Sooooo..... my wife and I were at the Beer, Bourbon, Blues and BBQ event this morning in Stuart (don't judge us - first beer wasn't until 11:30!). Sweet Smoke had a tent - where we purchased a couple ribs - (something to wash the beer down) Two ribs - and we were hooked- Fast forward a few hours - and there we were at the Sweet Smoke bar ordering a variety of appetizers and entrees. How did we not eat here before? Good food. Good service, convenient location? I find myself in a horizontal position now- my entire digestive system on "overtime". Appetizers- entrees and... oh yeah the complimentary dessert (chocolate-peanut butter pie). I enjoyed our meal - have leftovers for tomorrow- Good night all!! read more

I have wanted to check out their breakfast since I found out they served breakfast. I stopped in today to try it. I ordered the all in one bowl. It had scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon (an up charge for bacon), breakfast potatoes, and sausage gravy. A side of bread, I picked biscuit. It had a good flavor. The server brought over assorted jellies and a spat of butter. I enjoyed my breakfast. Have to try one of their other breakfasts when I'm in the area. read more

First time, doubt I'll be back. I know my male waiter wasn't very attentive and chose to do the least he had to do and still consider he was working. I received more attention from a female server who cleared my table and tracked down my server to obtain my check. Also interesting with her I could overhear her tell 3 tables about the specials. I was never told of any. I would have chosen one of those. The food was fine. I got the smoked chicken, nothing to write home about, yet it wasn't bad either. It was served in a reasonable time frame. I was very disappointed with the salad bar. Didn't bother with it. Not enough options to make it worth it. Plenty of off-street parking. Ran in here for a fast dinner, got a seat right away because they weren't crowded. Ordered a spare rib dinner, ribs were alright but there were only 3 small ribs, a small size baked potato, lots of broccoli and 1 piece of Texas toast. It was just ok, small portions, disappointing. read more

This was my second time here and I was just as pleased as the first time. Our motorcycle group stopped there today after our ride. I had called ahead to give the number of people and approximate arrival time. Upon arriving our table was ready for us. Our waitress (Kaylean) was excellent, friendly and very efficient. We visited here for the first time around 6:30 pm on a recent Friday night. It was busy, and we sat at the bar for a drink for the 15 minute wait we were told for a table. The drinks were OK, though I did notice the bartender short-poured the alcohol in almost every drink, and we noticed the same in ours. You should at least be able to taste the rum in the drink. About 45 minutes later we finally got a table. 2 other tables were seated right in our vicinity after us, and both tables received service before we did. Unfortunately the prime rib was gone at that time -- the waitress originally said they still had it, but when she went to put the order in she found out it was out. After waiting another half hour or so we decided to take our food to go. It was very disappointing to take out the fried pickles I ordered only to find they forgot to give me any sauce for them. The full rack of baby back ribs were flavorless and did not have very much meat at all. One of the owners came to our table shortly after we decided to take our food to go, and apologized profusely, blaming the problems primarily on the very busy drive through. We were given coupons for free desserts. First, we rarely eat dessert, and second, that hardly makes up for any of the problems we had with our visit. read more

We over anticipated the food at this place. The service was excellent but the ribs and brisket really had no taste. We had to drown it in bar b sauce. The sweet sauce was very good. The collard greens had to much vinegar in it. I did eat half of the half rack of ribs but only because I was hungry. I filled myself up with the baked potato (which was good) and the toasted Texas toast. If they season their meat I may be back but I have a feeling that's just how they cook their food. We were not impressed with the food but was impressed with the great attitude and fantastic customer service by our server. She was really good. We had a great time! We packed half the restaurant with a softball team of 10 year old girls and our families. It was Family Game Night and we got to play bingo with the girls throughout our dinner (they even did a special round with our team name!) The pork belly was great (it sold out that night too) and everyone enjoyed the brussel sprouts, corn nuggets, mac and cheese egg rolls and onion rings as appetizers. I wish I could give this place a negative one star. I've been here a couple times and it's usually hit or miss, sometimes it's OK, other the times is terrible. Sometimes it's like eating beef jerky. Well, this is one of those times. It's sad how you spend your hard earned money on crap that you would give to a bum. It's also unbelievable that an employee there with service to a customer and thought it was OK for them to eat this. Even though the place has been rebranded, like every bbq restaurant I have tried, they can't cook brisket properly and should never say it is Texas style. Hubby had the brisket sandwich, the meat had no smoke ring and was sliced very thin and wasn't happy with it at all. I had the baby back ribs, they were meh at best, however my side of brussel sprouts was the best part of the meal. The search continues for decent bbq brisket. read more

We just moved to Stuart, FL and our sweet friends introduced us to Sweet Smoke Southern Kitchen and it was the best BBQ in town!! We've already tried others but this was by far our favorite!! The service was top notch and our waitress, Olivia, was so upbeat and cheerful and took really good care of us all!! Five of us went here for dinner tonight around 6pm and it was one the worst dining experiences ever! the brisket was dirt dry and had NO flavor at all. The mashed potatoes tasted weird and were super sticky. the Gator was thin strips of dark meat(NOT GATOR TAIL) and way over cooked. The kids chicken strips were way over cooked and dry. The fries tasted freezer burnt. Three of us refused our meals. They were removed from the total which came to$99.99!!!! ONLY TWO OF FIVE ATE!!! So for 2 brisket meals, 4 Iced teas, 1 water, a 1 trip salad bar? ,gator meat and fried mushrooms.... THIS ADDS UP TO $99.99???!!!! Will never return and would encourage everyone that reads this totally avoid this place. We saw our waiter twice in total and of course a manager twice as well. Since we were in the south, we had to get our BBQ fix in. We got here and there were a few other tables. I got the rib combo platter which came with babybacks and st louis style. The St. Louis style I thought was pretty dry and lacked a smoke ring which gave me concerns even before biting into it. The babyback had some smoke ring but not much. BREAKFAST REVIEW... Yesterday a co-worker and myself had a long 12 hour workday coming up, and we decided to have a big country breakfast. We decided that BONO's had a breakfast, and their lunches were good, the breakfast has got to be good...Wrong! First, we both ordered the Meat Lovers Omelette, they weren't even prepared the same way and had no real sausage flavor even. I had grits that I can only say must have been instant grits, they were bright whiten and with butter & black pepper in them had zero taste. My friend had the hash browns with not a lot in the flavor department either. We both had toast that was two seconds away from being burnt. The coffee, and iced tea were good, and the servers were very good as well, they got our beverages and orders quickly. The kitchen on the other hand, did all the damage and did so with less than 10 customers in the restaurant... It even took an easy 15-20 minutes to get our breakfast out! I will go back for lunch, but they will never see me ordering breakfast again! read more

Poor excuse for BBQ ribs. No taste, no smoke ring, no reason for us to go back. Ordered the combo rib special, St. Louis style spare ribs and baby back ribs with a side of greens and crispy fries. The spareribs were laden with fat and the skin on the underside of the ribs had not been removed. There were other disappointing aspects to this dining experience but there's no reason to pick on this sorrowful purveyor of pork. I won't be back. That says it all. read more

This is one of those places that you need to visit for yourself because it's got an old soul feel to it with great service and gooooood food! The decor and seating arrangement reminded me of something out of a restaurant bar out in the middle of mid-country. I'm currently on a VERY strict diet and was still able to enjoy a serving of smoked brisket with the salad bar plate loaded with lettuce, onions, peppers, turkey, tomatoes, and other good stuff. My boyfriend (the one not on the diet) had the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich with french fries and needless to say, he barely said a word to me during dinner because he was busy enjoying the juicy meat. I like coming here. Bono's is a very friendly restaurant. They do check your temperature before they seat you. They do wear masks as well. They do not have great bread though. I don't like the bread they have for toast or their biscuits. I hope they can find new bread options. Also the sliced pork is very thin. I thought it would be thicker then what I received.
