I swapped out the cheese and apples for corn and cucumbers. The bowl tasted great but it was definitely difficult to toss and mix everything evenly. I think if you eat there they can toss the salad for you. The food was very fresh and tasty. I'd definitely will stop by once a week. I had lunch with a co-worker at sweetgreen and we had an enjoyable lunch. First off, I'm not much of a salad guy... I love veggies, but a salad is more of an accoutrement than a main dish for me. However, my co-worker low-key loves this place and so I figured I'd give it a shot. The line was pretty long, literally out the door, when we arrived but it moved along at a pretty decent clip. What helped as well was an employee who was working the line and handing out menus - perfect for a n00b like me. Their menu is on par with most other salad places: they have pre-made combinations and then you can always make your own. I went with the Spicy Sabzi (with extra dressing...) and it was VERY TASTY! In fact, I was a bit surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Additionally, it was decently filling. I mean, I wasn't stuffed but I also was not hungry after finishing it. We took our salads to go so there isn't much I can say about the restaurant itself - however, it is pretty well kept (clean, well-lit, inviting) and everything is out in the open for you to see (behind a sneeze-guard, of course). The line is a bit of a pain for anyone dining-in, because it snakes through all the tables and renders some un-usable, but most everyone seemed to be making the best of the situation. Finally, the staff was friendly and quick and the prices are on par for what I like to spend for lunch ($10). Ordered food for delivery to an Outpost location across the street from the store. Received notification that delivery was made... it was not. Myself and several other people were all notified of delivery and none of them were delivered. Tried calling the store... apparently you are not allowed to talk to the store directly. You can only text with their customer support team who is 100% useless as they can only reach out to the store and wait for a response. My lunch period was used up trying to get an answer. In the end, I got a refund and a credit to my SG account which will not be used and I will never go there again. So first things first, yes their salads are amazing! They have a plethora of options from greens to toppings to dressing, and I can truly say I have loved everything I tried. If I want to do SG, I usually wait until 1 or order online, as the line wraps around the store and doesn't move as fast as one would expect at the lunch hour. My personal favorite salad is the hummus tahini, there is so much falafel in the salad and the dressing is amazing. One issue I have found, hence the four stars, with order the pre-made salads is that they like to leave out that an item is sold out or not available. There have been several occasions when they are about to put the lid on and I asked why they forgot XYZ topping and they said "well we are out" but failed to ever mention it. They never offer to replace the topping unless I specifically ask. Also there has been twice where they were out of hummus, so honestly I probably wouldn't have ordered the salad but I am not one to waste so I wasn't going to make them throw it away. All of the salads are really-well thought out and delicious. However, they sometimes skimp on the most expensive ingredient (which usually happens to be the star of the salad, like the peaches in the "Peaches and Burrata" late summer offering.) I was working in a nearby building and this place was close. It was lunch time and I did not want anything heavy. You enter this place and you get in line. The place is pretty busy but the line moves quick. There is a large menu with salad selections but you can also prepare a custom salad of your own. There are bbq based salad bowls, cobb, chicken, Thai, etc. I decided on the chicken salad. This is not self server. You place your order and also ask for any selections you wish to remove or add. The salad is plentiful. It is a good meal that fills you up depending on what you get. Overall it was a great idea to have a salad spot, especially for those like myself who love salads. I noticed a wall with many numbered items. There is a way to order ahead of time and they will place your order to the side. This is definitely the way to go for those that are rather busy. I was a bit annoyed that it still asked me for a credit card when I had credit that I was trying to use. I ordered their Pesto Portobello bowl with a few modifications. Standard one is roasted Chicken, Warm chickpeas, warm Portobello mix, spicy broccoli, raw corn, organic arugula and warm quinoa. I removed the raw corn and added Sweet Potatoes and ordered bread with the meal. I ordered around 12.10 and they said the pick up would be ready by 12:30 which is pretty great for lunch time in the loop. When I went there to pick up around 12:30 the line was out the door. I asked the person by the door about the pick up orders and she said they'll be on the shelf on the other side with your name. I went over and checked the shelf and mine wasn't there yet. I hung out for a bit waiting for my order and it really was a very efficient assembly line. Although the place was packed it was moving pretty quickly. People who were assembling the pick up orders bring the items over to the shelf as they are ready. I got distracted by the assembly line and when I checked in again after about 5 mins my order was already on the shelf. I grabbed my bowl didn't see any bags so grabbed utensils and was out the door pretty quickly as there were no open seats. The order was correct and they got my substitutions right. Yay! Only thing I didn't like is that they put the Pesto dressing container in the bowl. It was a pretty good size. I couldn't finish it and had some left over. I got the Kale Caesar Salad with fresh goat cheese and chicken. I don't even know how to describe it; it was fragrant and had a ton of flavor. The salad was huge! The goat cheese was so fresh and creamy I can still taste it. It was like soft butter and whipped cream with a tang. It was goat cheese straight from the cheese god's fingers. I could go on and on about the goat cheese 4 eva. SO, imagine that on top of the best caesar salad you've ever had. The dressing was a lemon vinaigrette (a little too tart for me), but it added the perfect zest to the salad. This is apparent in the fact that all of their locations have open kitchens, where you can see the food prep in action. I like this sort of transparency, as it tells me that this company wants to be honest about the business they run and the food they make. Meat-a-tarians and uber-hungry folks, worry not. The dressings and flavors are bold, yet not overwhelming. I'm extremely frustrated with Sweetgreen. Two years ago, this was a great place to grab a healthy option for lunch. In the last couple of years, though, this company has sought to cut corners, reducing portion sizes dramatically. My boss is a remarkably picky eater, so I've spent a good deal of time poking around restaurants in the area for somewhere she might enjoy. I finally convinced her to try sweetgreen and she LOVES it. The food is so fresh and delicious, I love their seasonal menu and the dressings. I appreciate that they're super conscientious about ingredients and allergens/sensitives. I was picking up dinner for my roommate, and a manager went through the dressings with me and sent me home with some options so she could have her pick. Yes, they are super busy, but the employees are always positive and moving as fast as they can. I appreciate that they are taking their time to prepare a fresh, custom meal for each customer. They might benefit from an order taker moving through the line, but I understand that would be an expensive investment and the layout of the store is not very friendly to that.
