    grilled steak plate
    Miranda L.

steak plate full of flavor. Mashed potatoes creamy as usual. Veggies are also good a bit on the salty side. Good as usual. consistent and usually a good meal and good time here. Cute and casual spot with ambient lighting. Nice and spotless clean. Fast service. Order at the front, they bring food out with warmed plates. There were a few times the steak was a but overcooked and I find the veggies too salty but that was when I went as they're closing. But usually they're pretty good about keeping it consistent.

first timer and wao i should come and try other dishes on the menu more often. would say v well seasoned and healthy nutritious food overall! came here with my coworker and we ordered the chicken salad, tender burger (to go), and the chicken pesto pasta -- the tomatoes were so yommy and string beans crispy although i'd like them a lil softer,,, the chickn was perfectly salted and grilled, the bread wthelly was sooo good and pasta was just nice

I came to LA for a conference for work and I literally ate here three times bc I loved it so much! Affordable healthy food made fresh?! Yes please! I got the steak, roasted veggies, and tried both the crispy potatoes and the roasted potatoes, loved it all! Good portions for the price. Highly recommend for a healthy option. Please expand to Chicago!!

They always make a mistake. Terrible manager at only this location.

If I could give this location zero stars I would. Every single time we order at this specific location they mess up on something. Either they forget to include an item or it's not made as you requested. It's really frustrating. Today this was my well done steak. If you don't know well done steak should never be bloody. In fact most restaurants avoid any blood, as to not risk getting their customers sick. We've been to all the surrounding locations plus San Diego and this is the only location that just can't seem to get it right. Unfortunately we live in walking distance.

Grilled Salmon Plate with Romaine Hearts and Crispy Potatoes
    Janelle S.

My friend and I both ordered the salmon plate. I got it with romaine hearts and crispy potatoes and she got it with romaine hearts and grilled vegetables. The plates also came with a piece of sourdough bread. The salmon was well cooked and not dry at all. The romaine hearts were cut up and served very similarly to a caesar salad. The crispy potatoes seemed to be baked and they were crispy on the outside and super creamy on the inside. We both really enjoyed what we got and felt that the portion sizes were well worth the price. She also ordered the pomegranate ginger agua fresca, she really liked it and said she would get it again. I thought it had quite a strong ginger flavor, so I would only get it if you enjoy the flavor of ginger. The restaurant was fairly empty for a Saturday night, but it was likely due to the rain. But we had no trouble getting a table. You order at the counter and they'll give you a number, then they'll bring out your food to you. The service was super nice and quick. I was surprised by how quickly they brought our food out. The restaurant is a nice place to eat dinner at and to chat with friends at. I will definitely come again, if I want a well balanced meal out.

    Salmon plate

On April 9th we had food delivered to our office. The steak & shrimp plates were just OK. The size of the short rib was about 1 tablespoon ! The salmon was a bad cut / an ending , very dry ! It look very unappetizing, tasted the same . Some of the bread slices were half of the others . I called the restaurant & asked for the manager , I just wanted to mention our order , to make sure it is not happening to other customers . I was told the classic ,, not in , will call you tomorrow "! As of today , 4/16 , no call was received. I decided to post this review hoping this way they would improve their services .

    Cobb salad
    Daniel B.

Not half bad. While tender green's non-Cobb salad Cobb salad is certainly uncharacteristic of a traditional Cobb-salad, it was sneakily solid for what it was. So, it has the dressing consistent to a house chopped salad. It's vinaigrette based, not the blue cheese style. Also has chopped olives and a few peppers. Slice of bread was baked well well, crunchy and mildly sprinkled with a some olive oil. 16 and some change in 2024

Rustic Chicken Soup. Poor quantity and not even half filled. Whoever filled it up should not be working there.

I have to agree with other reviewers that the staff who work the host/hostess stand aren't great, but our waitress and bus boy were. Usually we are invited by others so it was our first time experience by ourselves. The inside was full so we sat outside, luckily the sun wasn't really bright and full, otherwise it would've been too hot to be outside. We got a table for 6 because there were 5 of us. We ordered water but also an orange juice, they had house made sodas but we thought hydrating with water on a hot day is better. We got an appetizer to share, white bean dip, with oregano flatbread. It was delicious, it reminded me of a thick bean soup and it had beets, orange slices, and walnuts. I ordered the chicken piccata, the others ordered lamb pita and a burger. If you want to replace a different protein for a dish like salad or pasta, there's a fee which they said follows the add options not replacement options. The chicken piccata came with risotto, I usually don't order risotto on its own so happy to have it as a side, it was a bit hard and a few bites were chalky, but the rest were good. Loved the broccolini with capers, and left the lemon alone. Chicken was tender but also very small, but still deliciously flavored. Very attentive staff, wonderful ambiance with a nice breeze and nature surrounding our table. I think it's a very relaxing break from the other places we could've chosen in Westwood. The place is also does not charge for gratuity which is surprising with the great service included. May try to come back to treat a great coworker or come as a team!

I love the little animal paintings on the wall, and the wall made of books. It wasn't too busy the day we went, which was nice since it wasn't too loud. Now the food.... well that's the whole reason I'm writing this! I'm used to having dry af salmon at restaurants but this place blew my mind! I didn't know you were able to have your salmon cooked medium rare or well (like a normal steak), so when I was asked that I was taken back. I believed I chose on having it cooked medium. The whole dish -- flaky salmon, creamy cauliflower smash, well seasoned greens -- was an experience from start to finish. I haven't had a salmon dish that delicious in AGES!! Someone in the kitchen got down that day, so hats off to the chef! My fam was satisfied & they enjoyed their dishes as well. Unfortunately there was a mishap where some appetizers weren't brought out but we resolved that. The waiter was attentive & kind (and really handsome lol) I really wish I remembered his name, but he made the experience memorable as well. He was kind enough to step away from his duties to take a few group photos of my family. I'll def come back again, and next time I'll try their drinks!

I'll preface everything below with the fact that there were only 3 tables of customers in the restaurant and several bar and wait staff. It was NOT busy. The service is terrible. We were greeted and seated quickly. The girl getting our water could not remember if we ordered ice or not. Two trips later, the three of us had water. Our server approached us quickly but we were not ready to order. From this point on, it was like we were invisible. We ordered one appetizer (Guacamole Fresca w/ chips), a burger and the short rib grilled cheese. Our entrees were served ahead of our chips and guacamole when I commented, we were told they were still working on the appetizer. Seems odd that it takes more time to serve chips and guacamole than it does to prepare the entrees. No apology or acknowledgement from any staff members. My beer glass and my son's water glass sat empty for 10 minutes. When we asked for refills, it took nearly another 10 minutes to receive the beverages. Our server NEVER came to check on us. We were NEVER asked how we were doing or if we wanted dessert. When asking for our check, the server had to bypass us twice and then told us that we had to fill out the receipt before the card could be run. In a city with so many dining choices, service is as important as food quality and taste. The new management has work to do or this will be another failed restaurant. We will NOT be returning.

The menu tonight is themed with a movie playing at the Hammer. So it's not the normal fare. But from what I understand, they do a different prix fix menu every night, in addition to their normal offerings. This meal was wonderful. The first course was a poblano chile filled with a walnut based stuffing. It was delicate and brilliant. It was also a dish from the movie that was served at a wedding and everyone fell in love. The main was a medley of different seafoods (scallops, shrimp, clams, and tilefish) with vegetables (hominy, garlic, avocado, onion, and chile) and a lovely broth that was deconstructed and wonderful. The dessert was just enough too. It seemed to be inspired by the wedding cake from an early scene in the movie. Really great. The service is perfect. The waitperson was friendly and helpful. Service was fine, but nothing special. We were greeted, seated and the waitress took our orders. Once the food arrived, our waitress barely came by again except towards the end to drop off our check. Other staff did come by to clear our empty plates from the table, so that was nice. We did notice that they only provided 1 serving spoon for all of our dishes. Would've liked a serving utensil with each dish to minimize cross-contamination and mixing of flavors. Throughout our dining, there were flies and small bugs flying around, which was off-putting and annoying as we had to keep swatting them away from landing on our food. 1. Farmhouse Beet Salad (5/5) It's a good thing this was the 1st dish to arrive at our table as it left a good 1st impression. The roasted organic beets were fresh and had that earthy-tone to it. Dressed with their lemon-oregano vinaigrette, feta, arugula, and candied pecans. OMG, those candied pecans were heavenly. It's crunchy and toasted to perfection. the candied flavor of it was addictingly delicious. If they have a menu item of candied pecans, I'll order it any day. 2. Trio Taco (2.5/5) You can choose between chicken, steak, shrimp, plant-based chicken, or jackfruit. We opted for steak. The steak was fine, but for BBQ sauce used was just a dish killer. They need to rethink the choice of sauce used in these tacos. Also, not a fan of corn tortilla. Wish they gave a choice between corn and flour tortilla. 3. Artisan Bread & Butter (5/5) Their sourdough bread sliced, grilled and brushed generously with garlic olive oil. Severed with a side of whipped duckfat butter. I've never had duck fat butter before, so this was a pleasant experience to try. Not to worry, there's no duck flavor at all. It's almost like cream cheese but lighter and airer. 4. Ahi Filet (1.5/5) Sesame-crusted ahi with a side wasabi aioli. The ahi was so-so; definitely, not the freshest and there's no "melt-in-your mouth" joy. The wasabi aioli sauce was good though. There is a subtle spice kick from the wasabi. It's served with a side of soba noodles that was gingery and peanuty in flavor. Unfortunately, the noodles were overcooked as they stuck to each other in clumps. 5. Bacon & Blue Burger (4.5/5) Quite a satisfying burger consisting of wagyu beef, duroc bacon, aged blue cheese, caramelized onions, and arugula. It's juicy, meaty, slightly tangy from the horseradish aioli and sweet from the port wine reduction. The brioche bun was pleasantly soft. 6. Thai Ginger Salad (3/5) This salad consists of romaine lettuce as the base. It is dressed with Thai sesame dressing, which was underwhelming. The toppings for this salad include fresh mango cubes, slaw, slices of avocado, fresh peanut bits, tomato and soba noodles. It's not a bad salad, but for the price, I do not think it is worth it. 7. Superfood Longevity Salad (4/5) A salad consisting of mixed greens (lacinato kale and spring mix) with a variety of rich, nutritious toppings (organic beets, quinoa, pomegranate, radish, blueberries, almonds, dried Bing cherries, and pepitas). The dressing is a sherry vinaigrette that's tangy, creamy and light. All the ingredients came together well. If you are looking for a hearty salad, this is for you. 8. Hibiscus Rosé (4/5) Sparkling rosé with hibiscus flavor infused with grapefruit skin to give it a bit of citrus note and topped off with a micro flower to add a special touch of decor to the drink. In summary, the food looks better than it actually tastes. Come here if you want to eat out with a large party for celebration, but otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it for a special night out as the price does not justify the experience.
