I've been staying here downtown for 4 days now, 3 more to go! And this has been my favorite eats so far. I've tried 2 places per day and this holds first place easily. The staff is really welcoming and the cashier told me that I get a free lemonade of choice! Say what?!? Nothing is ever free anymore. Not here! I paid $50 for 2 meals, both super filling! Half was leftovers which I'm bout to eat! The sirloin kabobs and the filet kabobs were outstanding! We had the sweet potato fries, hummus and tziki for our sides, very delicious! A new Mediterranean place on Broadway in Santa Monica. Say less! I was excited to try a new restaurant, especially a Mediterranean spot, as I'm always in the mood for chicken kabob. I asked a staff member for recommendations, and he was extremely helpful. He suggested the #1 Chicken Kebob (White Meat) for $22, which comes with one side. I asked about the popular options, and he recommended the lentil soup and a salad. I then asked which he'd pick, and he said the lentil soup. It was the first dish to come out, and while it was pretty satisfying, the lentils were a bit mushy. However, there was a strong ginger flavor that I really enjoyed. It was the perfect soup for a chilly day. As far as the Chicken Kebob goes, I thought it was juicy and cooked to perfection. It was nice and moist. The chicken was prepared well. The rice was an okay mix of white and yellow. I paid an extra $0.75 for the Rose Sauce, which tasted like a spicy mayo with a decent kick, but I felt it was out of place in a Mediterranean restaurant. I would expect spicy mayo at a sushi or hibachi place, but don't find it authentic here. The garlic sauce had a very light garlic flavor, and was nothing special. I did like the lemon slice on the side, which was perfect for the chicken. I ate most of the garlic sauce, but left the spicy mayo, as I didn't think it complemented the food. The chicken didn't need anything besides the natural flavor and lemon juice. The pita was just okay. As part of a promotion, they were offering free drinks, and I chose a complimentary drink. I asked the staff for their favorite, and they recommended the Black Tea Palmer, which is an Arnold Palmer with black tea. It was good, and I would order it again. I would rate the food a 3.5, but I'll round up due to the service. The portions were decent, but it was a bit pricey, even for Santa Monica. I wouldn't make a special trip here, but it could work in a pinch. I'll probably stick to Westwood for my Mediterranean meals. read more

Is this place authentic? No, a very Socal fusion menu: they serve pita (arab) and lavash (persian) but also toum (arab)and a mysterious aoli-esque rose sauce, and have items like a bbq chicken wrap and an asian chicken salad. Is this place really good? Absolutely! I actually like it a lot more than Crimson. Everything Ive ordered from them so far has been fresh and delicious. I would skip any side sauces (they're not great) and eat the kabobs w lemon (which they provide) and sumac (which I happened to have). I like that you can ask for the kabobs to be juicy or well done too. The seasoning & char on the chicken is sumptuous. I also like that its halal. I definitely plan on being a regular! read more

We drove a little over an hour to get there on the 405! We had a wonderful lunch with another couple. It was well worth it and we will return. Mysa was clean, bright and the staff were very efficient and helpful. Casual. The food! OMG! Fresh, flavorful, colorful, and plentiful. One person had a wrap, she loved it. Hubby had the chicken shawarma plate. He loved it as well so of course I had to sample his chicken. Moist, tender and flavorful. Our friend ordered a pita and he love it as well. I had the fillet mignon plate with 2 sides. The beef was tender and YUMMY. I have never had hummus this fresh before. Freshness really makes a difference. Went in here with a group of 5 at 8pm on a Saturday. The place was completely empty and very bright. The place just seemed very disorganized. It's an order at the counter place. Guy taking orders told us there was no falafel, which was fine, but there was no other vegetarian alternative option really than putting together a bunch of sides. He had a very hard time understanding that my friend and I were just ordering sides as our dinner. We got the order in with some effort and I tried to order a filet mignon plate for my boyfriend but I saw he wrung it up as chicken. Ok no problem, corrected it, then I asked for two pellegrinos. He rings up one. Total at this point is $50 for my boyfriend and I. We sit down with our group. They bring out the sides in ~15 min and then we wait an additional 30-40 min for the rest of the food. Again we're the only people in there. Also it's 8:45 by the time we get our food, they're clearly cleaning up and closing down. We had 15 minutes to eat and get out. The food was ok, not amazing. My vegetarian friend and I who just got sides were still very hungry by the time we left. Could be a decent neighborhood standard place but the experience was so bad I won't be back. read more

Decided to give them another try after new name (ownership?). They still can't do a decent falafel. Oil must not be hot enough. Exterior not crispy, interior not hot so it's just an oil soaked mess. Same as before the name change. Can't speak to other menu items but this is not where you want to come for falafel. I won't be back for a third try. read more

Mysa has consistently provided the most delicious, healthy mediterranean food. The chicken and the salmon are so deliciously flavorful and every time I come in and either get it to go or eat in the restaurant, I always feel so healthy and nourished after my meal. There is a wonderful female staff member who always makes sure I feel truly taken care of. She's incredibly detail-oriented and consistently creates such a welcoming environment. I've noticed that the name for this establishment recently changed, but the quality has not. read more
