This ice cream spot is mine and my friend's go to when we eat in the area! The portions are always huge for the mini scoop. When the nice worker did my friend's ice cream, I had to tell her to please give me less! Quality is always consistent and staff are super friendly!

Ice cream are ok . Been coming here for years but they keep increasing prices now $6.99 for mini on top of that 3% credit card fees ! I'm done no more coming here there is another ice cream on Cahalan much better

Huge "container" is 3 single scoops: Coconut Pineapple at the bottom, Mango in the middle, and Pralines and Caramel at the top.

It was our first time here tonight. We've driven by here plenty of times, and we know they've been here for years. We walked in and it was crowded. But people were just chatting inside, and just needed to take it outside, which they finally did. Then it didn't feel so cramped! Lol The menu was quite extensive and took us a good bit to look it over. Everything looked delicious! But once the staff started scooping the ice cream, wow... they weren't stingy at all! Normally, you feel kind of ripped off paying so much for a couple of scoops of ice cream. But these gals were so generous, and on top of that, FRIENDLY... what a nice surprise! You really feel like you get your money's worth. And it is delicious! We'll be back, for sure!

How have I drove by this ice cream shop for years and never came in I saw an instagram reel that you can mix fruit into your own yogurt and knew I had to come try it. I'm a tart plain yogurt kinda gal and just their base was so good already. They have frozen fruits like peach, mango, strawberry, and berries. Each fruit is $1.8 extra. You pay for the size of the yogurt base you want and they mix it all up in a yogurt swirl machine. I got just mango with mine and it came out so creamy and delicious. My new go to whever I'm craving yogurt

    Small yogurt and a large

Service is horrible and their prices for yogurt are ridiculous. Bought 2 large and 1 small yogurt and was charged over $60. There small and large yogurt are also identical but the price isn't.

    Strands of plastic

I found what appears to be plastic shavings mixed throughout my frozen yogurt. After pulling strands out and examining them, I believe they're coming from the plastic cone used in their mixing machine. The drill mechanism seems to be shaving plastic directly into the froyo as it mixes. If you use this place, check your cup carefully before eating. This is a serious food safety issue and I'd encourage the owner to inspect their equipment immediately.

I've driven by this current Sweet Retreat many times while in the area. So glad to finally be able to stop in. I used to go to their previous location off of Cahalan Avenue close to 7-11. Always crowded especially during the Summer months. Classic, creamy, old fashion flavors with big scoops and tasty milkshakes.

The original tart yogurt with mango is 10/10 in flavor but the store's system of one worker helping your entire group is inefficient. It takes about 5 minutes per person's yogurt in your group, so it takes forever if you have 3+ people.

Came back to this place to try their house made frozen yogurt . You get to pick whichever ingredients you like to add into the yogurt base and they will blend it. I chose raspberry and mango while my sis chose blueberry and banana. The sizes we both got were a small but holy moly they were very generous with the portions. I felt less guilty eating this considering how it's yogurt.

Not bad for single scoops. Got plenty in mines and the flavor hits. Bubblegum flavor has a lot more gum, which was pretty funny.

Nostalgic flavors from my childhood in a gelato format? :)…read more I came to Marco Polo on a Friday evening and ordered two small cups for my partner and I. This is my third time at Marco Polo and it really hit the spot. The location is in Vietnam Town, on the far right side, next to Pho 90. When I went this time around, there was no lines but there were still people sitting in the store eating their desserts. Parking here can get tough because of the plaza itself so just a heads up to folks who do not frequent the area. What makes Marco Polo so special is their Asian gelato flavors that you cannot really get anywhere else (that to say a lot of places are now expanding their selections). This was the first spot where I could finally get my hands on durian gelato and it was absolutely delicious. The store itself has around 3 tables for you to sit in and is pretty bare boned. It is good for a grab and go but with the limited seating inside and outside you could spend some time here. Service is quick and you are able to try out some samples. This time around I ordered black sesame and Pandan, while my partner got mango and lychee. It was near close so they ran out of mangosteen unfortunately when I went. While the flavors were great, stood out, and were bold, I will say texturally it was a bit icey for my liking but that might have been because they started crystallizing from being out for a while. Overall, this is a small business I will continue to support!

It was definitely noticeable in the soft serve and made everyone else around us notice it too. The soft serve was smooth and creamy, not icy like cafeteria quality soft serve. It didn't taste like there was only durian essence mixed in, it tasted like there was actually durian blended into a smooth cream that is then frozen and swirled into this nice frozen delight. The ambiance of the shop was cool too. It had a giant mural like painting of a big soft serve in a cone for photo ops and the colors were painted light with blues and pastels for a calming vibe inside the shop. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, and I really liked the decorations inside. It is a comfortable place to sit, chat, and hang out with friends. Our group ordered the avocado smoothie, soursop green tea, and durian soy pudding. The durian soy pudding had that distinct durian smell, but the soy pudding made the overall flavor a little bland. The ratio might have been slightly off. Two of my friends ordered the avocado smoothie and thought it was okay, but they wished it had a stronger avocado flavor. The appetizers were the highlight for me. The popcorn chicken was definitely the best item we tried, and the curly fries were also good. We also ordered a combo with fried fish balls, lobster balls, and fried tofu. It was decent, but nothing really stood out. They have a large menu with several items that caught my attention, so I plan to try something different during my next visit. Overall, Sweet Corner is a nice place to relax and catch up with friends, with good snacks and plenty of drink and dessert options.

It's an interesting blend that kind of works, even if it takes a second to figure out what the "theme" is supposed to be. They offer a wide range of desserts and drinks. On one side, you've got items like tartufo (chocolate, cappuccino, limoncello, pistachio), sorbets, and cheesecake slices in the display case. On the other side, they have traditional Vietnamese-style desserts like sweet soups (chè), grass jelly, black-eyed bean pudding, and combo desserts with things like cassava, jelly, and coconut. There's also a solid drink menu with milk teas, fruit teas, smoothies, and specialty coffees. I ordered the latte with matcha foam, and while I don't usually go for sweet drinks, this one was definitely on the sweeter side--but still really good. The matcha foam added a nice earthy balance to the coffee underneath. My friend got the three-color iced drink (the one with layered beans and jelly), and if you're into that texture and flavor profile, you'd probably enjoy it. The service stood out. The man helping us (possibly the owner) was very friendly, patient, and took the time to explain menu items, which I appreciated since some of the desserts aren't as familiar if you haven't had them before. The display case also looked well-stocked and clean, with everything neatly packaged and labeled, which made it easy to browse. Overall, it's a solid spot if you're in the area and want something a little different from the usual dessert shops. The only reason it's not a full 5 stars is because the concept feels slightly all over the place, but the quality, variety, and service definitely make it worth checking out.
