    Spicy Yellowfin Tuna Tartare

Ample parking, a little shopping on your way up to lunch, friendly welcome, and pretty good service. We went for lunch with friends. Our meals were good but not the best I have ever had. I have to say that the star of the meal was the popover and appetizers. They were delicious! We ordered truffle fries & spicy yellowfin tuna tartare - not that spicy but good flavor. My salad was nice but nothing to write home about. I only ate about half. Our server was a perfect mix of "I am here if you need anything" to "I am going to keep my distance so you can chat with your friends". So nice with a group but there if we needed anything. I do love the space. It is bright with large windows. A nice place to have lunch:)

Again, I usually visit Mariposa once or twice a year. I used to live in the area so it was a little bit more convenient. Today I opted to have lunch and made a reservation on OpenTable, which was easy. I was warmly greeted when I arrived in, escorted to a lovely table closer to the windows. My server approached immediately with water and menus, as well as the complementary broth and Yorkshire pudding with strawberry butter. I took a few minutes to glance over the menu and opted to go with the citrus shrimp salad. This is definitely a great portion for an entrée salad, but can be easily shared and paired with something else on the menu. The shrimp where well seasoned and grilled. All of the ingredients in the salad, including them mixed lettuce, corn, red, onion, etc., were carefully tossed in the citrus vinaigrette. It had a really light fresh flavor overall. I would eat the salad year-round if I could. The Yorkshire pudding was served warm. It was light and fluffy. I opted to finish the meal with the upside down. Pineapple cake served in a wedge shape. It was sweet and delicious. The hot coffee is simple book perfection. Service was attentive and friendly. there was light conversation. A beautiful dining room. Prices are expected for "Neiman Marcus" so while this sometimes becomes a destination or celebration lunch destination you should definitely visit if you haven't. Plenty of parking out front in the mall and parking structure. They are located on the third floor. Dress code seems simple and mellow. Most guests are wearing SoCal casual. There are those that dress a little nicer and of course there's a lot of corporation/businesses in the area so you'll see some business attire as well. Don't forget to try the famous chocolate chip cookie at the front door. All in with tip was $71 for one person this included an iced tea, the shrimp, salad, coffee, dessert,

I love coming here for weekend lunch. I usually find it easy to get a reservation the day of. You get served complimentary tiny cup of consommé and a popover served with strawberry butter. I always ask for a tiny pot of consommé. I switch up between sashimi of yellow fin tuna and spicy ahi tuna tartar. Even though they are listed under starters, the portions are big enough for a person. I get full off of either dish. Occasionally I switch up and try something different from the seasonal menu if I come across something appealing.

You are paying for a nice ambiance, the cache of dining on the top floor of a legacy dept. store, and consistently presented food with the famous popovers. But if you're not wanting to be part of the ladies who lunch ....for 2+ hours.... Then this place may not be for you. After we got our waters filled, it was approximately 30 minutes before our order was taken, and we sat by the server computer, so she saw us plenty of times with our menus to the side. My table mates all got some sort of salmon- the green goddess salad with salmon add-on, salmon tacos, and another something green with salmon. Maybe if we had ordered a cocktail with our lunch, we would've been more jovial rather than annoyed. My tacos had nice flavor and presented well on the taco rack. But we ran out of conversation after 2 hours and it just became tedious to ask for the check to pay. Plus two of my friends had to figure out how to tell their bosses why they're so late returning from lunch!

One of my mom's favorites. Unfortunately we were unable to make reservation for 5 and when we got there the only available tables were outside on the balcony. Let me tell you how undesirable that was. For starters the seats were old and dirty looking, if you're dressed nice, you def want to avoid sitting outside. They have these tube flame lamps but it did not keep us warm (well 1/2 of the table was warm and the other 1/2 facing the wind was freezing). The chill outside made your food cold so fast that you won't be able to enjoy any of your hot foods. On to the food. I got the $20 burger and the patty was burnt and had a bitter taste to it. My mom loved her roasted pear salad and California club. We also ordered the roasted pear salad with salmon and that was delicious and surprisingly moist and tuna salad sandwich was ok. We made a mistake of ordering the truffle fries as a couple of our orders came w fries and if your sitting outside, cold fries are no bueno. Not sure what the rave was about the puffs and chicken broth that's included w the meals but we thought they were ok. The strawberry butter was not as good as I had envisioned. Overall: Maybe seated outside completely ruined my experience and my burnt patty. When I eat at bougie place I have such a high expectation. I'm pretty sure I'll be back again with my mom one of these days. I'll make sure we sit inside and maybe order different entrees and give it another go. The services were incredibly friendly and delightful.

amazing service as always! ordered some new dishes and tried the spinach artichoke dip & spaghetti! They are easily our new favorites now! The chips that come with the spinach artichoke dip are a bit softer. I do wish they provided more chips with this dish. - spinach artichoke dip with warm tortilla chips  - NM burger - pecan crusted salmon - spaghetti (on their specials menu)

Had a birthday celebration with my gf today in Fashion Island at Mariposa hidden on the 3rd floor of Neiman Marcus. A great little rendezvous to enjoy lunch and relax. Food was delicious and our server was delightful. I love the way they serve a tiny pot of clear chicken broth with tiny cups and popovers with strawberry cream cheese before you order. A relaxing atmosphere to enjoy lunch and feel relaxed.

Excellent food loved the chop salad ! The puff pastry that came before meal melted in our mouths! Rigoberto was our server and was very polite and helpful. Everything was great! Ambiance was fancy and what you'd expect for Neiman Marcus at Fashion Island. We'd definitely come back!

Excellent Benjamin was our server and he was amazing!!!! Our food was delicious and our server was amazing. There was a hair in my food so had to leave 1/2, but our pup will eat it. I would come back again because our server and ambiance was excellent.. Coffee: amazing too.

We came here as a group of 8. It took a while to get seated, as there was a long line of people waiting at the hostess' podium. A couple tried to cut in front of us which the hostess did not allow, and I was grateful for that. We chose the restaurant at the recommendation of our family friends, and it was a little difficult to find since it's located inside of Neiman Marcus. We did find it, but the signage for the restaurant seemed pretty limited/lacking and we needed to ask staff for directions. The restaurant has big windows and lots of natural light, which is beautiful. The carpet is a bright blue which looks nice in the light. We were served a puffed pastry of sorts which I didn't take a picture of because I was so excited to eat it. It came with a berry butter which was super delicious and unique. The pastries were also warm so the butter melted nicely on them. I had the citrus salad which was very good and I added salmon. I wanted something light and this salad was exactly what I was looking for. My boyfriend had the grain bowl and said the miso sauce was delicious. We also had some drinks, including an espresso martini, which was perfectly sweet. Our waiter was so nice and attentive. It is on the pricier side, but it was a nice treat so I think it's worth it. We would definitely return!

I used to love this place however the service and the food have gone downhill! The only two constants a the the popovers and their hamburger. The consomé tasted like old dirty water. My tuna salad sandwich was totally bland! It looked good but zero flavor! The service was slow and inattentive... and the one thing I hate most about a restaurant is that they left the dirty tables sit after people left! Don't come close to closing time... maybe that is the reason of the bad service

Mariposa is a wonderful restaurant at the top of Neiman Marcus. It gets pretty packed so a reservation is recommended but not required. You start every meal with a small glass of complementary chicken broth and popover pastry with strawberry butter. It is one of the most incredible starts to a meal and hints at the quality to come. The dishes are delicious and healthy, with the salmon tacos, the tuna tartar, pasta puttanesca, and the seafood tower being clear standouts.

It wasn't overly sweet like a lot of brunch spots tend to do. The balance was just right, letting the flavors shine without feeling like dessert for breakfast. The blueberries, maple syrup, and cream brought everything together perfectly. The spicy shrimp pasta was equally impressive. It had a great kick to it, but the spice didn't overpower the dish. You could still taste all the flavors of the pasta, shrimp, and sauce. That's a rare thing because too many places mistake heat for flavor. Great Maple got it right. The restaurant was very busy, which is usually a good sign, but despite the crowd, the service never slipped. Our servers were attentive, friendly, and kept everything moving smoothly. If I had one minor complaint, it's that the popularity means you should expect a wait during peak hours. But after eating here, it's easy to understand why it's packed. Excellent food, attentive service, and a brunch experience that's worth coming back for. Human beings may disagree on politics, sports, and whether pineapple belongs on pizza, but Great Maple serving great food feels like one of the easier things to agree on.

We were seated around…read more12:05~ which is perfectly fine as they needed a bit of additional time to set up our tables. The ambiance and design of this restaurant feels very home-y and welcoming. The entire place had full of life and is very clean. Our server today is Matt and he did an amazing job taking care of us. Very respectful and mindful and was happy to serve us which is a huge plus for me as customer service is also a defining factor for dining in my book. My family and I ordered a variety of dishes however I will be writing based on what I ordered personally / shared with and have eaten. Brew Bears - Cinnamon Toast (4/5): Our server Matt recommended this to me so I decided to order it to try it out. The drink comes in a small bear shape cup and had a soft and fluffy maple syrup + cinnamon foam. The drink is good and not too sweet which is a plus. Only downside is that the drink is fairly small and for $10, I would at least expect it to be in a larger size. Famous Maple Bacon Donuts (5/5): These were delicious! Very soft and fluffy; the maple glaze is sweet and gooey, and the bacon has a nice smoke to it which complimented the sweet maple notes. The donuts were clearly freshly made which we really appreciate. Be careful though as my family and I ordered 3 orders (3 pcs / order) and didn't realize how big each donut is! It is very filling and might make you too full for the other dishes if you normally don't eat a lot. Mac and Cheese (3.5/5): I ordered this alongside both the chili bacon bits and shrimp add-ons. The Mac and cheese came with spiral shaped pasta with a panko crust and white cheese. The overall taste to me is decent; nothing that really stood out to me but it was still good. The amount of shrimp provided vs the cost for the add-on (+$7) wasn't worth it for the small pieces and overall portion. I did also get some fettuccini pasta noodles towards the bottom of the dish which threw me off. Not sure if that's intended or by accident. Parmesan Truffle Fries (5/5): The fries we ordered came in hot and fresh with a side of ketchup. There was ALOT of flavor and you can really taste the truffle. The texture for the fries was nice and crispy to perfection. Overall, we did have a great experience and I do see myself coming back some time in the future. I would probably change up a few orders to try different things out.

The staff who assisted with seating and bringing silverware were also friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, our dining experience declined once our order was taken. We ordered the Beets Salad as our starter, followed by the Chicken Piccata and Salmon as our entrées. The salad arrived within about five minutes, but we then waited nearly 40 minutes for our main courses without any acknowledgment or update. When I asked our waitress about the delay, her only response was, "Your order was fired 15 minutes ago." When I asked why it had taken so long, she simply repeated the same statement. At no point did she offer a sincere apology or show any empathy for the extended wait. As someone who has owned and managed businesses, I know that delays can happen. However, a simple apology and proactive communication can make all the difference in how guests perceive the experience. The food itself was excellent, and both entrées were well prepared. Unfortunately, the service continued to disappoint. After we finished our meals, our waitress immediately cleared our plates and brought the check without asking whether we would like dessert, coffee, or anything else to finish our evening. That was surprising and made us feel rushed. I rarely leave negative reviews because I understand that every business can have an off night. In this case, however, the issue was not the kitchen delay--it was the lack of communication, empathy, and basic hospitality. Had our waitress simply apologized, kept us informed, or involved a manager, this review likely would not have been necessary. I hope management views this as constructive feedback. Andrea and several other staff members represented the restaurant exceptionally well, but I believe additional customer service training would help ensure that situations like this are handled with greater professionalism and care in the future.

I respectfully told her I was disappointed because I didn't feel attended to. I have worked in the restaurant industry myself, and my brother has been a General Manager for The Cheesecake Factory, so I understand how demanding restaurant service can be. This did not seem like a situation where the restaurant was overwhelmed, as it was not particularly busy during my visit. I want to be clear that my intention is not to get anyone in trouble. In fact, I still left Candy a good tip because I know firsthand how challenging serving can be. My hope is simply that Gulfstream reminds its staff to give the same level of attention to every guest, including those seated in the outdoor lounge area. Every customer should feel equally valued, regardless of where they are seated.

I had the breakfast burrito and my wife had the omelette. Both good. Portions were large though so we just enjoyed the ambiance while ignoring the awkwardness of our neighboring tables. Cocktails were good. I saw a guy rocking out to the music on his 4th espresso martini so I ordered one of those. It'll give you both an alcohol and caffeine buzz. Can't imagine drinking 4! My wife's fruity cocktail was also good. We both enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back. Just wish I could have scored a water view table!

Such a cute little snack bar right by the beach! The food was absolutely perfect after a long day…read moreof running, swimming, and playing in the sand. The portions were so generous that one meal easily fed two people, which was a pleasant surprise after working up an appetite all day. The staff was kind, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. If you stop by, be sure to leave a tip--supporting hardworking staff and helping them pursue further college education is always worth it because education opens so many doors. Nice to be able to have a place at the beach as a one stop shop when in the area. We had visited…read morethe Sherman gardens nearby and I yelped a place for lunch and by happenstance saw lobster rolls are a fan favorite here which my man absolutely loves, as he is from Maine. Parking was actually a breeze for us in the neighborhood nearby and we walked right down to the place where there were tables and the line wasn't long. Should've gone with the lobster roll but I opted for my usual clam chowder which came out smaller than I thought. When the order came out we also saw they didn't include the seasoned fries I ordered, which is fine because it wasn't on the receipt either. I told my man we don't need to order anymore because we had plenty. Just make sure when ordering you have them read it back not to miss anything. The clam chowder was good, could've had more clam but came out piping hot, which I know is an issue sometimes at places like this. My son got the tuna melt and couldn't finish his potato chips. Wish they had coke on the menu instead of Pepsi, that's my only qualm but other than that next time I'd definitely order the lobster roll.
