We had a really frustrating experience at this CAVA location. We placed a large pickup order through the app scheduled for 4:00 PM and arrived about 10 minutes early, expecting it to be ready around the pickup time. When we got there, there was only one employee behind the counter and another person prepping protein in the back. By the time 4:00 PM came around, our order hadn't even been started, and no additional staff had come out yet. Eventually two more employees appeared, but they seemed very unsure of what they were doing and things moved extremely slowly. Meanwhile, they prioritized the in-store line and other app orders, while ours continued to sit untouched. We had to flag staff down twice and literally stand near the counter just to get our order moving. The woman assembling the food was rude and visibly frustrated, carelessly placing bowls down and even speaking rudely to her coworkers. The only bright spot was a nice girl at the counter wearing a wrist brace. She was kind and clearly trying her best, but she looked new and was struggling to keep up while prepping orders with essentially one usable arm. What makes this worse is that this is the second time we've had this exact experience at this location. The first time we thought it might just be a fluke, but after this visit it's clear there are serious staffing and management issues here. To make matters worse, you can't cancel the order in the app, so we were stuck waiting. In total we waited over 40 minutes, and when we finally got our food some of the bowls were missing items. We love CAVA, but this location has been consistently disappointing. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back to this one. read more

Usually I love CAVA but we came at 6pm on the weekend and there was a not too long line that didn't move because they were out of ingredients (rice and chicken) and waiting for more to be made. It seemed like chaos in the kitchen as they were filling online orders and in person orders. There was a lot of food spilled, some slow workers, and wasted food from what I observed. I ordered a chicken rice bowl with various toppings, and it was a huge disappointment. The avocado looked fine (not dark), but it was clearly spoiled and tasted awful. The chicken was incredibly dry. To make matters worse, I found a piece of plastic packaging mixed into my food--completely unacceptable. I honestly don't understand how this location has a 4-star rating. It doesn't deserve more than 2 stars. I definitely do not recommend eating here. read more

Yesterday, I went to Santa Monica with my family and had lunch at Cava. It was my first time going to Cava, and my brother told me there is also a location in Burbank. Cava seems similar to Chipotle, but the ingredients were very fresh and the staff were extremely friendly. Adding sour cream to the ingredients I chose made it really delicious The cauliflower was also very tasty, (I'm not a big fan of cauliflower. But, it was tasty) and everything felt fresh and healthy, like I was doing something good for my body. All of the staff were very kind, which made the experience even better. read more

So I stumbled onto this place by pure coincidence. My buddy and I were visiting the Laemmle fear when we decide to grab some food close by. We decided to give this place a chance and we were wildly impressed.. The best way to describe this place is imagine a chipotle that serves Mediterranean food. There are some prefix bowls/items, but you can customize it a la chipotle or assembly line style. The food was seriously phenomenal and the pita was from out of this world. I can't remember exactly what I got, but it was so good. I didn't have time to actually take a picture of it. Cava is a really cool Mediterranean chain restaurant and the do a chiplote style serving with Mediterranean food. The service was good the only thing that bugged me was my bowl spilt when they were making and they didn't go back and add more food to it. The guy who does the first initial toppings, "rice/greens" is very rude and has a nasty attitude for no reason. The first impression of him really makes it seem like he hates his job and he can't be bothered enough to give a f! He should not be the first one to talk to customers. Please have someone more personable who greets people and speaks louder. He speaks in a very quiet tone and with a level of annoyance. I didn't even get a smile or a hello just straight attitude. I kept watching him to see if he was doing it to the other customers, he was. Mind you, he is the first person customers see and speak to!! If you don't like people, find another job, do not work in customer service/ food industry, or just go work in the kitchen instead!! All you do is get a bowl, put lettuce and rice in it. i am a cava fan and i was craving it when i went to visit my friend in santa monica. i usually get the harrissa avocado bowl and the food was fair. the service was not the best. they didn't add certain toppings that came with the harissa avocado bowl and didn't tell me they were out, instead they just made the bowl without telling me. i asked them about it and they looked at me and said "we don't have anymore". after i paid i realized i didn't get a certain topping and they didn't tell me they were out of it so when i went back to the counter and tried to ask, one of the workers completely ignored me and walked away and a different worker looked at me and said, "what's up, what do you need". i asked about the topping and she said "we're out" but she looked down and saw that they had restocked it and just put it into a separate cup and gave it to me. i realized all of the toppings that they said they were "out" of when they were making my bowl-- they restocked as soon as i paid. i always try to give the benefit of the doubt and say that they had a bad day but we were the only people in there on a monday. i wish i had a better experience. The the food here's pretty good for the price. And it's convenient for me. I go probably average 3-5 times a week. This place can use a handicap cap button. Usually there's always a customer going in or out, or someone eating sees me and opens the door, BUT TODAY I WAS IN FRONT OF THE DOORS FOR 3-5 mins without any employees noticing and WHILE 2 people with cava shirts outside. Even noticing me a couple times doing nothing. Then I finally decided to call to try to get someone to open the door and a customer not the two maybe trainees heard my call and help me open the door. Hello FLAVOR!!! My first time at Cava was a great time. It's basically like Chipotle but Mediterranean. You can build your own bowl or pita wrap, and they also have pre designed options. Because it was my first time I decided to go with one of the chef curated bowls, the Lentil Avocado. Everything tasted so fresh and super flavorful. Also got a fountain drink- mixed some of their specialty teas together. Very refreshing and tasty! Service was great and quick. Restaurant was clean, welcoming, and chill.
