Not the first time I've eaten here and definitely not the last. (10/20/2008). We met the Roedl's up here for a family night out. Most people ordered the Baby Backs (either 1/2 slab or full) which come with 2 sides and garlic toast. One of the party actually ordered the burger (she had had dental work earlier in the day) and it looked fantastic! Monday night was all-you-can eat Baby Back Ribs for $18.95 and to be fair, unless you come ready to strap on the feedbag, it's probably a waste. A full rack with the sides is filling enough for anyone. Waitress was very attentive and kept up on refills for us. I have to say that if you order a soft drink or a water, they come in 32 oz. glasses, so it's not like you need a lot of refills. Unfortunately I've never had anything else here other than the baby backs, but for the first time we did order some desserts. One apple cobbler, one peach cobbler and one peanut butter pie. The cobblers came with an option of a la mode but we passed on that. They arrived warm out of the oven and were just heavenly. The peanut butter pie was good, but honestly was something that was bought (from a food service company) and not home made but it was still good. The only thing I'd say to watch out for is that their "original" bbq sauce is a mustard based sauce. I know most of my bbq has been limited to Florida, Georgia and a little bit of North Carolina but this was the first time the main sauce was mustard-based. That created a small surprise for MK unfortunately, but she was able to recover nicely. This place is solid and has been here for years (rebuilt about 5 years ago) and is a huge favorite with both the Sheriff's Deputies as well as the Stuart Police Dept, so if anything you're pretty safe eating here as well! read more

Okay, let me just get this out of the way...I hate going to Florida. However, when I have to be here Bono's is the one thing I look forward to. There just isn't anything close to the BBQ goodness of Bono's in California or anywhere else for that matter (Memphis, excluded). I am addicted to the sweet corn nuggets and the BBQ pork sandwich. They have 4 different BBQ sauces to choose from and while I prefer the original flavor hands down, I think they all have their merits. I've probably dined here around 10 times in the past 4 years & every time I have had exceptional service and food quality. The randomness of it all says it's not a fluke. They even have a drive-thru window for when you need to take the yummy happiness away. read more

Not Bono's anymore. Now Sweet Smoke Southern Kitchen. Horrible! After calling my order in and told to come to the drive to the pickup window ,I waited for over 15 min. I was behind 1 person who didn't call in and I waited for them to make their dinner, instead of telling the person to pull around and we'll bring the order out. Thank goodness there wasn't any one behind me(no surprise) I backed up and parked and went in. I got home and the food was pretty bad, after all that. Will never go there again. read more

The food is alright and the drinks are great. However, when u run into one of the bartenders while out and she proceeds to tell u that "come on, look at u! Are u really surprised that 'everyone' sees u like that?".....supposedly fit women aren't attractive and apparently I get talked about negatively amongst people there, and she said I should not be surprised if people wonder about what sex I really am. It's more than clear by the man by my side, my 34Gs, and my feminine face I'm straight and a woman, I believe. Not to mention the fact I get hit on constantly by MEN of all ages. Ineedible. This was the worst meal of my life. I was excited, thinking we had a new restaurant in town. It smelled very good when I walked in. The waitress was excellent but that is the end of the positives. I ordered a combo of baby back ribs and brisket. The brisket was not much more than a pool of fat. It sounds odd but the fat cap had been left on and the meat sliced very thin so the fat overpowered the meat. I could not eat it. The ribs were extremely over-cooked and dry. I ate half of the half rack that I ordered. The onion rings had a strong onion taste rather than the sweet mellow taste that onion rings should have. Cole slaw was ok. Judging from a Cosmopolitan that I had, cocktails are mediocre. When I declined the offer of a box for the food, the waitress encouraged me to give feedback. She brought the manager and I nicely told her about my experience. She argued that the food was good and kept mentioning a "chef." I cannot imagine that this place has a "cfef." No offer to make anything right. $55 including the tip for an inedible meal. Next time, I will go to Pig and Cattle which is very good. read more

I've grown up on Bono's and they've grown up too. I was recently in town visiting some family and had to stop in for a few of my favorite things. I quickly realized that they had some new additions to the menu. Naturally, I HAD to try them! First off, let's talk about the fried green beans. They had the perfect amount of crisp and weren't greasy at all. They are usually accompanied with a creamy chipotle sauce, but our waitress Alicia recommended the blue cheese dressing, which was amazing! I had to save some room for my fellow favorite appetizer, the corn nuggets. I can never leave Bono's without having an order of those little golden treasures of deliciousness. Creamed corn fried to perfection, this description doesn't do them any justice, but please get them. Just do it. I dip them in the honey mustard (it will catch on that I have a thing for condiments, if it hasn't already). Naturally, I had a sweet tea. It's never too sweet or too un. But, then...I saw the drink menu. I am very particular when it comes to adult beverages. I like em sweet. I mentioned this to Alicia and she knew exactly what to bring me and she was soooo right. I can't remember the name of it, but it was SO good. It was a daiquiri of some sort. All I know is that it made me happy and made me want to be on a boat! As for my main course, I had the salad bar, which had some new items on it. Fresh cut bacon bits, sunflower seeds, and craisins, just to name a few. FYI if you end up getting the salad bar there is a tuna macaroni salad. Please follow these steps: scoop the salad on your plate. Do a light drizzle of honey mustard on the salad. Grab the rectangular crackers (these are on top of the salad bar) and crunch them up. Sprinkle the crushed crackers on top of the salad. Drizzle Sweet and Tangy sauce (this sauce, by the way is good on EVERYTHING) on the salad. Eat the salad and tell me about it. Best bite of your life. I also ordered the shrimp combo. I did 6 grilled and 6 fried. I'm not sure what batter they use or if it's something in the water, but the shrimp was perfectly fried! The grilled shrimp was tasty too. Of course I dipped them in the pink sauce (this creamy condiment goodness) and the cocktail (had just enough kick to it). I had a side of broccoli and a sweet potato. Broccoli is broccoli, the more important thing is holy cinnamon butter. Mmmmm makes eating my vegetables easy! Surprisingly, I had very little room for dessert. I got the coconut cream pie, took one bite, and had to box it up. The pie was a fantastic way to end the meal. Light and airy. As you can tell, I highly recommend Bono's. I'll be back for more and to try their breakfast. Which, they have breakfast now...this might lead me into a food coma. I'll have another story for you soon, I'm sure!! read more

Our first visit for breakfast was fine. So we went for the Early Bird Special dinner that's advertised in the newspaper. We weren't given an Early Bird Menu until we asked for one. The food was not good at all. My husband had fish that had bones in it. For a 76 year old man, it was kind of dangerous. He didn't finish it. Neither of us liked the chicken tortilla soup and my 1/2 turkey sandwich had nothing on it except warm turkey that looked like sliced sandwich meat on soggy toast and was not very appetizing. My first time here (with my husband and son) food was ok. Within an hour after we ate all 3 of us had gotten horribly sick (we had only eaten here) called to complain to see if someone was going to rectify the problem. Person I spoke with said this never happens he would research it and get back to me. Well I never gotten a phone call back. This place needs a new owner, management and employees!! It was so dirty and when we were seated the table smelled like sour dirty water and the floor was sticky. Our waitress was rude and treated us like we were bothering her being there. It took 45 minutes to get the food and it was frozen cold on the inside, we complained to the management and they said what do you want me to do about it? Right before leaving we saw a huge RAT run across the wall towards the kitchen, I wanted to be sick! Never again will I step a foot in that place!! I've been here few times and it's always very good. The price of food is average for a BBQ place. The salad bar is pretty standard. I wish they had french dressing because it's kinda my favorite. I have eaten in restaurants on a regular basis for decades.I've been to New York , Florida and Kansas. I love NY pizza. KC pizza was kinda yucky.Florida pizza is o.k. I never ate in a BBQ restaurant in NY I was a city boy from da bronx There were none. I moved to the midwest and discovered bbq food. After i gained a few pounds in the years i was there. I moved to Florida I hung out in the Jupiter area . I been to Sonny's a couple a times. I ordered the turkey platter. It was deli turkey.They heated it in the microwave. I thought it was smoked. Who want deli turkey. I can go to the deli and get it myself. I was hoping for real turkey like at thanksgiving. Real turkey breast. They do have good prices in drinks and beer. Soda cost more than beer. Beer is 241. Soda all u can gulp. Now 4 the ribs. Precooked in IMO. Reheated in oven or nuked.One rib was kinda cool to the touch. Uneven heat distribution.I wanna say ow when i touch food. Means it hot Good flavor but i like em meaty. i ordered the baby rack ribs. they gave me this slab of something,It smelt good but i saw no meat . I felt like a dog as i grind my teeth on the bone searching for meat. The chicken. was good. So i go back a few days later. Ordered the chicken meal again . OMG what the heck hard and dry. read more

Now I know what disappointment tastes like. Bono's. Went to Bono's for dinner with the family. First off, I must admit we are (were) loyal Sonny's BBQ lovers (until their quality if some items has REALLY slipped lately). We were greeted by a hostess and we told her we'd like 2 high chairs (3 year old twins). She brought us to a booth, which wouldn't work at all for two high chairs. We pointed that out and told her we'd like a table instead. She brought us to a table and went and got a high chair. She brought it, put it down and asked if we needed another one. We're standing there with toddlers in our arms and had already asked for two high chairs AND pointed out that the booth wasn't going to work for two high chairs. Anyway, we said yes and she got us another one. It doesn't get better. We were then greeted by a waitress who was friendly enough, but was really trying to SELL to us. We saw a note on a specials menu that said something like "kids eat free, ask your waitress how". We asked. She seemed a little unsure, but then said that kids meals are in fact free with a paid adult meal $8.99 and up. Seemed like a deal, so we liked that. We were seated for maybe 2 minutes and my wife took my daughter to the bathroom. The waitress came back while they were gone and asked if I was ready to order. I told her no, and also that half of our party was not even at the table. We ended up ordering some BBQ. I got the beef an pork and my wife got brisket. The meat I received was HORRIBLE. Dry, no flavor at all and became chewy. I realize "pulled" type BBQ is meant to have BBQ sauce on it, but I wanted to try it before it applied the sauce. Mistake. The pork was sliced and piled into a rectangular brick on my plate. Although slightly better than the beef, it was still very bad. Tough, chewy and no flavor. Anyway, that's about the time I tried the sauces. DISGUSTING. The "spicy" one tasted like burnt Sweet Baby Rays. The "famous" sweet BBQ sauce was horrible too. Tasted like molasses and corn syrup. My other two choices for sauce were both mustards, which I can't stand, so I used the spicy (Sweer Baby Rays) and suffered through my meal. Sweet tea was weak and not very sweet, kids meals were flavorless and generic. The fried green beans we had as an appetizer were the best part of the meal, and if give them 3/5 stars. Save yourself the agony of going to Bono's and try somewhere else. That's what we'll be dong next time. read more

Thought we'd give Bonos a try again after not having been there in a while and it's safe to say that was not a good decision. I order a plain grilled chicken sandwich with cheese... what could possibly be bad about that? Well if you like stringy, rubbery chicken, nothing, but if you aren't a fan of that, then it's quite disgusting. My husband had a buffalo chicken sandwich that was quite a bit below desirable as well. Then the bill came and it's hard to justify paying what we did for something so inedible. Then, after I piled my garbage on top of my half eaten sandwich, the waitress told me I didn't finish my food (like I didn't know) and asked me if I wanted to finish it. I've been going to Bonos for years and the quality and service are declining steadily. The food is at about a 50/50 ratio from very good on some visits to not do good on others. The only constant lately is the extensive wait for the food to come out. The past three times I went towards closing the service was horrible. The reason is what's most offensive the servers are all cleaning the entire restaurant sweeping, wiping and mopping. Then when they eventually get your food you can't find them again for a refill ever. This is disgusting the sam person handing my food that was just under the table cleaning garbage from the floor. They need to hire someone to clean the servers need to be attentive and handle my food with clean hands read more
