My wife and I took her sister here for lunch. She is from Washington state, so she has had seafood that is about as fresh as you can get. We started with drinks. The dirty birdy and whiskey buck were such a hit we had a few. The appetizers we tried were delicious. The seared ahi tasted yummy and the pork belly with its crunchy exterior was gobbled up quick. We then tried the cauliflower and steamed clams. The broth for the clams was so good, we asked for more bread to sop it up. The cauliflower was yummy and everything on the plate was eaten up. The girls were full after that, but I wanted to try the beet salad. Have to say, one of the best I've ever had. Beets, arugula, goat cheese, walnuts (I think) and Orange slices with a tasty vinaigrette. Although the girls were 'full', they saw that and had to try it. Nothing left in that bowl as well. Came on Good Friday. Very nice menu selection and really good waiter. We had the taco special and the pork belly appetizers. They were so good! The special fish of the day was grouper with coconut rice, bok choy and ginger sauce. So light and delicate! My brother had the steak frites. Cooked perfectly with a garlicky chimichurri sauce. Dessert to go!!! Carrot cake with a super sweet sauce. Skip the sauce and it's perfect. Generous portion. The inside is light and airy. Outside seating available. The only disappointment is that they don't allow dogs outside on the patio. Otherwise we would come for lunches, as we live here year round. All in all, a nice night. read more

Not sure why I haven't reviewed Kiki Rae's before. We've visited a couple times and will be back many times more. This is just a great place. There is something on the menu for everyone, and it's all delish! Whether you're looking for some small plates to share or a full on meal, they have it all. The vibe is fresh and welcoming. Not pretentious. One of the owners has stopped by our table every visit, just to say hi and thank us for coming. It felt genuine and unforced. If we lived closer, this would be our #1 go-to joint. My wife and I went with another couple and we had been here before. The food was quite good as was the service and ambience. I liked that it wasn't too loud because that always deter us from the enjoyment Or appetizers we had the fried cauliflower and seared Ahi. My wife and I split a bowl of New England clam chowder, which was also very good! For an appetizer, I had the 16 ounce prime rib with loaded, baked potato and carrots, and it was great and frankly, I made three meals out of it so it was a good portion. My wife had a vegetable entrée and had had that before, and really enjoyed it. My buddy had the same prime rib and his wife had shrimp Louie salad, which was looking quite good. I know she enjoyed it. I had an old-fashioned, which was quite good because it was made with the next-door carefree distillery bourbon, which I also like. My wife had a glass of Cabernet and my buddy had a margarita while his wife had a lemon drop. Everyone enjoyed the food in our server was great. He was from Boston and had great suggestions and was very attentive. All in the experience was enjoyable and I know we will be back. read more

Second time here and will keep coming back! Ellie the bartender is wonderful. Attentive, engaging and makes an amazing drink every time! We've tried a few things and, while they're all delish, the pork belly, hot crab dip and poke nachos are incredible. I'm not a pork belly fan but hubby got it and I've now been converted. The restaurant itself has a relaxed beach vibe with plenty of seating outside and a couple spots in the front of you have a pet with you. Great music and overall relaxed feel. I love the coastal vibe at Kiki Rays. It feels very welcoming and laid back. Very fresh and relaxed. Everyone seems friendly. I've been there two times now, once for dinner with a larger group and once for happy hour. Both times were great! Both times we sat on the patio and enjoyed live music and had a view of Black Mountain. Both times the service was great! Kiki's is a little gem, a tropical oasis in the middle of the desert in Cave Creek. They have a grass area where kids can wiggle, or it's also a nice place to sit and have a cocktail after dinner. The shareables - coconut shrimp, ahi tacos, fried cauliflower, and hot crab dip were all a hit and are also all on happy hour! Yum! The Big Kahuna Spicy Shrimp Tempura Roll is delicious. You can also get a house bottle of wine and the roll for $25, great deal! I enjoyed the scallops. The carrot puree and the brown butter glaze were a good combo. The beet salad was also really good. Well I guess they moved the Live Music to Fridays & Saturdays, so we missed out on that part, fortunately all other parts of the recipe were very impressive. Nicely priced and fresh. We were in town for the Cave Creek Car Show coming in to Kiki Rae's for a late breakfast / early lunch. We'd been by before other times for dinner, but it was always too busy for us to wait, so this was our first time to get right in and dine. On this visit it was surprisingly uncrowded given the Car Show being in town, but it worked out great. I had the Hangover Burger with fries. Serving size was more than fair for the price and the meal was delicious. I always sit at the bar when a bar is available in a restaurant. This particular bar sits on a corner that overlooks the outside thru large openings giving an open view of the area around the building. It is a very nice setting. The restaurant, common areas and restrooms are well maintained, clean and comfortable. Will try to make it back again during none primetime to try other menu items. read more

It's a mixed review - it wasn't amazing, but also not disastrous. Here's the rundown... Vibe: The vibe is fun - think coastal beach vibes, but in the desert. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Plus, there's an indoor and outdoor bar. I saw a couple of pups on leashes at the bar, so pet-friendly. Food: The menu is heavy on seafood (salmon, seafood linguine, clam chowder, etc.), but there are sandwiches and burgers, too. My husband tried the Turkey salad sandwich and hated it. I had the seafood linguine - it was supposed to come in a white wine sauce, but the consistency was more like Alfredo :/ If we come back, we'll have to try something else off the menu. Service: Hostess stand is rude. The service is fair. We waited too long for original drink order. Out waitress was very reactive. We had to ask for every beverage refill we needed. Outdoor note: The outdoor area has a misting system to keep you cool, but it only operates on one speed: BLASTING. It's a nice idea, but it ends up being more of a nuisance/distraction because it BLASTS you throughout your entire meal. If we come back, it'll have to be sweltering outside or we'll ask for indoors. read more

I came here with a group of friends and our kids for the first time during dinner hour. The aloha atmosphere is very special to me, you feel like you're in Hawaii somewhere. I got married in Maui so this restaurant makes me happy. Their food was so delicious and the drinks are beautifully delicious too. I loved the taste of their purple empress drink, I love coconut!! We started with coconut shrimp and ahi tuna tacos. Both starters were so great and fresh! For my entree I ordered the spicy shrimp tempura with ahi tuna, very filling and tasty. My friend ordered their scallops, she loved them as well. Our waiter was so kind and informative, I don't know if his name was Ron or Rod? He was great! First of all this restaurant has great food! They serve the best ahi/poke and I mean THE VERY BEST. BUT... Last night I ordered mussels. They were not good at all. Tiny chewy over cooked creatures in a disastrous sauce that bore NO RESEMBLANCE to the description in the menu. There was no tiny fork to drag these miserable things out of the shell and no bowl in which to place the shells. I asked for a small fork and was given a desert fork!! A normal sized mussel would have been wrangled successfully but these were MINUTE. THIS GREAT PLACE DOES NOT DESERVE THIS HARSH CRITICISM. They usually do an outstanding job. We were up at lake pleasant and drove over to cave creek when we were done. My sister had been to Kiki's before and oh goodness was this a good choice. I had the veggie burger and fries with a few extra things on it (pickles, Dijon,cheese). It was delicious. The fries are seasoned and are divine. A little spicy a little salty. Yummy. The veggie burger was so well cooked. I have found over the years the quality of a restaurant can be traced to how they treat all the food including the veggie burger. Dried out over cooked plant based proteins are sadly a frequent occurrence. This was perfect. Thank you!!! My sister had the bistro burger on sourdough Also excellent! Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. She helped my sister navigate a nondairy situation. Sammie was an excellent server and was so fun and pleasant. Love everything about this place, has a beachy vibe that's relaxed, chill, but sophisticated. We decided to come here for brunch and it was just perfect. If you love a great brunch spot but not so crowded and busy, this is the place for you. The server was great, she was quick and was very personable. Wish I remembered her name but she was fantastic! They have lots of fun brunch cocktails, bubblies and more. I got the mango mimosa and it was really good. Next I got the 3 shot flights: pineapple upside down cake, fruity pebbles, and the banana foster. All were so good and fun! My BF got the espresso martini and the I lava you Mary. I don't really like Bloody Mary so that wasn't my favorite but the espresso martini was delicious! Food was excellent! We stopped in at Kiki Rae's on a Tuesday night and had such a great experience. Our server, Kennedy, was so sweet, friendly, and attentive, and really made us feel welcome. I tried the Dirty Birdy (tequila, pamplemousse, lime juice, simple syrup, and soda water) and it was refreshing and perfectly balanced. We split the Big Kahuna Spicy Shrimp Tempura roll, and wow--it was incredible. The place has a cute atmosphere and good vibes, and the staff genuinely enjoy their work. Luckily we couldn't find parking at the very crowded Mexican cantina across the street and instead we pulled into the parking lot where we found Kiki's. What a great find! It was a perfect Sunday in Carefree in the Cave Creek area. We chose a table in the patio to sip on our cocktails while enjoying a nice cool breeze. The decor and vibe is intentionally coastal. The menu has lots of Asian fusion flavors. We chose a glass of Chardonnay for me and a margarita for hubby, and the ahi tacos appetizer because we had just had breakfast not too long before. It was all good! The stretch along this Cave Creek area is easy to find BBQ, Mexican and biker vibes places to eat. Kiki's is not anything like that at all. We just happened in the center here and spotted Kiki Rae's. It's funny we made a turnaround in the parking lot to go to a restaurant across the street. That place had a full parking lot. So we swung back across the street and said, "Let's try them out." They are kind of hidden in the back of the businesses. Which is good for the patio vibe to look out into the horizon. The ambiance is coastal with an Asian/coastal flare menu. Very laid back on the patio for this Sunday afternoon visit. We ordered drinks of double shot margaritas for me and Chardonnay for my wife. We were in a snacky mood, so we ordered the ahi tacos. Drinks and tacos were awesome. I think I could have sat on the patio for hours. It was so laid back and relaxing. I also thought the s'mores brûlée was more of just a chocolate creme brûlée? No graham cracker and even the little meringues weren't very marshmallowy. Holy air ball. Went here bc how can you mess up a menu full of classics?! Took 20+ minutes to get service on a Thursday evening, extremely inattentive staff. My mom needed Tabasco for her chowder but the waitress never checked on us after getting our meals. Her soup went completely to waste. This is unacceptable. Caesar salad had 0 flavor, like how? My husband got a chicken sandwich & gave it 1/10 stars. Fries were no better than homemade frozen fries with sprinkled paprika on top. My seafood linguine was enjoyable, I wouldn't pay $40 again for it.
