I was in Downtown Santa Monica running errands and parked almost directly in front of sweetgreen. One thing to know -- parking there is limited to 15 minutes, so if you plan to eat inside, keep that in mind. This location feels like a pretty standard sweetgreen. Clean, organized, friendly staff, nothing really unusual. It was pretty busy during lunch time, but surprisingly the crowd disappeared pretty fast while I was eating. I got the Crispy Rice Bowl and a Ginger Green drink (pictured). Everything tasted exactly how sweetgreen usually tastes, which honestly is a good thing. Hard to ruin it when they stick to the same system and ingredients. If I had to nitpick, I'd say I've seen slightly cleaner sweetgreen locations. But during a busy lunch rush, I understand the priority is probably keeping the line moving instead of constantly cleaning every table immediately. Overall, solid place for a quick lunch. Good vegan options, fresh ingredients, and definitely feels healthier than most fast casual spots nearby. read more

I love their fresh ingredients and this location is not far from me. The salads are on the pricey side but usually, the quality is fresh, tasty and satisfying. When I was walking by the other day and saw this ad it caught my eye as I thought I would be seeing the same sized meat pictured my salad. Not even close! The steak was tiny cubes = 1 tablespoon worth! I think I paid an additional 6.00 for an extra tablespoon of small steak bits because I couldn't believe the incongruity BTW what is advertised outside vs. what they actually serve you. As I was paying I turned and saw the sweetgreen employee practically running my bowl through the blender. I love this location however I can't stand the parking sigh. Usually when I order from this location, it's via the app so it's ready to go when I arrive. But parking sometimes make it not the easiest grab and go situation. Besides that all staff here have been extremely helpful and accommodating. I go to this Sweetgreens quite often and when I tell you, they're amazing, that's not even the half of it. This is a very popular and busy location so I recommend putting your order in on the app or simply not arriving during peak hours like lunch time on a week day. I always get the harvest bowl without cheese. They recently added Brussels spouts. This may be a seasonal item so get it while you can. It's a little extra to add it to a bowl. The cost of my bowl with tax is $15.38. The bowls are plentiful so more than enough for one sitting. My favorite item to double up is the sweet potatoes and the apples. There is something about this combination that just makes the bowl perfect. I Also love that you can substitute easily and customize your bowl to your choice which makes any salad perfect. read more

I was in love with the one and only: CASHEW PESTO SWEET POTATOES!!! This side is always on the tip of my tongue, hands down. Something I'm always craving when I'm hungry. It is mainly hot roasted sweet potatoes served with a spicy plant-based cashew pesto. The Cashew Pesto is a leafy colored pesto; I almost want to beg for the recipe. It is delicious and I enjoy it. I really enjoyed my leafy green, harvest bowl that mostly consisted of harsh kale, (I won't get kale next time, but baby spinach) eggplant, dates, raisins, chipotle sauce and chips. The dine in area was too cute to ever compare! I really enjoyed all the indoor house plants and wooden benches. Got the "crispy" rice bowl and boooyyyy was it "crispy" and by crispy I mean the toppings were as hard as plastic bits. I don't know what they put on top of the salad and rice but I'm lucky I did not break a tooth. It was completely inedible. I don't know if they just did not cook the rice properly as if it was fresh out of the bag (uncooked) or if it was bits of something like plastic shards that ended up in my bowl. Inedible. I generally unimpressed with this location. They get a lot of foot traffic, and as a result, they're often out of things and more than once have forgotten items in salads. I usually order ahead and maybe that's my mistake. I've waited way past the promised time. Also, they omitted an entire protein once. So yeah, I paid for salmon and only got greens. That left an extremely bad taste in my mouth and customer service never responded. So I'm cool on them for the moment and I'm not sure when I'll return, despite it being close to work. I've had some acceptable lunch meals from them but they've disappointed me too many times. read more

I love sweet green. Each time I go to any of their locations, I thoroughly enjoy my meal. Whatever the seasonal selections are always hit the spot man. Their drinks are good too. The only thing keeping this spot from 5 stars is I felt uncomfortable upon entering, the line is weird where it starts and none of the employees were really guiding any of us on where the hell to go so we all just kind of stood there for a good few minutes with no guidance or greeting. The ube latte was mostly milk with a sprinkle of ube, the blueberry cloud was not as flavorful as it looks and the food lacks flavor and it only physically looks impressive. The millionaires bacon was ok. The inside of the establishment looks good but everything is surface level. one of my guests what treated inappropriately I forget I am but I have to leave. I also had lipstick on my cup when I received it which I understand can happen but please check your cups before serving and sloshing them. The Pan has much better service and food. It has roasted chicken, Momofuku Tingly Japanese sweet potatoes, shredded cabbage, tomatoes, marinated kelp, cilantro, parm crisp furikake, organic wild rice, shredded kale, lime squeeze, lime cashew dressing. I always ask for the dressing to be on the side and barely use a third of it and it always tastes perfect to me. So many flavors and textures I just can't even begin to describe how tasty it is. They included a lime but if you've had the actual half lime squeeze/toss you'll know what I'm missing. Customer service was extremely lacking today with no welcome as I walked in and a hefty wait even tho I had put the order in 30 minutes prior. When my order was ready the 'salad maker' just pointed at it..and walked away. With competition just opening up across the street (Mixt). Santa Monica is made for sweetgreen and sweetgreen is made for Santa Monica. I've been to this location twice now and they definitely hold it down during the lunch rush. It does get pretty busy but the team gets you through quickly and efficiently--there's also a good amount of seating if you want to take full advantage of your time out of the office. I usually build my own salad which can get pricey fast, but the employees are generally pretty good about letting you know which items are included and which cost extra. This location is right in the thick of things in downtown Santa Monica, so parking is pretty terrible. There's a lot across the street with 90 minutes free, but if you're going out of your way for sweetgreen, I'd probably go to the Marina del Rey location which has tons of easy parking. read more
