Order ahead of time or you may have to wait about 15 minutes for your meal. The service is great, and the food is good. I have eaten at Tender Greens at least 15 times over the course of six months and each meal has been consistently good. So it is great knowing that I can depend on Tender Greens for a good lunch. We really enjoyed our visit to Tender Greens in Santa Monica. The café has a spacious dining area, which is actually quite rare for Santa Monica, with plenty of seating inside, plus a nice outdoor patio. The food was tasty and well prepared. The only small note -- the chicken was a bit spicy. We didn't ask about the spice level, and unfortunately the cashier didn't warn us, but overall the quality of the food was still very good. The service was friendly and efficient. Our order was ready in about 15 minutes, even though the café was moderately busy at the time. Prices are reasonable -- you can easily stay under $20 per person. Another big plus is the nearby multi-level parking, which is definitely important in Santa Monica and makes visiting much more convenient. Overall, I would recommend this place and would happily come back again. read more

Staff is helpful and always willing to give me the run down on add-ons, sauces, or new menu items. The lunch rush gets hectic with the volume of catering/to-go orders they're juggling, but the trade off for a busy kitchen is that you're always getting fresh products. Awful experience. This place used to be awesome, but the quality has gone way downhill. The portions were small, and the food tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. The service was also terrible. We ordered and then tried to change one of the sides, and the server acted like it was a huge problem because he had already put the order in. We also asked for sodas, which he forgot, then he tried to charge us again even though they were already on the receipt. The food itself was disappointing. The mac and cheese was old and crusty, the chicken came out in these super tiny, dry crusty chunks, and the potatoes -- which used to be so good -- were basically inedible. I ordered BBQ chicken, and it came out with no BBQ sauce. When I asked for some, you would have thought I asked for the most difficult thing ever. On top of that, when they brought out the food, they just dropped it off and didn't even give us utensils. I had to go back up two different times just to get forks, knives, and napkins. And mind you, we tipped on the bill, which made the whole experience even more frustrating. There are so many better options in this area. I highly recommend avoiding this place. It was honestly shocking how bad it was. RUN. If I could give less than one star, I would. read more

Tender Greens is one of our go-to lunch spots, my colleague and I have it on weekly rotation because it's just that good. Their plates and bowls are consistently amazing. We've tried the mac and cheese, chipotle BBQ chicken bowl, buttermilk fried chicken plate, steak plate, salt and pepper chicken, carrot cake and the apple crumble dessert, everything has been delicious and super satisfying. I did try the pesto pasta once and felt like it needed more pesto, and I wasn't a fan of the potatoes in it either. But aside from that, the food here never disappoints. 30 minutes before they closed, I came to tender greens for a healthy, tasty dinner. I was greeted very warmly. I ordered at the counter and took my seat. The dining room is spacious, clean and modern. This location is a block away from Ocean Boulevard in Santa Monica. I ordered the seared tuna, romaine hearts, and roasted potatoes. They were delivered pretty quickly, and everything was delicious and the portions were generous, especially the potatoes. The croutons in their salad are insane. Dinner also came with a hunk of toast made of that same heaven-sent bread, which I took home. My server was super nice and brought my dessert out a few minutes later. The apple crumble is served with a nice big dollop of cream, which gives you that warm toasty feeling without consuming a whole serving of ice cream on your apple crumble. The apple crumble apple slices were nicely covered with cinnamon and not too sweet. I really enjoy eating on real plates with real silverware. That was fun. I took my leftovers home in a compostable container. I had the hibiscus tea, which was absolutely delicious. Everyone here was kind and helpful, and I would absolutely come back. read more

Tender Greens is one of my favorite meals. I could eat here everyday. My go to is the chipotle chicken salad. It is amazeballs! But everything is pretty delicious too. My favorite store by far is the Santa Monica location. This location is on point every time, it always has been and continues to be the best location. It is consistent. All locations should be trained the same as this store. Consistency is key. The other stores are not consistent with the menu items and it makes the experience at any other TG unsatisfactory. read more

I ordered the seabass with mashed potatoes, and we also had the baked chicken. I had not been to Tender Greens in a while and I am glad to see that this is still a great place for lunch. The food is always fresh and they have the best healthy options. I also love that they offer a daily Aqua Fresca that is usually a nice mix of fruit and herbs. The highlight of our lunch was Eric who took our order. Their food is fantastic and their pricing very reasonable. My only issue is that they serve their bread in way that tastes like plastic. It seems as if everything is fresh except the bread. It's so bad it's laughable. I had intended to go to the California Chicken Café but of course they still don't have a place to sit down post pandemic so I ended up at Tender Greens on 2nd in Santa Monica. The tomato soup is literally a heartburn on a plate. Steak salad is awful, but what's worse is the decor. The dirty, dingy gray cabinets that hold the water machine only filthy germs.. The old 1990's office furniture in the dining room. It looks like it has dog bites right off the fake leather it's so worn. The bathrooms locked down like Fort Knox with 10 did-get codes and the service is hashtag deplorable! With so many great places gone why is this still standing? ! read more

I love this place every time I come. Everything is seasoned wonderfully and the flavors are always balanced. All of their proteins and side options are awesome! This is my favorite place in Santa Monica. When I come weekdays midday, they are never too busy at all and the food comes out fairly quickly.
