We came here once before years ago and I remember it being packed then too even though I'm sure it was later in the day. The line moved quickly and they gave you a number after so that you don't have to stand waiting by the counter. They bring your drinks and items out to you while you find a place to sit and wait. I had never seen that before and I really appreciated it. Their menu has upgraded since the last time I came, it's now on two large TV screens that help you read before it's your turn at the counter. They also have a sandwich board with seasonal drinks for those that are looking for something sweeter or with different flavors. I had the Banana Cabana which was my first banana coffee drink ever during this time where they seem to be popping up everywhere. My immediate reaction was that the banana flavoring is not for me. It was still drinkable though, with the perfect amount of sweetness. I don't fault them at all, it was an experimental choice on my part. Next time I will just stick with adding my own flavors to an iced latte. Plenty of seating and despite being crowded, there was a relatively low noise level. They also have plenty of pastry and food options. By the time I left I realized I forgot to order a chorizo breakfast burrito, so I will have to try that next time.

I stopped by on a Friday and it was crowded but not so much that I couldn't find a seat. There was actually some seating available both inside and out. I chose inside and enjoyed my cold brew with oat milk and got some work done. A couple of friends met up and they noted we were in "productive mode," so we limited the chat until our lunch break when we headed out. One thing I really appreciated is that both their 12 oz and 16 oz drinks come with two shots of espresso, which is a nice bonus. They also have some really unique flavor combinations. I ordered the hot Blackberry Buckle Latte and added white chocolate mocha. I'd never had a blackberry coffee before, and it was surprisingly delicious. It wasn't overly sweet or syrupy. Instead, it had a more balanced, almost savory flavor. You could actually taste the blackberry without it overpowering the coffee, making for a really unique and enjoyable drink. The only downside is that the inside is pretty small. If they're busy, it can feel crowded with customers waiting and ordering since there's not much room to move around. However, they do have outdoor seating with four tables (three shaded by umbrellas) and about six additional individual chairs, making it a nice option to enjoy your coffee outside. I remember back in 2011 when I worked at the Nelson we were absolutely starved for a great local coffee house to open up nearby. We had Latte Land on the plaza but parking over there was always nuts and to just pop in and grab a coffee we'd often end up over at KCAI. When Crow's opened while I was away in graduate school I remember my former colleagues gushing about it - saying it had finally happened and a good shop had opened. They weren't wrong. Here we are, probably 10 years (ish) since they first opened their doors and they are still serving the need for fantastic local coffee in this part of KC. On my most recent visit I popped in for a coffee to take with me to a meet at UMKC and I was reminded at how great this spot is. While there are many more great coffee options nearby these days you can't fail to remember Crows and I look forward to my next visit!

Pour is way out in the southwest stretches of the metro but anchors a fairly busy strip center. The space inside is homey and not enormous, but there are plenty of spots to enjoy. The house brew is strong and always fresh and their breakfast burrito game is seriously on point. The beverage menu is fairly standard, from latte through seasonal offerings, and each drink is handcrafted to your wishes. The food menu is not extensive, but what they do, they do really well. There are a couple of sandwiches on the menu and their aforementioned breakfast burritos are outstanding. Pour offers several varieties and packs alllll the freshness and flavor inside those tortillas. You could even pair one up with one of their baked goodies and you're in for a treat. Hint: try a handmade Pop-tart. Parking is super easy, pricing is pretty fair, and the service is local & friendly. Their outside seating is unexpectedly cool as the strip center isn't exactly made for a patio, but Pour placed several tables on the front sidewalk and around the side in the shade for a nice touch. It can get busy, because there's not a lot of competition and demand is high, so be sure to be cognizant of when the high school gets out. Sample & enjoy!
