Came back to Sweet Sushi for dinner the other night and after this experience I had to update my review to 5 stars! We arrived are 7:40pm and got a spot at the bar planning on getting some Sake. Once seated we were given soup and not just one but 2 free appetizers. One was a Holiday Roll and the other was mean, avocado with a Pringle supposing it and they were all great. The staff is just always so friendly her and just happy to see people. You really can't beat that. Since it was late I knew I probably should get some more food and not just the free appetizers. I went with the Moon Roll and I'm so glad I did because it was great. I'm always a little nervous when I only get 1 sushi roll but this one was huge and with salmon, tuna, and snow crab it was right up my alley. So good and so filling this is a must to try if you like all 3 I listed above. I know we will be back for the amazing service but also because now the OMG Roll is calling my name. read more

Stopped in for the first time and Sweet Sushi and Grill became our favorite sushi and hibachi go to. There is inside and outside seating and we sat on the patio since it was a nice afternoon. The service was great and very prompt. They gave us a complimentary holiday roll to taste and it was so good that we ordered one for the appetizer. It was so light and delicious. The soup and salad were on point. We ordered the steak and chicken hibachi and everything on the plate, which was more than enough, was delicious! We especially loved that they also give you noodles. Good service, great fresh sashimi. They did not have uni, which is always my first test (uni with a raw quail egg on top). Second test is the mysterious "white tuna" which if truly white tuna would actually be albacore. Asked the sushi chef what the escolar was and he quickly replied "white tuna". Strike two. We had a great dining experience at Sweet Sushi & Grill! We just recently ventured into this plaza because my niece goes to the dance studio here. Pleasantly surprised at the array of options this plaza has to offer. At first glance: Typical looking sushi spot, not that big, every table was taken. (I've heard it was a local favorite.) There is also outdoor seating. Luckily, there was only two of us so we were able to sit at the sushi bar. Fine by me! I like watching them make their masterpieces. They were skillfully and efficiently plating nonstop. On the table: Asahi, Plum wine, complimentary rolls!! Yesss! We ordered the Love boat, where you get to pick a specialty roll. Someone recommended the Lobster General Roll: Lobster tempura, avocado, and spicy tuna inside. Crawfish salad on top. Drizzled with eel & spicy mayo. Yum! Hope you like salmon, because there was a lot of salmon on the boat. Sushi was fresh and delectable. Complimentary dessert too! They make sure you are full and happy! Room to improve: My only tidbit is that the corner of the sushi bar that we were sitting on was being used as a cleaning station. A friend recommended this sushi restaurant and we decided to come here for a date night. The interior is a little on the smaller side but it felt cozy and warm. We were immediately greeted and seated when we walked in. The restaurant was bright and clean! They put specials on the board so make sure to check it out! The service was immaculate! Oh my goodness! Our drinks were refilled when it was empty, dirty plates taken away after we've eaten, and our dirty napkins and straw wrappers were picked up! There were more than one waitress waiting on us as the others brought out our drinks, food, etc. They gave us a free miso soup, small appetizer and dessert! For the appetizer, it was 6 fried sushi pieces! It had crab and cream cheese with spicy mayo and eel sauce on top! We enjoyed this very much. For dessert, they gave us two fried Oreos with strawberry syrup and whipped cream on the side! This was sooooooo good! I literally inhaled it one bite! Here's what we had: Yellowtail and avocado roll: 7/10 - I love yellowtail but it has be fresh. This was fresh for the most part but on one piece, I could taste a slight fishy aftertaste. But the fish did melt in my mouth! It was a smaller roll but the rice to filling ratio was just perfect! Salmon and avocado roll: unrated - I don't like salmon but my husband does. He seemed to love it, so I'm assuming it's fresh and good. Rock and roll: 8.5/10 - It's a sushi roll filled with shrimp tempura, crabstick, avocado, and cream cheese? It came with 6 big rolls. It was so delicious and I could taste all the ingredients! The tempura shrimp was fried perfectly as well! This is one of my favorite rolls! Lobster general roll: 9/10 - This was my favorite roll! It had lobster tempura, avocado, spicy tuna inside, crawfish salad on top and eel & spicy mayo sauce. It was probably one of the best sushi rolls that I've ever had! All the flavors blended together so effortlessly! Definitely try this roll! Fancy eel roll: unrated - I don't like eel so I didn't try it but it had shrimp tempura, smoked salmon, eel, cucumber, fish egg on top. My husband loved this one a lot! He said everything was really fresh as well. I was sad they didn't have my favorite, Tamago (sweet egg) but it's okay! All the sushi rolls had an excellent rice to filling ratio! They don't skimp on the toppings or the fillings at all! We're sure to come back and try other things on their menu. I ordered food for pickup. Lady was rude when I asked for extra shrimp sauce even though it wasn't really extra. We ordered 4 rolls and they only put 2 in bag so I asked for 2 more and she was rude about it. Got home and order was missing items/wrong so had to drive back up there and sit and wait while they remade it. Did not offer to comp anything or even offer an apology for getting my order wrong and having to drive back up there. My guess is they purposely screwed my order because I didn't tip in the website however I usually tip when I pay but the lady was initially rude to me even before I noticed the order was wrong. All of them were really delicious with high quality ingredients and full of flavor!! The "LOVE roll" had Mango, Raw Salmon, and Spicy Crab Inside. Topped with Raw Tuna, Eel Sauce, Mango Sauce and Red Fish Eggs. Gorgeous presentation in the shape of a heart and utterly delicious and fresh. Loved the decadent sauces! The "OMG roll" had Shrimp Tempura, Snow Crab, Avocado, and Soy Paper Wrapped. Sliced Avocado, Escolar, Seared Tuna, eel Sauce, Spicy Mayo, Fish Eggs, Crunchy, and Sesame Seeds on Top. This was phenomenal and had so much depth. Great melding of flavors and textures!! The "GINZA roll" had Spicy tuna deep fried with house special sauce, topped with spicy krab, fish egg, crunchy, and scallion. Such a crunchy delight and perfect spice! We enjoyed all of our rolls! We thought that Sweet Sushi was okay. Located in a strip mall, Sweet Sushi initially appeared to have a very inviting dining space and we were promptly greeted upon arrival during lunch time. One other party was dining in when we arrived. We both decided to order the lunch specials with two and three rolls. They came with soup and salad. A complimentary "holiday roll" was brought to the table along with clear soup. The holiday roll was pretty thin and the sauces on top were a little too liberally poured for my liking but I did appreciate the thought of a free dish. Our rolls came rather quickly. As we started eating them, we realized that the order was incorrect. Also, we noticed that we hadn't gotten our salads. It was challenging to get the attention of the single waitress who was now waiting on four tables and prepping place settings for the dinner service at a table in the corner. When she finally came back to our table, we let her know that one of the rolls was incorrect and that we didn't have our salads. After a short while, the salads arrived along with the correct roll. The dressing on the salads was bland and unlike other ginger dressings I've had before and the rolls weren't the best. I had to ask for eel sauce as my salmon skin roll, while unique, was very dry. The shrimp tempura roll had nothing in it except for shrimp and a few cucumbers. The salmon katsu with cheese and avocado, dynamite, and spicy krab rolls were just ok as well. The good thing about this place is that they offer a great lunch special but unfortunately the quality of the food, the service, and the cleanliness of the space left something to be desired. read more
