I was originally introduced to the chain while doing an internship in Washington DC, and decided to give this place a try again while walking past the restaurant during a stroll around the area. My go to is the Harvest Bowl; the texture of the apple chunks add a satisfying textural crunch to the meal. Definitely a spot that I have visited on several occastions, the interior space is re-open again (was closed during the pandemic). I did recently go this past week and the size of the bowl is considerably smaller (maybe like 25%); I was informed that less content is being provided because of issues with their supply chain. The cheese was also not broken up and not distributed throughout the bowl, a large glob was just tossed on top of the greens... Probably because there are so many build-a-bowl eateries in the vicinity or maybe because this space will always be Oscar's to me, the greasiest burger grill in town. Well, I still haven't made it in there as we are all still in lockdown, but I found it on Grubhub for delivery one particularly lazy evening. Jamie W. decided on the $13.25 Buffalo Chicken Bowl. I ordered the green goddess salad. I submitted my order at 12:22pm. I got an eta of 12:45pm. I get there at 12:47pm it says it's still being prepared. It is really busy and people are coming in and asking where are there orders. It is 1:05pm now I ask where is my order. The gentleman I asked is looking around when another guys says I'm looking my order so now he looks for the other guys order. He finds his order and hands it to him. He comes back to me cannot find my order but finds my receipt. He starts making my order and asks what's inside a germ goddess. I can't remember every ingredient but I'm sure there isn't tomatoes and he gives me too much of it. I try to understand that it was a very busy time but to be so late on my order and screw that up and barely gave me anything else but made sure I got too much tomatoes even though this isn't in the order was very disappointing. He should have asked another staff if he wasn't sure how to make it. Also if you see many customers waiting around for their order the staff might want to ask people that they seen sitting there for half an hour if they can help them. Because there's only a few people getting in line to order in the store. There were about 80% of people waiting for their online orders. Why am I paying $14 to find a huge clump of rice pilaf at the bottom, and then eat basically all the cheese in another bite, and discover only one part of my salad to have dressing? I rather that they just put everything into little sections and I mix it myself than fake-mixing my salad for me. A fresh and healthy salad spot! It was a bit hard to find parking, but they do have a tiny parking lot right behind the store. Unfortunately their dine-in area was close when I visited (4:30pm), so we could only do the take out option. They do not take cash and you can only order through their app! I ordered the fish taco bowl, which had arugula as the base. I was not a fan of arugula before I tried this salad. They also have a custom option, so you can build your own salad. Boy what a long day. Alarm went off at 6 am managed to haul my carcass out of bed by 6:32 am. Yelled at the kids to hurry up and managed to get myself dressed in clothes that had minimal wrinkles. The staff there are always happy to serve you and seem to enjoy their job. Order online and the food has always been ready at the time specified. Fresh, flavorful, and did I say healthy. I got the Warm Bowl with a small but satisfying piece of trout and side of Cashew Pesto Sweet Potatoes (SO GOOD). Now I'm full, satisfied, and not bloated. This was my first time trying Sweetgreen. I'd been looking forward to checking them out for a long time and I finally got my head wrapped around paying $20 for a salad and went for it. I ordered the Super Green Goddess with chicken add-on. The veggie ingredients were okay but the green goddess ranch dressing was SO SALTY!! It made the salad inedible. It had to be a bad batch of dressing because there's no way they make the green goddess dressing this salty all the time. I forced myself to have a few bites but then gave up. My tongue felt raw from all the salt. It was so bad. I tried calling the restaurant to speak to a manager before posting this terrible 1-star review but they didn't pick up. Several times I've paid for extra things and they didn't put them in my order. I filed a complaint on the app but never heard back from them about my wrong orders. This is a great place to go to if you want a quick and healthy lunch or dinner. I got the kale Caesar salad and it was surprisingly good. Usually, I wouldn't get such a healthy sounding item, but since I was dieting and the kale Caesar only had 420 calories, I decided to get it. The romaine lettuce was super crisp and fresh and the kale added a nice light bitterness and earthiness. The parmesan crisps and shaved parmesan gave the salad a nice richness. The chicken was tender and meaty. The tomatoes and lime added a light acidity. And the dressing was super flavorful and brought everything together. I'm not usually a salad person, and I generally like my vegetables cooked rather than raw. But the salad here is so good, I didn't care that it was salad. I feel like the quality has gone a bit down, especially considering that the "spicy broccoli" in this salad was 90% thick broccoli stems. I still really like sweetgreen salads and think they have good customer service, but my latest experiences have been poor. I read on the news and hear on podcasts about how they're pivoting to become distribution kitchens, but I would say their distribution is quite lacking. Example 1: twice in the past month when I've attempted to get delivery, the app says delivery is unavailable. I know they deliver to my address, so maybe it's an unavailability of drivers (thru their partner Uber Eats). I always momentarily contemplate ordering SG on Doordash but then decide I don't want to pay the price premium. Example 2: the one time I managed to get delivery, they were 1 hour late and totally botched my salad (cauliflower rice instead of quinoa, left out my dressing, skimped on toppings). I complained and got a refund + a $20 credit, but I haven't been able to use the credit because of the aforementioned lack of delivery. Took 45min to get my salads, I ordered it with the steelhead and when I got back there was only chicken as the protein, I'm a vegetarian and so I took it back and politely asked them to remake it, they took the salad and simply took the chicken off and replaced it with the steel head, which is very unsanitary and is actually a health code violation, I was particularly upset because I was explicitly took them I'm a vegetarian.
