I picked the strawberry and tiramisu which honestly didn't match too well together. Strawberry was slightly bitter end and tiramisu was sweeter. But it was still very good ice cream. I got a dubai chocolate cup from la dolce vita. The chocolate was hardened. We thought it was frozen but realized its not cold at all as I kept it out. It was soo hard and in a container that I couldn't eat. It was a 8oz jar. Upon checking the container we found the manufacturer date as 2/21 and today is june 30. I have tried their gelatos a couple of times and they are really good . The service is great . You can ask them for a little sample before ordering your gelato. The pistachio gelato was spectacular! I tried a couple samples: the mango was very fruity and fresh, cookies flavor was on the sweeter side. There were too many to try but I ended up with the pistachio California gelato that was verrrry delicious and smooth earthy nutty flavor. My bf got the lotus he said it tasted like biscoff cookie but creamy and sweet. The customer service was great no line at the mall surprisingly on a busy Sunday. The booth of the store was clean from what I can see from the outside which is great. Always a great place to get some ice cream after/while shopping at Oakridge. They have a lot to choose from, also love that you can get waffle and crepe with ice cream, such a nice combination. Great service too, since they allow you to taste which ever flavor you want before ordering. My husband had an flavor that combined almonds, caramel, and something else I cannot remember, but it is light brown/beige in color. He liked it, but I thought it had a strange aftertaste. At a prominently located Gelato shop in the mall, the display of various ice cream flavors looked incredibly tempting. I randomly chose the Panna Cotta with Blackberry flavor. The ice cream had a delicate and smooth texture, mixed with blackberry jam. I usually don't like when gelato doesn't taste like actual gelato, or is like a bland ice cream but this isn't the case here. We were craving for some sweet crepes and so excited to find out this place in South SJ. It's inside Oakridge mall, across from Daiso. Servers were super nice and willing to let us taste whatever flavor we asked for. We got the banana and strawberry crepe with one scoop of chocolate ice cream. It came out $13 per crepe with tax and tip, which is not bad with the high SJ minimum wage (you know what I mean). I personally like my crepe batter to be lighter and crunchier. Their batter is kinda cakey which make it harder to be crunchy. The servers were really nice to offer tastings on the spot. I think there is a maximum of 9 flavors you can try out. I tasted the lemon mint and it wasn't my favorite, so I chose something else. They have a wide selection of flavors you can choose and I felt that picking a small size (2 flavors) was good enough. The portion the team provides for the small selection was quite generous. The flavors I selected were mint chocolate chip and strawberry, both in which were delicious and refreshing. I think for a hot summer day, I would like to try the sour flavors next time. read more

They put all the "goodies" in a heap on top of the ice cream on display which leads you to think that you are going to get a loaded scoop. I am not a sweet tooth person usually. But after 3 hours of shopping at the mall I passed by la dolce vita ", what a beautiful place. The decore itself is mind blowing! I saw a guy walking away with a delicious plate topped with fruits. And I craved it immediately! I ordered the waffle with two scoops , topped with strawberries and bananas. The waffle was crispy and soft from the inside, the gelato was very rich and smooth, you could taste the actual ingredients (no artificial flavors!) . They top it with different chocolate syrups that tastes heavenly! You could taste a real Belgium chocolate not a cocoa and sugar blend. This place will change the game for the real gelato experience! I've been here twice now and if you want ice cream and you're in the Oakridge mall then this is your best bet. Their gelato is fine. It's not amazing. I've had better, in fact I've had better ice cream. But if you're stuck in the mall and want something more unique you're kind of stuck with this place. Their gelato is a bit too sweet and not as smooth/creamy as some other spots, so again it's your best option but not a destination itself. The service here is so slow. Every single time, even if there's only 1 or 2 people. Really takes forever. The people move like they have weights in their shoes. Maybe they should swing by Baskin Robbins and see how they serve to get an idea how to speed up the process. The coffee here is just terrible. Weak, milky, bland. One of the sad situations where Starbucks is preferable. If you want to eat without going far there are some tables. It's usually not super clean but neither is the mall itself, so you shouldn't expect too much. Again, this is a good option for the captive audience of Oakridge shoppers. If you're already here it's fine. But I wouldn't go out of my way to try it. read more

New gelato shop that offers rare flavors that's freshly made. Guava, blueberries, strawberries, pistachio, chocolate... you name it. We tried matcha, guava and sugar free pistachio and chose the later one. Love the guava, sweet, sour, fresh. Pistachio is still sweet surprisingly. "Beeeest gelato ever!!!", says my 7 year old daughter. Though her gelato experience is more limited I've backpacked Italy and can't say she's wrong. They didn't have banana in detoxing tonight so I can't say if it was yellow (bad) or brown-grey (good). But they had several caramel based and fruit flavors available.
