Even though I love sweetgreen, I was disappointed with this location. I ordered tofu in my salad and it was not equal quality. Some pieces were roasted, but others were raw dipped in pepper. The concept is great. The ingredients are spot on. It looks like the kitchen staff does a great job of making sure the greens and other fresh ingredients are washed and prepped for the folks assembling plates at the front of the house. And a lot of thought goes into menu. It's clear. Not sure if other locations are different, and maybe it was just a bad day, but the staff working the front are really in need of a ropes course or something. Its entropy up there. Poor and reactive communication to customers, utensil supplies not refreshed, food on the floor, and no one taking the lead. You can do better! read more

Don't get me wrong, I love Sweetgreen just as much as the next gal. If you had asked me when they first opened up in Dupont, I woulda probably given five stars (loved the Parisian salad)! But lately, I have just been getting a bit frustrated with them. Every time you go to order (and I have noticed this at several locations), you can barely get your order out before they have moved on to the next customer. It's very difficult to get a word in, make modifications or substitutions to your order, or ask any questions. I get that they do this to keep the line moving and for quicker service, but this happens even when you go and it's not busy. At a place that prides itself on using local and sustainable ingredients, you should be able to ask questions about what is going in your salad--or at least make sure that your order is right before it's already at the checkout. I think if Sweetgreen really wanted to stand out from the many salad places that have popped up, they could have service that is a bit more informed--or at least a bit more patient. Another notch down, the salads that they have listed on the board skimp a little bit on variety of ingredients. There should be more options with lots of varieties of veggies, cheese, etc... because otherwise it feels like paying for a bowl of lettuce with a few accoutrements. read more

Yayayayay! I am SO glad Sweetgreen came to P Street. I love that I can go and get a custom HUGE salad for $6. I dig that tart, live active culture - having yogurt that automatically comes with three toppings! (I highly suggest strawberries, granola, and honey). I love the eco-friendly style! I have been testing the limits of how much salad and frozen yogurt a human can eat recently, and Sweetgreen was on my hit list for a place to try next. Their yogurt is good - a little less creamy than some places, but tangy and fresh. But God bless the clerk that tappeth the cup of yogurt down to get rid of that horrible cave that develops inside. Craving a healthy lunch, I walked down P Street into Sweetgreen against prior warning of their overpriced salads. Mind you, I am new to DC, and I want that first hand experience that comes with food exploration. I am no novice to eating raw veggies. I once ate nothing but raw food for 30 days, for the mere challenge of it, and the not-afraid-to-be-an-inconvenienced-oddball determination it requires. I ordered a wrap with chicken, spinach, cranberries, beets and almonds with some sort of light curry dressing. Normally I like the taste of fresh, uncooked vegetables, but these spinach leaves had dirt and sand grains on them, and chewing on the raw beet cubes was as palatable as eating raw potatoes. The salad wrap itself was flavorless even with medium, and, later on, extra dressing added. I would be more satisfied had I purchased fresh spinach, rinsed it and eaten it with a couple slices of tomato, onion, and avocado. It just doesn't make sense to pay nine dollars for this. My favorite thing about Sweetgreen is the "salad of the month!" I probably eat lunch here about once a week; the staff at the Logan Circle location are very friendly and on their game. The salads are a perfect size and the piece of hearty bread is perfect for soaking up dressing! Their new juices are really good but are about $2 too much in my opinion. My friends tell me good things about the tart frozen yogurt, too. read more

After being overseas for two weeks (and not being able to eat a lot of fresh produce), I was dreaming of a salad on my long flight home. After catching up on sleep, I made my way to this Sweetgreen for probably the 20th time. I usually go with the District Cobb but switched it up for the delightful sounding seasonal - strawberries, feta, and my jetlagged brain doesn't remember the rest - and it was the perfect choice! We ate outside, enjoying the blue skies and cool evening, and before I knew it I had reached the bottom of my bowl. I would definitely go back! Never heard of it till today when friends came to town and had a tour of the capitol bldg. We wanted something that would be quick and after checking out Yelp, we decided this was perfect. Everything was so fresh! I have to say it put the salads from Panera to shame! The roasted broccoli was so good I ate it as a side and the candied pecans were amazing! So amazing I would go back for those alone! I also tried both the Cesar and champagne vinaigrette dressings and both were delicious. And had the apple, cranberry lemonade to drink. It was very refreshing! I will be back. "Ten bucks for a salad??" was my reaction when I first checked out this place. However, I have since caved in and drank the kool-aid. I think I am a total sucker for their Santorini salad with grilled shrimp and grapes. They have an interesting selection of salads, or you can make your own. I like the fact that they list out where their ingredients come from (mostly local/east coast concentrated). The place can get pretty packed especially during lunch hour (even after 1 PM). Overall, even though it's somewhat pricey for a salad, I wouldn't mind going to this place once or twice a week to fulfill my craving for the Santorini. read more

First time here and loved it. I ordered the chick p salad; the falafel was warm, plenty of garbonzo beans and fresh cucumbers. The salad was very filling. You can tell them when to stop dressing the salad which I appreciated. The salad comes with a slice of bread but I really didn't need it since the chick p has pita chips in it. Best of the best. Lived in DC for 3 years and I dream about Sweetgreen franchising nationally. My favorite is guacamole greens with chicken and I always request that spicy kale be included. this place uses very fresh ingredients. i have to admit when approaching the place i was much more tempted to go into the burger joint next door. will power baby. one salad a day for 3 months now! i got the derby cobb salad - very tasty. this place is a little more expensive than your Cosi. however, you get a lot more too, which is good because a salad doesn't usually fill me up for long. the bread that comes with adds the perfect amount of food to fill a stomach to make it through the rest of the day until dinner. oh and they use plenty of avocado - so you better like that. although i'm sure you can get it without. on that notion, they used plenty of everything, chicken, bacon, you know...they good stuff in salad! get here early as seating is limited. it looked like most people knew that though because they were mostly getting it to go. read more

Great place! Fresh organic veggies & salads that are made in front of you. My fav is the 'SABZI", I add shrimp to mine & it's divine! It is a little pricy but worth it. They also give you a cool menu that is made with special paper that's lined with wildflower seeds. You plant the menu and in a few weeks, voil`a flowers! read more

I just had Sweetgreen for the 1st time and it was yummy!! I love salads and am constantly on the hunt to find the best salad. I tried the Guacamole Greens salad (minus the guacamole) and it was fantastic! I also looked up the nutrition and it is a pretty healthy salad (calories, sugars, sodium), which is a double score!! The only other "fast food" place I had been going to was Chop't, but I've recently started not to like it. So, this is definitely going to be my new go-to salad shop :-) read more

what a great place for quick and delish healthy food, i just wish it wasnt so expensive (based on my student budget)! I love the monthly specials they have, the september salad is wonderful and the option to make any salad a wrap adds to the already endless options.... (the baked falafel and the spicy quinoa are my two favorite toppings not to mention the bread that comes with!) the frozen yogurt is AMAZING! i recommend mangos granola and coconut....also if they have the peach puree (not on the normal menu) GET IT! you wont regret it... the employees have always been super friendly and accommodating if you want to make substitutions and the outdoor seating is a great place to enjoy your salad! read more
