Had I written this review 2-3 weeks ago I would've probably given it a 4 or even 5. Even though the ambiance is dismal and the music really loud so that I changed my order from dine-in to take out, the salt and pepper chicken plate with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies was quite good. Fresh and tender. Today I went back and was disappointed. Perhaps because it's Valentine's Day and things are slow, but I ordered the same dish. This location is always clean with friendly service. It's located in Westwood Village so they can get pretty busy during lunch hour (expect a longer wait time than usual). The mint lemonade is a must! I always order the albacore plate or the steak plate with arugula salad and seasonal vegetables. Delicious! If I could give this location zero stars I would. Every single time we order at this specific location they mess up on something. Either they forget to include an item or it's not made as you requested. It's really frustrating. Today this was my well done steak. If you don't know well done steak should never be bloody. In fact most restaurants avoid any blood, as to not risk getting their customers sick. Ive ordered Postmates here several times and every time it gets delivered it's missing items, the food is cold (I live 3 miles away and order priority) and the portions are smaller than any other Tender Greens. Tried to call to speak to someone and the manager wouldn't help and the girl, "Raven" had an attitude when I tried to tell her the problem. It's a no from me. My friend and I both ordered the salmon plate. I got it with romaine hearts and crispy potatoes and she got it with romaine hearts and grilled vegetables. The plates also came with a piece of sourdough bread. The salmon was well cooked and not dry at all. The romaine hearts were cut up and served very similarly to a caesar salad. The crispy potatoes seemed to be baked and they were crispy on the outside and super creamy on the inside. We both really enjoyed what we got and felt that the portion sizes were well worth the price. She also ordered the pomegranate ginger agua fresca, she really liked it and said she would get it again. I thought it had quite a strong ginger flavor, so I would only get it if you enjoy the flavor of ginger. The restaurant was fairly empty for a Saturday night, but it was likely due to the rain. But we had no trouble getting a table. You order at the counter and they'll give you a number, then they'll bring out your food to you. The service was super nice and quick. I was surprised by how quickly they brought our food out. The restaurant is a nice place to eat dinner at and to chat with friends at. I would come here everyday if their food was made fresh to order , but they have the chicken and the fish sitting there all pre- made for the so called rush that they get at lunch and a lot of times served cold. No one wants to eat fish, chicken, and steak that was made earlier for over 20$. Or they reheat it which makes it overdone and dry . This is why this place isn't busy because no one cares. i come here every single wednesday and saturday and every time i show up i am pleasantly surprised by the amazing customer service and high quality of the items on their menu. Everything from the chocolate chip cookies to chicken pesto sandwich is top tier. I always leave feeling very satisfied with my belly stuffed to the brim with amazing high quality, healthy food. On April 9th we had food delivered to our office. The steak & shrimp plates were just OK. The size of the short rib was about 1 tablespoon ! The salmon was a bad cut / an ending , very dry ! It look very unappetizing, tasted the same . Some of the bread slices were half of the others . Not half bad. While tender green's non-Cobb salad Cobb salad is certainly uncharacteristic of a traditional Cobb-salad, it was sneakily solid for what it was. So, it has the dressing consistent to a house chopped salad. It's vinaigrette based, not the blue cheese style. Also has chopped olives and a few peppers. There is no other place which has received so many orders from me in one lifetime. I swear, the tuna niçoise salad is PERFECTION. The green beans ALWAYS are cooked to perfectly, the capers OMG, the egg and the tuna cooked to my liking. Every time I receive my Doordash order, the salad literally looks better than the picture - which never happens with any other restaurant. My only concern, however, is in the last 6 years or so that I have ordered this salad, the food portion has shrunken to half the size and half the meat. I believe I am now paying more for less food. I'm certain it is because of the rising cost of operating a business, and still, it is worth it for me, but I just can't purchase the salad as much as I would like to anymore. I've been coming to this Tender Greens since I was an undergrad, and I'm so glad they've stuck around (especially for a location that's a bit far from UCLA's campus/a bit hard to find). Their menu features pre-built or build your own salad and rice bowl options. Their greens and salads are always really fresh, and the quality of their protein is definitely top tier and cooked a lot better than most restaurant chains. My only gripe is the portion size- some of their bowls, such as the Thai Grilled Shrimp bowl, come with a LOT LESS protein compared to other options. This inconsistency bothers me, especially since it's not reflected in the price, and it's a bit unreasonable to charge $17 before tax for 5 pieces of shrimp. I understand that Tender Green emphasizes healthy options and this is reflective of LA portion sizes, but I'd rather have the option of a more well-balanced meal at the end of the day. read more

Go once: Yes! Go again: Yes. Tender Greens is a genuinely great chain in Southern CA. It does somewhat depend on location admittedly, but if you want to have standard American food that's a bit healthier, it's kind of hard to beat. I enjoy their food most of the time. I've had maybe one dish out of the more than two dozen times I've been here that wasn't particularly for me. This is a spot that I go back to consistently because they consistently make good food. If you're looking to sit down, eat and have a relatively inexpensive but delicious meal, this place is hard to beat. read more

Wow! We have not been to Tender Greens in over 10 years and so happy we decided to go tonight. We were so impressed with the staff, they were very accomodating, friendly, answered all of our questions and genuinely seemed happy to be at work! What more can you ask for? Attached you will see pictures of what we ordered, everything was SOOO good with exception of the Chipotle Barbecue Chicken Salad, it tasted kind of plain, I felt like it needed to be spiced up with something....maybe some sundried tomatoes or artichoke, I don't know. Everything else was delicious and we would order each of the items again! I am a registered dietitian, great to see they have so many healthy options.
