Four stars for the salads, 2.5 for the yogurt. The yogurt is fairly bland (though not terrible, in my opinion) and comes in only one flavor with a limited selection of toppings. I got the "Santorini" salad (spinach and mixed greens with roasted shrimp, feta, chickpeas, mint, grapes) and it was excellent. Nice hefty portion with yummy bread. I also tried their fro-yo, which was tasty but not amazing. Only one flavor of fro-yo (original tart) and it wasn't very sweet, which could either be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your taste. They had a small topping selection -- dried cranberries, candied walnuts, coconut, choc chips... They need to start offering mochi! read more

It's good, but there aren't too many toppings, and disclaimer is I hail from Ca (near Stanford univ to be more precise, but soCal's similar) where there are tons of high quality organic yogurt cafe shops. For east coast, this is a really good pick. I would like to try their salad sometime and update on that, too. This is a funky little place specializing in custom salads, with a green approach. So they post what items they have from local producers. They use compostable utensils, etc. The salad ingredients are high quality and lots of choices. You get a nice big salad for 7-8 bucks. I had a Cobb with spinach instead of romaine and it rocked. read more

I did it - I waited in line for 30 mins and paid $15 for a salad. I am officially a DC yuppie. For the longest time I did not understand how people can survive on salad for lunch. But now I get it. I am a convert to the salad for lunch crowd. The cobb salad at Sweet green is loaded with goodies including avocado, bacon, egg and cheese. The bondi beach salad has wasabi peas. They fill me up and I feel great all afternoon. I always get the light dressing because I feel its flavorful enough for me. Even though I generally never like bottled light dressings. I have also developed a taste for their froyo over time. The first time I had it I did not like it at all. It was a bit too "yogurty" tasting for me. But now, that's what I appreciate the most about their froyo. The other places seem to be selling manufactured, artificial stuff. I like to get the naked cone - its 2.75 dollars of happiness. My favorite salad shop! Refreshing, tasty, and healthy. It also uses much fresher tasting ingredients than those found in Chopt's salads.

So many delicious and healthy options to choose from. I could have easily spent all day sampling the various items on the menu. But alas I was in a rush and got my salad to go. I was so pleasantly surprised by the high quality fresh ingredients that were in my umami grain salad. I just went to the Sweet Flow Mobile and I love this yogurt. It's a shame that the driver was parked across from the Hershey's Ice Cream shop on 15th & K NW because he has too much competition there. Yogurt is definitely 4 stars. It would be 5, but I really can't believe they want $4 for a small. Outrageous. Salad I give 3 stars. I feel like this place is the Starbucks of salad places. You have to know the lingo (light, medium or heavy?), and if you don't they tend to get annoyed, which is pretty off-putting when it's your first time there. Salads are decent. I go here several times a week, usually on the way home from work after getting off the Metro half a block away. I love it. The lettuce is always super fresh, and they have quinoa, roasted tofu, baked falafel, and really good vegan balsamic vinaigrette dressing. I usually get romaine and field greens with red onions, quinoa, cranberries, tofu, sliced almonds, and balsamic vinaigrette. And you get bread free with your salad, and it's pretty good (they always ask if you want it, and even if you say no, they seem to put it in 50% of the time anyway). Just make sure you think through your ingredients and how they'll taste together before you order (duh) because I had some pretty gnarly mixes before settling on my regular. Only gripe is that it's not entirely inconsistent. Most notable is that the price varies even though I'm getting the same thing every time. Most of the time it's like $8.09, but sometimes it's $1 or $2 cheaper. Don't know what's going on there. read more

Sweetgreen is the same as the other salad places (Chop't, Freshii) but has organic for the most part. As such, they're more expensive. That said, I've never had better froyo in my life (and I've eaten a very large amount of froyo in my life). It's delicious and nutritious. Also, their drinks are delicious as well - today I had the cucumber limeade and I've had the lemonade before. The lost star is really just due to price. I can get a salad and drink for less than $14 elsewhere but seem unable to here. read more

After eating way too many Kripsy Kreme's lately I have been craving a salad. I work around the corner so decided to try this place out. There was a good amount of pre listed salads or you could make your own. For someone that had a hard time deciding this was very helpful. The staff was flexible if you wanted to change your greens etc. The line moved pretty quickly and just walking into the store you felt goofd surround by lots of green and white colors. I do wish there was a bit less lettuce and a bit more stuff but overall it was very tasty and I would try it again. read more

I have never been disappointed with a salad I have purchase at any sweetgreen location. The ingredients are fresh, they almost always fill me up, and the service is fast. My rating is more 4.5 than 4, and would be 5/5 if the prices were about $1 lower per salad. read more

I have not had their salad yet, but I'm a BIG fan of their tart yogurt. I've had other tart yogurts (pinkberry, Mr. Yogato), but this is my favorite. It is smooth and tart without being overpowering. All of the fruits that come along with it are very fresh. I highly recommend getting a yogurt with granola, strawberry and mango. read more

Oh SweetGreen, how I love thee. Your Santorini is an explosion of deliciousness in my mouth. Sometimes I think about making my own salad and then I realize I would end up with the Santorini. It is one of the only places in the world where I happily munch upon the pre-cooked shrimp, which are packed with flavor and never off tasting. (I have shrimp issues) Their frozen yogurt is delicious and in my opinion, the biggest serving in the area. Sometimes they run out of raspberries, but there are worse crimes for a fro-yo place to commit. read more

I come here from Metro Center for lunch. It beat Chop't by a ton - the vegetables are cooked (mushrooms in soy sauce, the broccoli is spicy) which is awesome, and I love the wasabi peas i can add to my salad! +1 for sriracha and +1 for truffle oil. And the miso dressing is AWESOME. read more

The food is interesting and consistent. However, they have a major problem with the staff. Really rude, miserable and sad, they look at you as though they want you to know you are not welcome. That is really bad as this place has potential. Hiring a communication expert should be a priority here. read more

Decent rendition of the ol' vegan salad. I believe I got the kale salad with spicy cashew dressing, which was delicious, though a bit overpriced. I am not deaf however, the staff had the music so loud (and the acoustics of this building) I couldn't hear what the staff member said. I give SweetGreen 3 stars ONLY because I LOVE their frozen yogurt. It is seriously so good, I wish I could eat it every day (and sometimes I do!). You get a choice of 3 toppings included with your yogurt. I usually get blackberries, strawberries and granola. The yogurt is just an original tangy delicious yogurt. The salads aren't very good -- the lettuce seems wilted and the flavors are lacking. I go there only for the yogurt and highly recommend it, too! read more

I'm the newest fan of Sweetgreen. Someone once said to me that the biggest difference noticed between Sweetgreen and other salad spots is the taste. After having salads two days straight from Sweetgreen vs. one other very popular salad-to-go shop? I would really give this place a five, but I can't be too generous with my fives anymore... Sigh... Over the years, I've grown used to salads and can eat them just for fun, but during my stay in DC, Sweetgreen certainly left its mark on me. My friend is vegetarian, so when we went out for lunch together, we had a somewhat difficult time choosing where to go. That is until we hit Sweetgreen. Let me not start to tell a story here, because I do that a lot; the salad here was AMAZING! For a chain salad restaurant, I was pretty impressed. They have an amazing variety of salads you can choose from and you also have the option of building your own. I chose the misoba, seeing this as a very unique option (soba are Japanese buckwheat noodles). The misoba contains: organic mesclun with soba noodles, avocado, raw corn, carrots, raw seeds and cilantro; topped with a miso sesame ginger vinaigrette and a squeeze of sriracha (straight off their website since my memory is great)! Instead of carrots, I asked for a substitute of grape tomatoes, added roasted tofu, avocado, dried cranberries, and maybe some roasted chicken... I forgot, and it came out to around $12, which I was fine with. The salad came with a slice of bread. Yes, this was one amazing salad. I licked the bowl clean, not literally, but I refused to let go of the last piece of green. I can't wait til they open in NYC (they said they're coming soon) and should be a regular! :) And you know what? Five stars for being organic! :) read more

Sweet green is one of my favorite local places to eat for lunch. But the DuPont circle location customer service is very unsatisfactory. I had to explain my order several times. Still incorrect I asked for a very light amount of dressing that is not what I received. My bowl barely has lettuce and kale very minimum amount of salad fixing. My favorite salad place ever! The customizable salads are my favorite but everything on the menu looks amazing as well. The dressings are very unique and are homemade in store such as cashew vinaigrette and pesto vinaigrette (my favorite), and there's even a list on the wall of all of the premium quality local ingredients and where they're from. Super healthy and a great place for health nuts and fans of natural, organic food. The employees are also very nice, and while the salads are a little pricy, it's well worth it because the portions are substantial. I strongly recommend this place. read more

Let the FroYo judgement begin: The froyo itself... mediocre. And a small was $4 + 3 toppings. 3 toppings out of a grand total of like 8 choices. No exaggeration. And as a froyo consumer that is loyal to her regular toppings of choice: Kiwi and Mochi my heart broke a little that they had NEITHER. I'd like to review SweetGreen based on more than one encounter, but I feel that there is a slim to none chance that I'm going back... for froyo atleast. Looking at the other reviews it seems the salads here are worth checking out though. Hmm.. maybe I won't slam the door shut on SweetGreen afterall and instead just keep it a crack open. read more

We happened upon Sweetgreen when visiting DC for our wedding and as I'm oft to do, I'm going to follow the locals. I normally don't like salad places very much or order salads unless I have a rare salad craving. I tried Sweetgreen recently and was really impressed. I had a bowl with some grains (maybe the Earth bowl?) and it was really very delicious and satisfying. I am looking forward to trying other bowls/salads on their menu. read more

Amazing food and great, brisk service! My favorite Sweetgreen in the city.

I tried this place for the first time today. Their menu is super confusing. If you build your own bowl, they say it's "$6.60" for lettuce and 4 toppings, plus dressing. Then there are "premium toppings" that cost extra, like chicken, eggs, avocado, etc. Fine. But what they DON'T tell you, is that ALL the toppings are extra charge - so basically you pay $6.60 for a bowl of lettuce and everything else was extra. I added carrots, grape tomatoes, beets, and green beans. No protein, no avocado. $10.00 salad. When I pointed out to the staff that these toppings weren't listed as "premium" on the menu, they said "oh well they're premium," as if that explained something. No apologies for the misunderstanding or false advertising. And that's the story of how I paid $10 for a terrible salad with no protein on it. Would not go again. read more
