    Kha soi

So delicious! We got the combo pho and kha soi (curry noodles). Both had lots of flavor and are generous with their portions. Service was super nice and efficient. Clean, new feeling vibe. We will definitely come back to try more menu items.

Another review here said it best...I cannot believe this place is just casually serving FIRE Vietnamese and Thai food under one roof at Janss. This place is one of my favorite places to eat in the Conejo Valley. I've loved their menu even before the rebrand! Now Sweet Rice Kitchen is back with even more flavorful dishes and bigger portions. My go-tos are their pho (still need to try the post-rebrand version) and pad see ew. I love how light their pad see ew is - not too salty or sauced. If you're down for something more rich and sweet/savory, get the Khao Soi. There was so much meat and noodles that I couldn't finish my bowl! Tips: I recommend ordering all their dishes "spicy." I did not get any spice even with a "mild" level. And always order a Thai iced tea to go with your meal!

As we entered, we were immediately greeted and the waitress seemed busy and asked us to grab menus as we went ahead and sat ourselves. We looked over the menu for a few minutes and then she came by and asked if we were ready to order. We were still looking at the menu, so she came back a few minutes later. We were now ready and placed our order. We went with pad see ew with shrimp, veggie egg rolls, house fried rice with chicken, and papaya salad. It is so nice and inviting inside, with the sounds of the wok being worked. Everything came out pretty quickly, and the food and service are amazing as usual! Everything was well made. The flavors are great, the ratios are perfect, the amounts were right. It was all good!!! Definitely give this place a try!

Delicious pho and honestly such a great experience. Being pregnant makes me extra picky about cleanliness and meat quality, and this place totally passed the test -- super clean, fresh ingredients, and the meat was high quality with zero gristly bits (which I really appreciated). Everything was flavorful, service was quick and friendly, and I'll definitely be back.

Pho brisket and Basil Leaves with a Singha and watching the NBA highlights oh yeah! What else do you need. The male cashier and the owner are wonderful and go over the top to make sure your at home and all your hunger pains go away. Perfect meal and great people.

It would have been a five star review except for some missteps in service. A group of us went on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. The place wasn't crowded so we were seated right away. Everyone ordered various dishes. I had the spicy eggplant and the Lomo Saltado with tofu. They were both delicious. The problem was with one of the dishes. Someone in our group also ordered the Lomo Saltado with beef but for some reason it was taking forever to come. Everyone else got their dishes except that one. We had to ask the server a few times. When it did come out it had the wrong protein, they brought it out with tofu instead of the beef. I felt bad for my friend. Not only did she have to wait a long time for her food but it came out incorrectly. She told the server but she went ahead and accepted it. I think she didn't want to wait again. The server at that point should have been more apologetic and even possibly offered a complimentary drink to compensate for their mistake. I was a bit disappointed in the lack of service recovery. Good thing the dishes were tasty and most likely we will be back again. Hopefully the service will be better next time.

    Ribeye pho

Had the ribeye pho and it was ready very quickly and delicious! The staff are friendly and attentive. I've also had the khao soi which is incredible and nice to find as not all Thai restaurant serve it.

I've come here for pho many times, but forgot to leave a review. Today, I had Garlic noodle dish with Parmesan, and it came with horseradish dressing on side for the lil shrimp. The papaya salad was fresh and flavorful. Staff are friendly. Place is clean..all good!

Came to have lunch, after the gym, and recall there was a ownership change. I was super hungry and wanted try 2 dishes however wanted it in " to go" boxes , so I can pack them up. The server was very friendly and understood wanting to nibble on two meals. The drunken noodles with beef was awesome! I had it medium spice level, however it felt kinda hotter than that however it was tolerable to devour. Great portions and good amount of vegetables & meat. Their other speciality ( per their menu) is orange chicken however they use thigh meat. I typically don't order this dish but the impulse was there and must go forward. It was also very good. I also had a Vietnamese coffee to enjoy. There is plenty of seating inside and outside patio. Would return.

ambiance is casual. Service is done by young bloods lol I mean younger generations- our server was nice and accommodating, very sweet and knowledgeable, but it's like we have to ask for everything. We ordered chicken curry that has soup or juice in it, and we had to ask for spoon on several times... we had to ask for water and straws and napkins. Food tastes great though and good portions for the price.

After witnessing the cook sneeze repeatedly and then handle my food, the microwave, and the rice bag without proper hygiene, I requested cancellation of my order. The cashier informed me that the refund process would take several days or potentially just 10 minutes. Not only was I disturbed by the cook's actions, but I was also told to expect a delay in receiving my refund of $71.52. (while I waited to get a VOIDED receipt, two ladies overheard my conversation with Miguel, the cashier, and promptly exited.) The cook handling food without proper hygiene warrants consideration for him to receive the "Worst Employee Of The Year Award. Due to this incident, my experience at Ot Bistro is a negative star review (also I do not have any comments about the ambiance because in this situation the ambiance is irrelevant.)

We came here for lunch today because my daughter was craving pho and wanted to try someplace new. I reminded her that we came here a while back for Yelp Elite event, but we didn't try the pho that time. Today we had the pho and it did not disappoint. We also had the truffle fries and bacon fried rice. My daughter got a Vietnamese coffee which she said was delicious. The truffle fries were amazing...just like last time. Thin fries that were crispy with a sprinkling of herbs and truffle cheese. The dipping sauces were a nice accompaniment. The fried rice was good with a nice amount of crispy bacon on top. The pho was the star of the show. The broth was flavorful and fragrant. There was a nice amount of ribeye and noodles. The bowl was filled to the top. I'm fairly New to eating pho but this was the best one yet. The staff were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant is clean and well kept. It is just around the corner from the movie theater. There is plenty of parking in the parking structure. We had a great lunch and can't wait to return.

    Ribeye Pho Pho

We originally stopped by Sweet Rice Kitchen hoping for some pho and vermicelli, but found out it had been turned into a Thai place--no more vermicelli on the menu. Bit of a letdown on that front, but we decided to try a bunch of other dishes. We went for the brisket pho first. It was just okay--the brisket was a little dry, and the broth needed more flavor and toppings. The ribeye pho was more tender and definitely a step up. But honestly, it was the Thai dishes that really won us over. The green Thai chicken curry was flavorful and delicious, and we also loved the cashew nut chicken. The highlight, though, was definitely those shrimp Spring rolls. They were super fresh, and that peanut sauce with a little sweet and sour drizzle was just perfect. Everything was crisp and delicious. In the end, the Thai food outshone the pho for us. Service was great and it has that homey feel! It's a convenient little spot in the mall, easy parking, and if you're craving Thai flavors, it's a great little find.

The place was packed, but I have to assume we got really lucky because we got seated right away at an open table near the front. Our server greeted us immediately and brought us waters for the table. We were overwhelmed initially by the menu options because everything sounded incredible. We asked our waitress what she recommended, and she said literally everything on the menu is amazing - nothing is bad and every dish is popular. So I was quite impressed to hear that. My friend and I decided to get the steak tartare, woodfire grilled octopus, fried gnocchi, and chicken liver pate. Every single dish was actually incredible. The chicken liver pate came with four slices of toast, some pickled vegetables and ground mustard. The pate was creamy, rich, slightly on the sweeter side, so it paired perfectly with the tang from the ground mustard & pickled vegetables. The woodfire grilled octopus was cooked perfectly. Seriously the best, freshest octopus I've ever had! It wasn't chewy or fishy at all. The texture was absolutely perfect. It was very easy to cut into and juicy. It was paired perfectly with the aïoli as well. The steak tartare was extremely fresh. One of the things that I hate about steak tartare at restaurants sometimes is it will start to look brown from the meat oxidizing so it doesn't always look as appetizing, but this tartare was still had that vibrant red color as if they had just cut the meat. Lastly, the fried gnocchi was amazing. It's the first time I've ever had a dish with fried gnocchi. They paired it with a cream sauce that was absolutely delicious. I wish I remembered what was in it, but it was so good. I wanted to drink that sauce lol. Love how the gnocchi was also perfectly seared, had no lumps, and basically melts in your mouth. Overall, loved the ambience of this place as well. It's very hip. trendy. Definitely a louder environment but perfect for a weekend night out to enjoy great food. I would recommend making reservations. I think my friend and I probably just got lucky because we went a little bit earlier on a Friday night. Also wanna mention all of the wait staff was amazing. Food was served very quickly and we had no issues with any of our orders. I seriously cannot wait to come back here and try every single thing on the menu!

At the time the dining room was sparsely populated, only a few other tables were seated. We were seated quickly by the hostess and ordered within a few minutes of sitting down; my wife ordered the seafood pasta I ordered the butternut squash ravioli and the tomato burrata salad as an appetizer. After about 20 minutes the waitress returned to let us know that they were out of the pasta, so my wife asked for the risotto instead. The salad arrived quickly, however my wife noted that it was missing grilled peaches that were listed in the menu description, a disappointment. The salad itself was balsamic dressed cherry tomatoes with a single piece of burrata on top. Another 40 minutes later our entrees finally arrived. Much to my dismay my dish lacked any appreciable character; it was as if they had cooked six month old frozen pasta and thrown up a brown sauce with fried sage on top. My wife's risotto was mostly cheese but was also similarly devoid of other flavors. Now to be fair to the folks here, I did mention to the waitstaff that the flavors in the food were off and they did reduce the bill. They were also apologetic about the wait we faced. Nevertheless, restaurants have three things they need to do well in order to be successful: food, service and ambience. Perhaps if they improved the quality of the food and the time to service more people would come. Needless to say, but I won't be returning.

I'd been wanting to go back and take Dear Hubby to enjoy this very special re-imagining of the previous space, which had been an Irish pub incarnation. When our sister-in-law and two nieces were in town, the five of us were able to spend a quick evening together at Selvin's. We had been working on a project at our house, and by the time we got finished and ready to go out there wasn't a lot of time left as we went on a weeknight and they close at 9:00. I'm surprised that having a full bar, and being attached to a hotel property, that they would hang it up so early - even 9:30 or 10:00 would make more sense. It's such a charming place; seems a shame to have to call it a night so early. The ambiance is absolutely divine, especially out here in suburbia. It's very innovative in its layout. The lighting was carefully planned and is very effective in creating a special mood. And, what can be said about the wall of roses? It's tailor-made for snapping fun photos, that's for sure. The chef is sending out creative and Dee-Licious dishes from the kitchen. Yes, I know how to spell delicious, but it is worth adding the accented flair to stating the fact that this is a cut above many other dining establishments in the Conejo Valley. Dear Hubby and I shared Pappardelle Pasta and a Tuna Tartare appetizer. Both were excellent. One of our nieces ordered the taco platter. Wait till you see the photo. The only thing that was disappointing, menu-wise, was that bread wasn't included, so we ordered some as a side. Two little slices. I've forgotten the price, but I recall that it turned into sticker shock when we saw what was served. I'm tickled that they offer a nice array of zero proof cocktail options. They aren't inexpensive - apparently spirits without alcohol aren't any less (or maybe only slightly less?) than the full-spirited options. Still, it's nice to have the option. Our out of town family members LOVED Selvin's; it was a big hit with all of us. As an added bonus, there was a guitarist playing beautiful acoustic music when we arrived and were seated in the lounge area. Major extra credit!
