Still working my way through the $105.00 California Pizza Kitchen gift card the management company in the building where I live gave me. As I side note, if you live in an apartment in the Los Angeles area, do not allow anyone from DGO Construction into your apartment. Although I like my CPK Gift Card, I would have preferred my apartment not being trashed under the guise of "rewiring". Today I went to the California Pizza Kitchen location in Westwood Village. Unlike the takeout horrors I encountered at the Beverly Hills CPK location, the CPK in Westwood Village has a separate door and counter way back in the corner for takeout orders so the tables in the restaurant can be used by guests, rather than being covered with takeout orders waiting to be picked up. I had a lunch duo of a Thai Crunch Salad and a Thai Chicken Pizza. Everything was very good and there was a lot of it. I probably won't be hungry again until tomorrow morning. Do not order with automated AI voice recognition over the phone! I ordered Shrimp Kung Paw Spaghetti and the system kept on calling Grilled Kung Pow spaghetti but keep asking if I want to add chicken or shrimp. So even confirmed by saying I just shrimp only, it replied it already comes with grilled shrimp. However kept asking if I want chicken or shrimp again. Furthermore, my one order was not made with shrimp. The system is not reliable enough to order. I brought my order & found no shrimp only my order. Came as a walk in on a Friday night - just two people. We were seated right away. Salmon Scampi - Tons of lemon in this dish. Maaaaaybe a little too much lemon. Might be a preference thing since I always lean on the side of wanting less lemon than more. Noodles and salmon were cooked perfectly. The capers offered a nice burst of salt. Great dish overall. Artichoke and Spinach Dip - Cheesy heaven! You can't even taste the artichoke or Spinach (that's a good thing). You're basically eating cheese and that's ok!! Comes with salty tortilla chips. Cosmo Martini - STRONG. I almost gagged lol. My fiance seemed to like it so I pawned my half drunk martini to him. It was strong and sweet at the same time. Not my favorite. Butter Cake - We added vanilla ice cream. Soooo good! Definitely get it with the ice cream - the whipped cream droplets aren't enough. I did wish there was some sort of berry to break up the sweetness, but this was super good! The tables were a little close together for my liking. The two seaters were lined up in a row against the window. I had to pull out my chair carefully and make sure I didn't slouch or else my back would be touching the other person's back that was behind me. A little uncomfortable. Took a while for our waters to come. The waiters seemed pretty slammed and were trying their best though. The food came out timely. This CPK location is great! Came for lunch with coworkers! It wasn't busy and we came around 11:30, there were other people coming in for lunch and some even came for drinks at the bar. The place is very clean, you can see the pizza oven, servers, and staff near the kitchen. Our waiter was attentive but also busy with all the tables, it seemed like he was the only one taking orders and other staff helped bring the food. We each got pizza duo, which is actually a great deal. The duo is that you have the options of a pizza and a soup or salad. You can also sub the crust with cauliflower which is extra. We also got some free bread dipped in olive oil, red pepper flakes, and herbs. Delicious bread which was soft and chewy inside and crunchy crust. The pizza was delicious, I got the new burnt ends one which had decent amount of meat and the server also grated some Parmesan cheese on top. I also got a bbq chicken salad and having both made the meal so much better balanced. We paid with the waiter who brought a mobile device and everything was right at our table. Hadn't been to CPK in a minute and this location is in my neighborhood and my boyfriend and were starving for lunch. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower which were very tasty, garlic cream fettuccine (added chicken) and it was so bomb and their new steak house salad that was perfect- it had a lot of steak and other filling ingredients. Overall, all the food was very tasty and filling. Our server was very kind and attentive to us the entire time. I attended a school fundraiser on a Tuesday night. I ordered take-out instead of dining in because it was very crowded. I waited about 35 minutes to take out 4 orders: Kung Pao Spaghetti with chicken, Creamy Garlic Fettuccine with Shrimp, 1 hand tossed pepperoni pizza, & 1 Thai pizza. The total bill was $96.26. The pasta portions were in very small plastic take-out containers, & the sizes were disappointing for the price. The dine-in pasta portions were in very large bowls. The service & food quality were fair. The noise level was loud. The facility lighting was dark. Street parking is available. Belive it or not, but this was my first time at cpk. I would always get the frozen pizzas from cpk but would never actually go in person. This place was actually pretty yummers. I dont know if I was extra hungry that day but I quite literally downed a whole pizza myself. I went with 3 of my friends and shared the pizzas with 2 of my friends and I quite literally thought sharing 2 pizzas (each person gets 4 slices) was a lot but we ended up ordering ankther LMAO. But I would say 2 is pretty good for a party of 3, my friends and I r just big backs. Would def reccomend the Sicilian pizza. The promise of a free appetizer made me sign up at the table for a few minutes since the website is not very mobile friendly and then when I altered our server she said you don't get the free appetizer until 72 hours later, which was a bummer. I definitely don't come frequently enough to make that happen but you can tell they are trying to nudge people into that frequent reward mindset, maybe there are others who do CPK more frequently. The spicy shrimp appetizer was my favorite of everything! Their to go bags are absolutely huge. The redeeming deal they offered is a pizza to go for only $9 with purchase of an entree and it's for each entree, so two different people in our party took advantage of the deal for a $9 take home pizza! Sunday night dinner and our usual family get together with the family (party of 5) on a Super Bowl Sunday at this CPK location. This eatery was packed and busy yet we were seated within a few minutes from arriving. Great customer service from the hostess all the way to our waiter Rene. Once we were seated Rene came by with water and bread and asked if we wanted any drinks. He came back several minutes later on to check if we were ready to place our order. Our order consists of Garlic Cream Fettuccine with Chicken, BBQ Chicken Pizza, Mushroom Pepperoni Sausage Pizza, Kung Pao Spaghetti with Chicken (we requested no peanuts) and West Coast Burger. Our food arrived in a timely manner. We didn't wait too long for all the food to arrive all together. As always their Garlic Cream Fettuccine with Chicken was perfect. It was creamy, tasteful and the chicken was not over cooked. The West Coast Burger was delicious. The beef was tender and not over cooked nor salty. The pizzas were all perfect with the crust baked just right and not too crispy. Plenty of toppings. Rene was great as he came by a few times to check on us and refill our drinks, water and bread. We love and frequent CPK restaurants whether we're in California or Las Vegas. It's one of our child's favorite eateries. Customer service have been consistent and great on the locations we visit frequently including the CPK inside Fashion Show Las Vegas. I would have given 5 stars however my points weren't credited to the CPK rewards card until I emailed customer relations. This is a fairly smaller CPK in Westwood. There is street parking and a structure. I ordered the West coast burger. It was good and savory. Personally I should've held off on the American cheese. The martini wasnt great either, and I was charged $21.40 for the privilege of "enjoying" a third of it before I came to my senses. The remodel of the restaurant was nice, and the servers were the bright spot. $50 for a lousy martini with matching salad. This visit sounds the death knell for any desire I may have had for CPK. Thankful to CPK for honoring veterans but this particular location has a manager named Mark that will make your experience horrible. I went in for the promotion and he was aggressive and had a meltdown. He literally wanted to have an argument back and forth with me because I didn't know what I ordered. I gave my waiter permission to choose my meal upon sitting down. "How could you not know what you ordered?" He yelled at me embarrassing himself. His whole staff is watching him pace back and forth as if he wanted to fight me. I found it hilarious because here he is arguing with a single woman in a completely dead restaurant. He continues to try to talk down to me because I asked to speak with his manager. Thankfully my experience in the service has shown me how to conduct myself and I can guarantee Mark would have never chose to approach in such a manner and disrespect veterans. Water tasted like chlorine and it is severely over staffed so expect to be gawked at by bodies roaming around looking for something to do. Shame on this CPK location. WOMEN BE WARNED -- ESPECIALLY BLACK WOMEN. I don't write reviews often, but what happened here needs to be said publicly so no other woman ends up in the situation we did. The way the managers at this location treat women is unprofessional, nasty, and completely unacceptable. When we came to them with a serious situation, instead of listening, supporting, or even showing basic human respect, they were dismissive, rude, and acted like we were the problem. The attitude was cold, careless, and borderline hostile -- especially toward my girlfriend as a Black woman. The lack of empathy and respect was loud. It was clear they didn't want to help, didn't want to take responsibility, and didn't care about how shaken and uncomfortable she was. This is NOT a safe or respectful place for women, and definitely not a place that values Black women or their safety. If you're a woman thinking about coming here, please protect your peace and go somewhere else. If you're a Black woman? Absolutely avoid this place. This was actually my first time at a CPK in California. We had a good experience - the drinks were tasty and the food was good! It's not the best pizza ever but it's a good meal. Shared a pizza and a pasta dish (not pictured) and it was plenty of food. The mushroom pizza was good for those who like that umami flavor. We also got a shrimp pasta and it was good, albeit a little heavy on the oil. Our server was nice. Check to see if they are doing some sort of fundraiser for UCLA student organizations! I had a dog with me, so I was seated outside. I ordered just water to start, and the cup came dirty which wasn't a great start. I ordered the BBQ chicken salad...and it was average. Just recently had CPK down by UCLA and enjoyed the food! The selection is always great at CPK and they're always pretty dependable but the service was a bit slow. We asked for refills on water about 4x and on the 5th is when we finally got the water, so that wasn't great. BUT we did all enjoy the quality and size our lunches so that was nice. I love this location in Westwood! There's a cute outdoor seating area and the staff is very kind. It's a great place for students at ucla to grab a meal or share pizza with visiting family members. What can I say, it's CPK, and it's always a treat! BBQ Chicken Pizza is ALWAYS a good idea. During COVID times since the spring of 2020, we've ordered curbside pickup several times from here. Having kids with me in the car, I can't express enough how much I appreciate that curbside pickup is being offered. Order online, pull up to designated spot (hopefully the three spots aren't taken over... which actually is an issue sometimes), then call the number written on the sign. It's usually easy and simple. You'd have to show your ID if alcohol is purchased. My kids have been hooked on their bake-your-own personal pizza kit. Amazingly it's only $5 per pizza and it's so cute! We just pop it in the toaster oven after the kids have fun with it and it's ready! They used to ask to go pick up CPK every weekend. I think they forgot about it recently, but I'll be sure to refresh their memories soon for another pizza night. Thank you! read more
