! I'm glad they finally found a location in the east valley. I got the Banana Toffee Pudding this visit and boy was it delicious! I couldn't even wait to get home to finish my lunch first. That single scoop of smooth, creamy, sticky sweet toffee with the unmistakable real banana flavor was just too much. I had wanted to get a double scoop but I'm glad I stuck to the single scoop because I all but ate the dang spoon! New location. Couldn't find it but it's facing the Main Street. U need to park on the side and walk to it it. It's by the palm trees. Basically across crumbl cookies. Got the blue moon which is pretty good. Taste a bit of lavender and my brother and coworkers say it taste like fruity pebbles. Also I got the Belgian chocolate. Really good. Synopsis: Absolutely amazing shakes for a decent price. My girlfriend and I are vacationing in the Phoenix area and were recommended to try Sweet Republic for their shakes and ice cream. We stopped by about an hour and a half before closing and didn't have to wait in line to make our order. We both ended up getting milkshakes and they were delicious. Everything is made fresh right in front of you. The prices weren't too terrible either. Only reason I'm taking a star was for the subpar customer service. Guy was clearly tired and ready to go home being that it was the day before Christmas. He wasn't mean or disrespectful, but he was a bit off putting and borderline rude. Certainly would recommend this spot should you need your craving for ice cream or shakes quenched. 4 Tasty Stars out of 5! read more

Cute to go location with a walk up window and a lots of open space to eat outside and enjoy your ice-cream. There were 4 non dairy sorbet flavors available today, watermelon with chocolate chips seeds, strawberry, coconut and dark chocolate. This location is perfect for our winter weather and at night with the strings of lights woven through the palm trees definitely would make would make a cute date spot. read more

This is really great ice cream joint, there flavors change seasonal which unlike other ice cream parlors have the same flavors year round, at Sweet Republic you get new flavors year round depending on the month and the time of the year. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality. The staff are really friendly and it's never a an unpleasant experience going to grab an ice cream cone or a milkshake. read more

Yum! Enjoyed a sweet treat here after my workout today. I sampled a fair amount but my favorite two were actually the coconut sorbet and the brown butter pecan, so i got a scoop each of those! I'm always excited to try a new ice cream spot, but admittedly was a little defeated when trying to find this place. Parking was definitely not the easiest, don't waste your time looping around for a spot outside - you'll end up on an upper level of the garage anyway. The address lead me to the main building of the center. After about 3 loops I found a directory and learned that it was actually attached to the apartment building across from me. That being said, my main recommendation would be to up signage and communication on location. Because frankly, you don't want to miss this spot! There were so many fun, unique flavors to try, it was difficult to make up my mind. Ultimately I settled on the Banana Toffee Pudding - it tasted just like a slice of delicious banana bread! They had a great icon system clearly noting any allergens a flavor may have. It was nice to see that no matter what dietary restriction you may have, Sweet Republic has options for you. Service was friendly, quick, and the space felt comfortably clean and upkept. Looking forward to a trip back to try a Crème Brûlée scoop next! read more

Stopped by after visiting Tempe Town lake. Situated in a nice pseudo-downtown style area, we were able to eat our scoops under some nice palms and lights. We got Mayan chocolate (somewhat spicy but very good), chocolate (classic), and fudge swirl oatmeal cookie (also quite good). Sweet republic has been on my to try list for a while so I was beyond excited to see it was right next door when I was in the neighborhood for something else. This location is fantastic as you can enjoy a scoop of ice cream and then take a nice stroll along Tempe Lake. I tried the sweet potato and marshmallow which was one of the best ice creams I've ever had. I also tried the salted caramel which was delicious as well. Despite its name sweet republic does a great job of balancing just enough sweetness without being overwhelming. This was definitely top 3 ice cream spots in PHX area. One of my favorite Tempe spots for date night dessert or with friends! Parking is available although it is a bit hidden towards the side of the building. They have a robust and dynamic menu that changes. Flavor concepts are original and can make choosing the right one difficult since they are all yummy (don't be shy ask for samples ) Pecan Turtle Sundae is my wife's fav and I'm a fan of the double brownie ice cream. The sorbets are yummy too! Give them a shot. Great customer service, quality product, and it is really pretty at night! read more

Not going to lie...I'm not a HUGE ice cream fan...but I liked the butted pecan in a chocolate chip cookie sandwich. My 6 year old son (who only likes froyo) said that the chocolate ice cream with rainbow sprinkles was "even better than froyo!" So that says a lot. The location is so cool. I can't wait to see more people hanging out around here and see what other shops go in! read more

I had gone here for the first time a week ago after learning about this place on the TV show "Unique Sweets". Let me say that I have been missing out and am so happy to have found this place. I had gone on a Saturday night and both employees were super nice and friendly. The store was super clean and had many flavors to choose from. I was dying to trying the Toffee Banofi Sundae that was shown on the tv show. And let me tell you, I was not disappointed. This was one of the best sundaes I've ever tried. The one thing I would recommend anyone who goes here and tries their sundaes is to share this with someone if you are not that hungry. It is a lot for one person to handle if you're coming here after dinner, which I can't be mad at. I'll be back for another sundae soon!!! read more
First time here but I was drawn here for the reviews and pics. I got the campfire s'mores sundae and it was amazing! Comes with two scoops but I chose one scoop with Madagascar vanilla it was so good! They roast the homemade marshmallow on top with a torch and I think it gives it the perfect touch. Their waffle bowl was also good quality it was crispy and light. I also read that they believe in high quality ingredients. They sell their homemade marshmallows in a bag to go and pints of ice cream as well. I'm willing to pay more for better quality and better taste. This was at their newest location in a modern new shopping / residential plaza building. If you go at night there is pretty lights outside the store front. I would definitely give this place a try I was very impressed. read more
Came in mid afternoon on a Sunday. The girl behind the counter was super pleasant. You can sample a few flavors. They were okay - nothing super exciting. The mint was definitely the oddest mint I've ever tasted. It honesty tasted like a mojito. Ended up getting a chocolate shake (my boyfriend said it was good - very rich). I just got a scoop of the vanilla with brownie and chocolate with marshmallows and nuts. Total was about $12 read more
