Peaches and Goat Cheese Seasonal Salad 8.28/10- made with spring mix, shredded kale, peaches, goat cheese, cucumbers, roasted almonds, and balsamic vinaigrette. I added roasted chicken, roasted sweet potato, and za'atar bread crumbs to it since I normally get the harvest bowl but wanted to try something new. Normally I don't like fruit in my salad but this was actually really good! The spring mix and kale were fresh and crisp, and the roasted almonds added great crunch. The balsamic vinaigrette was perfectly tangy and not too heavy. I do wish the peaches were a bit colder in the salad though, they were more room temperature which made them less refreshing. There could definitely be more peaches included in the salad too since they were the star ingredient. The goat cheese was good but I wish they had smaller pieces more spread out throughout the salad, rather than those big chunks that were hard to distribute evenly. The roasted chicken I added was tender and well-seasoned, and the roasted sweet potato was perfectly caramelized and added nice sweetness. The za'atar bread crumbs were such a great touch as they added amazing flavor and texture that really elevated the whole salad. This was a nice change from my usual harvest bowl and I want to try the other seasonal salads- elote bowl and caprese. The combination of sweet peaches with tangy goat cheese and crunchy almonds was really well thought out. Also the newport location has robots making your food which is really interesting as the other OC locations are not like this! Instagram: @hungrytamale

4stars to the always-amazing harvest bowl, which always hits the spot. But the Caesar wrap, which apparently is a new creation was lacking flavor and was just too dry - I would not repeat the wrap. Service is good, clean, the salad bowl preparation is automated at this location, so pretty cool to watch.

Really enjoyed the salad here. Everything tasted super fresh and the ingredients went really well together. The portion was generous and the dressing had a lot of flavor without overpowering everything. Definitely one of the better salads I've had lately and I'd come back for it again.

I have been a loyal Sweetgreen customer since before they started expanding across Orange County. I usually prefer the Tustin location but was at Fashion Island today and stopped by for lunch. Unlike the Tustin Sweetgreen, this location does not have humans who make your food, but instead you place your order on a tablet and machines behind the counter prepare your bowl for you. I decided to try their new KBBQ plate and placed an online order for pickup ahead of time. The good news is that it was ready in about 7 minutes. The bad news is that when I opened my bowl, over half of it was broccoli and rice, and my protein portion was almost nowhere to be found. Seriously, look at the picture I included - there's no more than 1/4 cup of steak in there and that's no exaggeration. For an extra $6-$7 for steak, and $20 for my plate in total, I should have way more than 2oz on my plate! While machines make your food here, there are people who are still working there prepping the ingredients, so I showed them my bowl and one of the girls was considerate enough to get me another serving of steak. But I think if they just had actual people making the bowls in the first place, this wouldn't happen and there wouldn't be the need for quality control of the machines. They say AI/ robots/ machines are going to start taking jobs and if this is their trial run, it backfired and is a prime example of why we need to keep actual people employed and not automate everything. Can't say I'll be back to this location any time soon.

I had never been to Sweetgreen before but saw it advertised in a fitness blog so I was at Fashion Island today and decided to try it out in the spirit of being healthy. The interesting thing about Sweetgreen is pretty much everything is automated! You walk in and place your order at a kiosk and then a machine conveyer belt of ingredients makes your bowl for you! Then the only real live person is the person that picks it up, adds your dressings then hands you the bowl. So interesting! Like most of these health food places, Sweetgreen is only as healthy as you order. They have a variety of pre-set bowls, or you can do what I did and make a custom bowl yourself. You could easily make a 1,000 calorie bowl but I tried to keep mine around 500 calories to be healthier. For first impression I liked my bowl. The biggest surprise was the herb roasted chicken came out looking shredded almost like how crab for crabcakes looks, but when I ate it, it was actually delicious (and for sure tasted like chicken!). I liked the herb roasting flavoring. My other favorite toppings were the spicy broccoli (not really spicy at all), warm portobello mix and the warm roasted sweet potatoes. The goat cheese was ok but be warned it's not crumbles, the scoop it in a little scoop like an ice cream scoop. Overall, my bowl was over $20 and I thought it was definitely not worth that. Everything was good here but the experience was lackluster for the price. I can make my healthy food at home and instead eat out at more exciting & flavorful places.

Shroomami bowl 10/10 and never misses. I like this location because for one it's really nice and they have the easiness of kiosks to choose from. There's outdoor seating which they don't clean office but my salad came out pretty quickly. I always get the same thing. They have a station where you can grab a to-go back & utensils on your way out. It's pretty clean.

    Jacob M.

I got the Shroomami protein plate which was great! It was a tofu bowl with a miso dressing. I also ordered the new air fried potato fries. They were so good and fresh tasting. I can't wait to come back here again!

I'm so happy a sweetgreen location opened up at Fashion Island because I definitely can order from here more frequently now. I like to order custom bowls, however I have tried the ones straight from their menu as well including the Chicken Avocado Ranch bowl and the Buffalo Chicken bowl. I honestly was not a big fan of these ones. Particularly, I thought the Buffalo Chicken bowl did not have a good balance of flavors as it was overall more on the sour/tangy side and overpowered the other flavors. I also usually love cilantro, but it does not belong in this bowl. And so I stick with ordering custom bowls. I have tried a couple that I enjoy and they certainly keep me coming back: - bowl 1: chopped romaine, white rice, blackened chicken, roasted sweet potatoes, shredded cabbage, tomatoes, cucumbers, pickled onions, apples, crispy onions, spicy cashew dressing, and miso sesame ginger dressing *** the spicy cashew dressing and miso sesame ginger dressing combo is elite and my all-time favorite*** - bowl 2: Miso Glazed Salmon bowl with spring mix, wild rice, roasted sweet potatoes, avocado, shredded cabbage, pickled onions, cucumbers, green goddess ranch and spicy cashew dressing I usually order online and will pick up here. They finish my order pretty quickly and I don't have to wait for a long time during lunch hour. There are tables inside, but they tend to be full so I will sit outside. The biggest drawback though to being located in Fashion Island is definitely the portion size. I am hardly ever full after eating here and I am paying a lot for my bowls as well. The portions are definitely smaller compared to other locations. You don't get much value here, but I still return because the location is convenient for me and I still like the food.

The newest location at Fashion Island. The manager Tammy told me about this when I was at the HB location for the Yelp event, and so glad she did! There is a $5 off Promo Code for new app users. Just know that you have to complete your account first, with added payment option, before that discount will show up. All of the meat here is high quality and delicious! I have now tasted their chicken, salmon, and the garlic steak. My favorite is the steak, but all the meats are perfectly seasoned. The wild rice is so good too, and all of their sauces are super flavorful. They also have great drink options. I will have to get one of their organic Krispy rice treat desserts next time. It's got quinoa and is naturally sweetened. So curious what that tastes like.

    Mia G.

Pretty neat healthy concept, however if humans were making the bowls it would be portioned properly. Unpaid $20 for a bowl that only had a tablespoon of rice and a tablespoon of chicken on top of a lot of greens. There's humans working there also who hand you the machine made order. They were helpful and friendly. Might give them another try. Place was clean ambiance was ok.

    Justin M.

Food is decent and fast but this is what happens when machines prepare it. Buried at the bottom of my bowl was a large piece of plastic bag. This was impossible to miss, but who knows what else I may have consumed unknowingly here. It's a shame because this place has potential.

It wasn't overly sweet like a lot of brunch spots tend to do. The balance was just right, letting the flavors shine without feeling like dessert for breakfast. The blueberries, maple syrup, and cream brought everything together perfectly. The spicy shrimp pasta was equally impressive. It had a great kick to it, but the spice didn't overpower the dish. You could still taste all the flavors of the pasta, shrimp, and sauce. That's a rare thing because too many places mistake heat for flavor. Great Maple got it right. The restaurant was very busy, which is usually a good sign, but despite the crowd, the service never slipped. Our servers were attentive, friendly, and kept everything moving smoothly. If I had one minor complaint, it's that the popularity means you should expect a wait during peak hours. But after eating here, it's easy to understand why it's packed. Excellent food, attentive service, and a brunch experience that's worth coming back for. Human beings may disagree on politics, sports, and whether pineapple belongs on pizza, but Great Maple serving great food feels like one of the easier things to agree on.

The entire place had full of life and is very clean. Our server today is Matt and he did an amazing job taking care of us. Very respectful and mindful and was happy to serve us which is a huge plus for me as customer service is also a defining factor for dining in my book. My family and I ordered a variety of dishes however I will be writing based on what I ordered personally / shared with and have eaten. Brew Bears - Cinnamon Toast (4/5): Our server Matt recommended this to me so I decided to order it to try it out. The drink comes in a small bear shape cup and had a soft and fluffy maple syrup + cinnamon foam. The drink is good and not too sweet which is a plus. Only downside is that the drink is fairly small and for $10, I would at least expect it to be in a larger size. Famous Maple Bacon Donuts (5/5): These were delicious! Very soft and fluffy; the maple glaze is sweet and gooey, and the bacon has a nice smoke to it which complimented the sweet maple notes. The donuts were clearly freshly made which we really appreciate. Be careful though as my family and I ordered 3 orders (3 pcs / order) and didn't realize how big each donut is! It is very filling and might make you too full for the other dishes if you normally don't eat a lot. Mac and Cheese (3.5/5): I ordered this alongside both the chili bacon bits and shrimp add-ons. The Mac and cheese came with spiral shaped pasta with a panko crust and white cheese. The overall taste to me is decent; nothing that really stood out to me but it was still good. The amount of shrimp provided vs the cost for the add-on (+$7) wasn't worth it for the small pieces and overall portion. I did also get some fettuccini pasta noodles towards the bottom of the dish which threw me off. Not sure if that's intended or by accident. Parmesan Truffle Fries (5/5): The fries we ordered came in hot and fresh with a side of ketchup. There was ALOT of flavor and you can really taste the truffle. The texture for the fries was nice and crispy to perfection. Overall, we did have a great experience and I do see myself coming back some time in the future. I would probably change up a few orders to try different things out.
