It been about a year since we last stopped by, since we live about 3 hours away. As always, this place leaves us highly satisfied and feeling like we're really cared for. The food is absolutely delicious, the staff is so caring and friendly, and the atmosphere is very chill. It seems that there is currently some outside remodeling going on, but the restaurant is still open. My husband ordered the red curry with chicken. We agreed that it was delicious. I ordered the Thai Chow Mein and would have definitely asked for another order if I hadn't eaten a whole order of Fresh Rolls by myself lol (I was starving and they came out first, these were only okay in my opinion)! We ordered Sa-te chicken for my toddler, but she was being a little picky today. One of the servers attempted to bribe her to eat her food by promising her a scoop of ice cream. That motivated her to try again, but ultimately she didn't like the chicken. We thought it was delicious though. She still got her ice cream. We were sad to see that our favorite server wasn't working today, but we were still happy with our visit! I go here all the time for special events. They have many seating options for large or small groups. When I went for dinner there were very few people there. The service is friendly and our waiter was energetic. Ordering was smooth. They did forget to make my Thai tea but it was fine when I reminded the server. Their food is always really good. They have like the best shrimp ever there. Their garlic almond shrimp, basil tofu, and basil fish are my favorites. The texture and taste are perfect. This time I decided to try the Popeye tofu and it was good, but I still like the basil tofu more. I definitely recommend anyone to come over if they like Thai food or just want to try something new! read more

"Let me look at my review of this place and see what I said way, back, when." Well, believe it or not... This happened to me at this exact place... Bangkok Avenue located on Thousand Oaks Boulevard. Years ago, when Bangkok Avenue first opened, my wife and I were excited that a new Thai spot had hit the Blvd....errr the Avenue ;) (See what I did there??) So one day, many moons ago we popped in and had an excellent meal here. We even got Thai here a few times to-go and enjoyed it at home. Personally, I swore I had written a stellar review for this place, but apparently I had not. Despite loving this place, we have a Thai place that's a bit closer to us so we've opted to go to that "other place" instead when we are in the mood for Thai. Fast forward to this past April (2025), my oldest daughter had a performance that was being held at the neighboring Thousand Oaks Civics Arts Plaza. Before the evening performance, we knew we wanted to grab dinner so I was like what about Bangkok Thai, we haven't been there in years. So we pulled up, walked in and it's like we never left. In same spot, with the same vibe serving up the same delicious food, I remember why I liked this place so much. While eating, I told my wife, why did we stop coming here? Then I decided to go on Yelp to see my previous review..... Wait? What?? Where's my review??? Oh crap....... I DIDN'T WRITE ONE!!!!!! Well Bangkok Avenue...... This review is long overdue, but don't fret, I gotchu! When it comes to Thai... We seem to be creatures of habit. Meaning no matter which Thai spot we end up at, more than likely we will be ordering the same exact dishes. And trust, Bangkok Ave is no different. I have tried so many different Thai places around this area, and Bangkok Avenue remains my favorite. This time around I got the pad see ew with tofu, crab rangoons, and the cha ma nao. The pad see ew was good, I have yet to have an entree here that I didn't enjoy. The cha ma nao was only alright, I would probably return to the classic thai tea next time (which I do love). I think we finally found a Thai Restaurant here in Ventura County. We normally drive to Sawtelle when we crave for Thai food. We're so glad we visited this charming place and tried their over the top food! First thing I wanted to say is their overly, savory, crispy chicken wings! My new benchmark! I thought Samenza's in Reno, NV has the best chicken wings but this place had me on my first bite! Amazing!! Their Tom yum, Pad see ew, fried rice, and Pad prik king were exceptionally delicious! The flavor was very umami and I could tell it was cooked really well. The service was excellent! Plenty of parking and easy to locate. For years I enjoyed Spicy Squid Salad at another Thai spot, but they stopped serving it, so I was excited to try it here. The salad was beautifully presented on lettuce with a spicy lime dressing and packed with fresh herbs like lemongrass and cilantro. The flavors were vibrant and delicious. My only disappointment was that the squid itself was extremely chewy and tough to eat. I'm used to this dish being served with rice, but that's on me--I should have asked. The restaurant itself is inviting, cute, and cozy, with a warm atmosphere. The staff were extremely friendly and hospitable, which made the experience even better. Overall, I'd rate the salad a 3, but the service a solid 4. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying the Eggplant Curry next time! read more

Bangkok Avenue continues to provide excellent food. The menu offers a nice variety of items. I love their papaya salad. The restaurant has limited seating; there are also a couple of tables outside. This is a super popular restaurant, so I recommend calling ahead to make a reservation if you plan to eat in the restaurant. Otherwise, expect long wait times. It can also be hard to reach them via phone. You can order takeout and delivery via Yelp. Parking can also be challenging to find. Customer service is always friendly. Bangkok Avenue was popping off on Saturday night at 8pm! Really cool to see in Thousand Oaks. We decided to take a chance on a new Thai spot (we LOVE Pookies) and ordered take out. Below is what we ordered and our thoughts... Salted Chicken Wings: wouldn't order again and not too flavorful. Fresh Rolls: These were delicious and the sauce was excellent. Highly recommend. Simply Fried Rice: Excellent rice that was tasty and filled with meat. This was our favorite and would get this every time. Parang Curry: Very good dish that contained huge chunks of Chicken. Not too spicy which is appreciated. Service was exceptional and very friendly. Packaging was airtight which was appreciated. Bathrooms were clean. While we waited for our food they had a tv playing a cooking show and a bar with a couple of beers on tap like Sapporo. Will definitely come back. read more

This place is the best and only place I come to for medium spicy chicken drunken noodles and pineapple fried rice with shrimp and chicken. I've been coming here for years and I noticed that the amount of chicken pieces are reducing. The taste, price, and to go packaging have all remained the same, but you get less of the chicken. The last two times I've gotten the drunken noodles, I was disappointed because I was consuming way too many carbs and very little to no protein. Maybe my favorite Thai place in SoCal for sit-down dining experience. They have a menu with all the staples, and I always grab an iced coffee from them. Food-wise I usually go for the pineapple fried rice. The server/host is absolutely wonderful and is impressive at memorizing orders for larger groups. Ambiance-wise, it's a typical sit down place. Bangkok is a really nice smaller restaurant. And the whole plaza is getting a makeover. Donuts, fashion, Tacos, a Panaderia. Lots going on in this little space. The seating is as spread out at possible, with intimate dim lighting. The parking is a bit precarious, just to warn you. I recommend walking from The Lakes parking if you worry about that kind of thing. Anyway, the staff here is always the best, no joke. The food is made fresh, ingredients tastes fresh, and it's presented well. Love the teas. They even have some nice desserts in a display case. The prices are a smidge higher than some other places, but you get what you pay for and it is worth it. read more

We ordered through Uber Eats and we specifically said we wanted Vegetarian Pineapple Fried Rice and they ignored our instructions and added Shrimp and Chicken. We also ordered a Vegetarian Coconut Soup and it also had Shrimp and when we called the restaurant to let them know nobody answered the phone. We had to throw away the food, it tasted disgusting! Our go to date night and my favorite go to grub hub restaurant My husband and I have eaten here several times this year and always enjoy our food. I usually get the basil fish with brown rice. I've ordered this dish in person and had this item delivered and it's always excellent. The service in person is fast. Once you seat and order your food arrives quickly.
