Sept 21, 2022, Sweet Savannah (day we picked up the cake) My wife wanted her birthday to be celebrated down in the keys with some friends. I found Sweet Savannah online. She is a passionate lover of chocolate and we wanted it to have as much chocolate as possible. We ordered a chocolate cake with 2 layers, and chocolate icing in the middle. Chocolate varieties of icing, candy etc on top. They did an incredible job. This cake was so freaking heavy. I know some say that about cakes, but I guarantee you it weighed at least 10-12 pounds on a conservative number. It took our party of 6 a week to finally finish it and that was having very large pieces. It was so rich. I could barely eat it without getting a sugar rush. The cake was an absolute steal for what we received. When my friend told me how much it was when I went to reimburse her I was flabbergasted at how inexpensive. I was imagining at least double that price for a cake like what we received. I wish their bakery was up here in Georgia near us. I'd be referring everyone I know to them. Thank you so very much to your staff for making my wife's dream come true. She said she never met a chocolate cake that was too much chocolate... She said she met her match with this cake. The only thing I would do differently next time would be for the bottom layer to have been brownies instead of cake, then a layer of icing and then cake. That would have put this cake into extreme chocolate mode. Sadly I didn't think about it until after we picked it up. I can't praise this bakery enough for the cake we received. Do yourself a favor and don't think, just order from them. read more

Paris and Matt made my birthday delightful! Things didn't go as planned today, so I was pretty bummed out, and I hadn't gotten any dessert all day, so I took my MIL to Sweet Savannah so we could both cheat on our diets. You know that feeling of being the last person holding up the staff from counting the drawer and leaving for the night? I thought we'd be those people. I can't tell you the sense of happiness and joy that radiated from these two wonderful beings. Their smiles and welcoming attitude turned my lemon of a day around. Putting Happy Birthday pins into my dessert made it overwhelmingly special. Sweet happy ending and wow to top it off that Guava Cheesecake Ice Cream was spectacular. Yelp didn't disappoint! Ice cream is delicious! We all had different flavors - so the only real advice I can give is skip the rum raisin. They will let you taste - even though I'm sure the people waiting in line gets antsy. The banana split was huge. Cute little place. Love coming here for desert!! If you've ever passed Savannah's you'll see a line out the door especially on the weekends. You can't miss it I promise They are a traditional hard ice cream shop. Killer milkshakes and Sundays, no soft serve though so do keep that in mind. They do also offer some really beautiful candies and trinkets. This was the best key lime cheesecake I've ever had... however, The level of incompetence of the staff did not match up with how renowned this place is. I would've given it one star, the cheesecake saved it. A word of CAUTION, the things that look like ice cream sandwiches in the fridge section are NOT ice cream sandwiches but rather cookies filled with cake frosting. Because of the high quality flavor level that the other items are at, it really *shouldn't be on the menu* Unfortunately we found this out the hard way. When my husband asked what flavor ice cream was inside the 'coconut joy cookie cream sandwich', the girl behind the counter told him "I don't know". He next requested, "Can you ask one of your coworkers what flavor the ice cream is inside the cookie?" she said "No i cant bcuz none of our bakers are here." Simply turning to her left or right to ask one of the three coworkers surrounding her wouldve answered the question but she didn't even make an attempt to get us an answer. My husband went ahead and bought it anyway fuguring he couldn't go wrong with an ice cream sandwich. Or So he thought...Two bites in, he mentioned to me that it was REALLY overly sweet. He next went up to the counter and mentioned this to a now different girl behind the counter, trying to understand why it was so sweet, she told him feel free to ask for help, so he asked what were the ingredients bcuz he doesn't understand why it would be this sweet. She then asked him, "did you think it was an ice cream sandwich? Bcuz It's not, that's frosting in the middle. If it's too sweet, there's some water in the back. But we can make you an ice cream sandwich if you'd like that." It was a very passive way of avoiding any potential customer confrontation while falling severely short of customer satisfaction. My husband is the sweetest guy so no confrontation would have been had; he was so disappointed he didn't make a fuss but promptly threw out his "cookie" & we left right after. An extremely disappointing experience. The staff was not only unknowledgeable but unwilling to fulfill very basic requests for information and completely side stepped accountability by telling the customer to "go drink water" if they don't like what we sold them after we refused to answer their questions. Very poor service and communication amongst the staff. Management should definitely step up education & hospitality training. These girls were clueless & didn't care. read more

Stopped here on a whim while driving to key largo after a day at the beach. Sweet Savannahs is located right off the highway and super easy to find, lots of parking. Got some very delicious milkshakes that were made pretty quickly. They were a bit pricey ($9 each) but they were super tasty and a great way to beat the heat. read more

True to its name, Sweet Savannah's really serves up some of the best sweets in Marathon and the Keys at large! So many sweets- ice cream, cookies, brownies, cupcakes, various key lime creations, it's a sugary heaven! The Key Lime pie was pretty excellent, it had the super tart kick that a true KLP should always have, and it was definitely one of the top ones we tried in our Keys trip. My only complaint is that the piece was so tiny, I wanted more... But oh well, at least it was scrumptious! My favorite thing I tried there was the peppermint cupcake. It was just perfectly proportioned- the cake was moist and soft, and there was just enough frosting but not too much. The frosting itself was sweet and smooth but not over sweet, I mean I was blown away. One of the best cupcakes I've ever had, no lie. The workers here were not real friendly as they were young kids, but I didn't focus on that. And along with a dreamy variety of sweets, Sweet Savannah's also has a small gift shop-esque area as well, where it seems to mostly be gifts for young kids but it still makes it stand out. What a cute little find! The Cracker Barrel of dessert places in a way. KEY LIME PIE HEAVEN!!!! Found this spot on our latest vacay to Marathon, and we are so glad we did. It is also an ice cream spot with so many incredible flavors to choose from, but honestly, their key lime pie is the real star here. We stopped in closer to 9 pm, and they still had some in their cooler, so we lucked out. When we finally dove in, we realized why they had won so many awards during the years. Headed back to Miami and we only got gluten free key lime once. Called a few places on the way back and they did t have any gluten free for us. This place did! When looking for some 'late night' ice cream in Marathon, FL, apparently Sweet Savannah's is the place to be. It's only open until 9pm and the couple times we visited it was close to closing.... and it was packed! I chose espresso chip and it was good. I like the old fashioned ice cream. Next time I maybe need to try a cupcake. They looked really good too. Parking was ok since the other stores were closed. Expect long lines if you visit for an after dinner dessert. read more
