I really wanted to find a good bakery near my work so I turned to Yelp. This one is only a few miles away so I thought I would give it a try. It is located right by/in Kent station and there was plenty of parking. The store was cute, clean and easy to find. I walked in and saw one huge case of baked goods only to find there was another additional case as well. They have everything; cupcakes, macaroons, cookies, individual cheesecakes, cake pops, rice krispies and much more! I was impressed by the range of options as well. I ended up getting the éclair (which was about the size of my face), a red velvet cupcake and a couple of the almond macaroons. My favorite was the macaroons for sure. They were perfect! I am truly thankful for this bakery. My parents booked a trip for 10 of us to Mexico to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, my mother fell, hurt herself and so we had to cancel. My sis and I decided throw them a party to make up for it. We only had a week to plan and get a cake. The lady (I feel horrible I can't remember/find her name) she listened to what I was looking for and was able to help me. I was expecting a very plain frosted cake so that I could doctor it up and decorate myself since this was very short notice. She asked me to return about 4 hours later and she would have a cake ready. What she presented me with was beyond my expectations. I didn't have to add anything except for the topper. This cake was absolutely beautiful! And the taste was amazing. For being all vanilla, it was full of flavor and so moist. Everyone loved it, especially my parents. French Macarons were a no go for me. I tried the Chocolate, Strawberry, and Pistachio ones. The Strawberry had the best flavor out of the three, hoooowevvver the cookie was very crunchy and hard. The pistachio was awful!! I couldn't finish it. And everyone who knows me know that I will NOT waste a macaron. It has a very strange minty taste to it. No pistachio flavor at all. Not to mention it was also very crunchy and hard. It fell apart on me after the first bite. Now the chocolate one was perfect with texture. It had all the qualities of a Macaron. Chewy texture and crisp shell. But the flavoring wasn't very good. It's kinda hard to mess up chocolate don't you think? Also these cookies are very tiny. I was disappointed leaving this place. I had macaroons which where a complete fail and overpriced. They flavors not good at all and they where crunchy and fell apart when you bit onto them. My lavender cupcake not good at all. The cream felt like a slab of butter. I expected the staff to be more friendly since this is a small town bakery. My sister tried chatting with them but they just were silent and awkward. Coffee is burnt and not good at all. Don't get coffee there. Walk to Starbucks which is around the corner. I just can't say enough good things about this place!! My fiance and I came across this gem while exploring our town just after moving into our new apartment. Such a great find! I drive through this street for 6-7 years. My boyfriend and I finally decided to come in and check their baked goods. One of the staff that greeted seemed really nice and had patience waiting for us. Another employee comes out of nowhere and takes our order. She didn't seem very happy at all. Idk if she was tired or something but she was very serious. We ended up getting two cupcakes (cookies n cream & blueberry... blueberry cheesecake, pistachio macaron & don't remember the other flavor of macaron. I was so excited to try these at home. I ate the cookies n cream. It wasn't good at all! The buttercream was so sweet, it wasn't edible for me. The chocolate cake was really bad. It tasted like a box cake not from the grocery store more commercial or maybe it was just a bad batch made. We didn't enjoy the blueberry cheesecake as well. I didn't like the crust.. it was very weird texture and as well for the cheesecake batter but it was okay. The macarons were okay definitely the best part. How can you go wrong with a store full of homemade sweets. They have one of the BEST carrot cakes we have had. It is super moist and they do not put raisins or nuts in it, but if you want that you can order one. We usually call a couple days before an event and ask them to hold from the frig for us. It is cheaper to do that then order custom cake. They always have new treats in the case. And we have never had a bad one... from cake pops to cinnamon rolls, creme puffs to cookies, different brownies, bars and cupcakes. This place has several seats inside and fridge with drinks. We went into this bakery today while driving through Kent. I had always been meaning to stop in because of the wonderful yummy job they did on my baby shower cookies. The young man helping us at the counter was beyond polite. He greeted us, helped us choose breakfast items, and even made our espresso drinks. He was attentive and even cleared our tray. The potato crumble, quiche, and monster cookies were delicious! Exactly the way a Saturday morning should start. The only thing that was slightly, slightly off putting was the prices. I would have purchased more, but $5 for a tiny loaf of banana bread and $2.75 for a square peanut butter bar wasn't reasonable enough for us...especially for something we didn't need. Lately a couple customers have felt the need to attack this beautiful bakery on guest services and prices. Let's try to clear this up. Specialty cakes take Alot of Time Materials and labor. That time is set aside for the customer and we'll let's face it, we all have to pay bills right? As far as pricing goes, I've compared Alot of bakeries prices before I set my menu for mine. Sweet themes is very reasonable for the quality that you receive. What Alot of people don't understand is why can't I get Costco prices right? Well let's compare. What Costco does is they produce a hand full of styles and flavors of cakes and mass produce them. Sweet themes, Celebrity cake studio, Creme De LA Creme to name a few, produce custom art and are scratch bakeries, which means Alot of ingredient cost. Not a box cake mix and frosting out of a can. Also most speciality bakeries have a minimum of $100.00 to $150.00 for orders. You pay for what you get and know they don't change the price on unique cakes. read more

Disappointed with the cupcakes! The pink champagne cupcake was beautiful but the it was dry & the entire thing(frosting & cake) tasted like a pink Starburst- not good. I couldn't take more than one bite. I tried a chocolate one with little pearls and the frosting tasted exactly like Pillsbury frosting but at least the cake part was moist. I'm happy to support a local business but I want to actually taste the difference from grocery store bought frosting & boxed cake. This bakery has a lot of unique and cute treats. The coffee selection is small but I always can find what I need. They have really cool cakes (even though I have never personally ordered one) and their small pastries are delicious and cute!
