The biggest ding here is that I think Sweetgreen is WILDLY overpriced. I typically get the Shroomami Bowl with +chicken and it comes out to $21. No sides or drinks, just the bowl. That said, this particular location does load me up on that bowl! I can sometimes save half for the next day. It's CRAZY busy at weekday lunch, line is long and sometimes a huge crowd for mobile orders. It can be a hectic and a little overstimulating atmosphere. But the staff member that does the pick up orders is super super sweet and friendly! For most Americans this type of meal will not be "big enough" but I think the lesson is that these dishes are the perfect size for a meal, and perfectly healthy, even RFK Jr would agree. Now I love a healthy option for lunch, and truly do love the wide variety of options Sweet Green offers in terms of salads and grain bowls. The quality of ingredients at this location lived up to the SG name. However, if you value your time, do NOT pre-order or do order for pickup at this location. Especially during the lunch rush. I waited 40 minutes in the store past when my order was supposed to be ready (while pick up orders that were ordered wayyyy after mine were being prepared; no rhyme or reason to when they make the orders). Truly a waste of time, especially if you only have a short time to eat lunch during the work week. I would recommend coming in and just ordering the old fashioned way or ordering your lunch and picking up at least 1-2 hrs after it actually says it'll be ready. read more

Bad experience at this Sweetgreens. Went in to grab a quick lunch, a Chicken Avocado Ranch bowl. They were out of quinoa, told me the wait would be 7 minutes. They started putting together the bowl and then asked if I wanted to wait for the blackened chicken since they were out of that as well. I was told it would be 5 minutes. I waited there for at least 15-20 minutes and then they said the quinoa was going to be another 20 minutes. Decided to get the wild rice at that point since I was expecting this to be a quick trip and be right back to work. Finally got to the checkout and they asked if I wanted bread, I said yes, and then they told me they were out of bread too. Since I had been waiting there so long, I asked if I could get the focaccia bread (normally $2.45) for free instead, since they were out of everything, and I had to wait, and the manager came over and started lecturing me that I had made the decision to wait. Honestly one of the WORST delivery experiences. Premium ingredients I paid extra for were missing and as for the sweet potatoes they threw in a massive un cooked chunk in there. This was almost $19 too. I called them and they told me I had to contact doordash and there was nothing they could do. I contacted doordash and they said they only delivered it and did not make the food so couldn't help. I called Sweetgreen again which I was greeted with horrible service and a phone hang up. The line was pretty long however it moved fast as multiple people were completing orders. The menu has both salads and warm bowls available. I created my own salad with kale, romaine, mixed greens, cabbage, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers and steelhead with balsamic vinaigrette. Fresh and delicious. The bowls may seem small, but trust me, they're filling! I always make my own salad including my faves like spinach, wild rice, spicy broccoli, chickpeas, corn, sweet potato, and quinoa. For protein, I usually alternate between the chicken and the sesame tofu. The tofu here is sooooo addicting! I love the sesame oil glaze on it yum! Sometimes when I want to splurge a little, I get the steelhead as my protein, but it's so expensive! My bowl is $15+ if I get it...and sometimes the fish is a pretty small portion. I really love the salads but the amount of mess-up's when I pick the online ordering for my salad makes me give this place less stars. It sucks that they are in a small storefront and the line is always out the door especially during lunch. So I know they get busy. I really wish they would expand to more storefronts so maybe orders will be messed up less. Today, I went in and my salad wasn't there but my friends was. The team gathered for a meeting meal here and it's a nice shop. Super clean and bright, it looked like there were a bunch of take out orders. Their ingredients are fresh and bountiful. I had the Pesto Portobello which is a warm salad with warm quinoa, organic arugula, roasted chicken, warm portobello mix, raw corn, hot chickpeas, spicy broccoli, pesto vinaigrette clocking in at 775 calories and $12. Now if I ate this all in one sitting 775 would be insane! But it actually was a big portion and it made 3 meals for me so the calorie content per meal wasn't too bad. However my coworkers all ate their salads in one sitting. Nearly 800 calories for salad!? Ah! Madness. The portion is pretty big though so if you think $12 for a salad is pricey...it's actually not bad for what you get. The Pesto Portobello was one of their premade selections and though tasty & fresh, I don't think I'd get it again simply because of the high calories in it. All that aside, I like sweetgreen. It's a healthy & fast option we very much needed in Chicago. The workers wore shirts with cute sayings but seemed pretty over being there - kind of standoffish and bored attitude. To be honest I didn't know who or what they were until I came back to work from being remote for over a year to find out my firm buys us lunch daily, (give us a $50 weekly credit) and this is the place that provides us our lunch and who they have partnered with. Delicious...Delicious DELICIOUS!!! Every Salad/Warm bowl I have had has been good. Had the Chicken and Brussel Sprouts salad yesterday and the Fish Taco warm bowl today and I scrape the bowl of every piece of arugula or quinoa..lol! You literally build your own salad or warm bowl with whatever you want out of 1000 ingredients. Bowls are all made fresh to order and you can tell. The portion size is perfect and very filling. My job pays for it so the cost isn't a factor for me, but when I'm ordering I do see the cost and one salad or warm bowl can set you back $15 plus bucks depending on the salad and what extra you add, so definitely not a cheap food option, but for all fresh healthy ingredients I'm sure this justifies it.
