The gentleman who owns it bills himself as grouchy and surly, but we weren't fooled. He's clearly passionate about his business, his cat, and his coffee, including commissioning his own personal blend from a local roaster. Our lattes were smooth and delicious (almond and oat milk). Although pricing is pretty reasonable, especially for the Keys, I do wish they didn't charge extra for plant based milks. WIFI is available with a $5 purchase, and there is a variety of books to browse and/or buy while enjoying a coffee or pastry.

Stopped in for a chocolate malt milkshake on a hot day. The gentleman helping me was absolutely great. Polite, quick and without a doubt the BEST chocolate malt milkshake I have ever had. He even made it with vanilla ice cream as I requested. I believe his name was Gunner. Young handsome stocky guy with blonde hair. I have known Kate the owner since she started the shop over 20 years ago and am happy to say it is still the very best sweet shop in the Keys. As long as Gunner is working i will be back more often. Everything was very good from the service to the tasting to the ice cream to the price (pay twice as much in NY) to the cute little seating area out back. Had the chocolate peanut butter ice cream and coconut joy after tasting several (which the server had no problem with). Kids had rainbow sherbet (I'm not a sherbet fan but I tasted theirs and it was better than most). Hubby had key lime ice cream - different (in a good way!). The half baked cookie dough cupcake is amazing from here. If you like more tart flavors the key lime cupcake is delicious, with a key lime filling which is a keys go to! My next cake I will definitely get from here, they are beautifully decorated and all have a special filling. Stop here on the way to or back from Key West!!! read more
