I visited my local Home Depot to check out the water heaters and to get an installation quote. Stan at Home Depot in plumbing department greeted me and explained the process and input my contact information and water heater needs into their system to have their trusted trade partner, Sweetwater Home Services, contact me to provide a quote. Sweetwater Home Services representative Yolanda called ne promptly within a few hours and went over all the details and had me send in photos of the attic access and existing water heaters in attic to be replaced, in order to help me out versus an on-site visit since it was the day before Christmas Eve. Yolanda went over the costs for the Rheem water heaters sold by Home Depot and quoted the cost for me to upgrade for a 12 yr Rheem versus the 6 yr Rheem since I want a higher energy efficiency rating and the 3 yr in-house parts and labor warranty Rheem provides on the 12 year model. The plumbing crew showed up on time as scheduled the Monday after Christmas and worked very methodically and efficiently with quality workmanship and attention to detail to drain and remove the existing water heaters and to began the installation of new plumbing supply line for water and gas using the best quality stainless, copper, and brass fittings and valves for the supply lines and using ProPEX Uponor pressed fittings to make connections to existing Pex water lines along with black iron pipe to plumb natural gas. Yolanda said that Sweetwater Home Services would include everything necessary to meet current municipal building code in Georgetown and they did exactly that with new drip legs on the gas supply as well as the required Expansion Tanks along with new larger drain pans. The two lead plumbers and helper were obviously very experienced and they demonstrated excellent workmanship in completing the installation and tests before turning on the gas and water to ensure proper operation and settings. The cost of water heater replacement has risen in the last ten years since I had a plumbing company replace one in our last house, but after checking Lowe's and a few other plumbing companies, I was able to save a few hundred dollars even with the upgrade to a 12 yr model by proactively installing both instead of only the one that failed since they were both 13 yrs old and had went through the winter storm last February. I'd recommend Sweetwater Home Services for anyone needing to replace a water heater for the quality workmanlike manner in which they work along with the quality plumbing fittings, etc they use on installs. It appears they also do RainSoft water softeners through Home Depot, so I will call them first the next time I have a water heater or water softener go out. read more

I recently worked for this company to aid my dad who is losing a fight to cancer. They use a login database called paycom. I informed my supervisor my phone was stolen, which means he would have to log in my hours manually. Out of my whole orientation group I'm the only one who sold a 8000 machine in three days which is a big thing. My boss not only fired me but he didn't even pay me me my full check and I didn't do anything wrong. The crazy part i use that money to get back and forth from Saint David's in Austin,and I live in Killeen. I needed the money I worked for. I have proof of me being at work and I have proof of my boss telling me he would fix my hours. I was emotionally drained so I couldn't take proper action. Undeniable evidence. Ive been reaching out to everyone I know on legal advice. And I finally found an angel I am going to sue this company I only wanted my $400 check. My lawyer who after seeing my evidence took my case said I can pay him after we win and 400 dollars is a joke compared to what I will receive granted the circumstance. My father's illness has nothing to do with this company but I worked to pay for rides so I may be by his side during his last day. I was robbed I have proof. I hope justice will be served. This review has to do with the tech I just got off the phone with... 1. I am an existing customer and I like my system 2. I like my system so much I wanted to get an additional system for a townhome we rent out 3. I was in Home Depot yesterday afternoon and the absolute friendliest representative helped my wife and I out (he was also a rep for Sweetwater) with something absolutely NOT related to a Sweet water system!!!!! I filled out a form so that Sweet water could contact me...put both the address where I'd like the system and my current address (where I wrote in that I was an existing customer) However when the tech called me just now - I went ahead and informed him that (a) I was an existing customer and (b) Sweetwater had already gone out to test the water, talked to me about the different systems however at the time we were upgrading a lot of things to our new home... Here we are a couple of years later and I filled out the sheet in Home Depot so a tech could contact me and just a moment ago a tech called to inform me: "we're at the property (my town home rental) but no one is answering". No one is answering because I'm in my house and the understanding was for a tech (from Sweetwater) to contact me via phone to discuss how to proceed. Ok, so here is where listening to a customer comes into play: (1) I informed the tech over the phone that it had been over 2 years since the water was last tested Tech's response: we recommend you test the water out every six months (mind you I get my system serviced for my home annually) - but let's continue (2) I asked the tech how would he like to proceed - he informed me he could reschedule - GREAT I thought, but then: Tech's response: we recommend (keep this word and what it actually means by definition in mind) if you're married to have both of you there... I informed the tech that my wife wouldn't be able to be there but I could - so let's schedule Tech's response: again informing me that this way both husband and wife could see the visual results of the water test - explaining how they have extended hours for this purpose, etc, etc.... (3) at this point I informed the tech: "look, it seems that no matter what I say - you're going to keep repeating options that you feel I need to comply with, so go ahead and have a great rest of your day and we'll just leave things right here......" Bottom line, I couldn't be MORE disappointed nor disgusted with the fact you (the tech) had someone on the phone that simply wanted to go over what the current prices were for the options of the different systems. Oh yeah, almost forgot... Tech's response: prices have changed since you last for a quote????? I actually mentioned that I wanted updated prices and to discuss which system to go with... WHY ON EARTH WAS NOTHING I WAS SAYING OF ANY IMPORTANCE???? You wanted to show my wife and I the results of the water test - however YOU didn't take a fraction of a second to listen to the fact YOU had a sale, I just needed to be reminded of what the current prices were??? Now you have two things (1) a completely pissed off current customer and (2) this review!!!!! If you happen to be reading this, PLEASE use this to train anyone in sales. LISTEN instead of simply running your spiel!!!!!!!! Individual who quoted based on pics, not an appt where i had to schedule someone to come look and wait, was informative, quick and told me exactly what to expect and the process. Answered all my questions with enthusiasm and didn't sound frustrated with me but rather enjoying what he does. They scheduled me within 2 days and didn't put my appt out a week or two. Plumber and assistant were nice and friendly. Got in, did what needed to be done and were finished in 3-3.5 hours. Plumber answered all my questions and explained how to drain the tank when questioned. Only thing i wished they had on the truck was the DAP, to seal around the outside WH drain pipes. read more

I brought the water softener from that location about two years ago. According to the agreement, I am supposed to get 10 years of soap package, which translates to two sets of soap packages. Justin delivered one set for me and another for my neighbor as a referral bonus in lieu of the $100 Home Depot gift card. Justin also said that once I run out of soap, I can call up Sweetwater and they will deliver the second set to me. It seemed like a great bonus to the product and we signed the contract. However, I was denied when I went to the location to pick up the second set. I have listed the list of events: On Nov 3, 2021, at 8.09 pm - I emailed the Sweetwater Home Services salesperson, Justin, that from the two sets of soap boxes he had dropped off, one set was from me and the other was for my neighbor as a referral bonus. On Nov 3, 2021, at 8:12 pm - The Sweetwater Home Services salesperson, Justin, agreed that one set was for me and the other was for the referral. Furthermore, Justin stated that I could call them and they would deliver another set to me at any time. On Sept 30, 2023 - I went to the Sweetwater Home Services office to request for the soap set. The manager did not even come out to the customer area to discuss the situation and flatly denied my request. We got a water Softner and air purifier system in 2023. Upon installation until now we have asked multiple times for someone to show us how to maintain our system. We have been told they don't teach their customers to maintain their own systems and we are supplied with an instruction book with a phone number that can walk us through how to change the water system. I was also told they left us the proper tool with the paperwork. The tool was never given, nor is it in the paperwork. If they offered a buy back program, I would definitely sell it back! What company installs and doesn't teach their customers how to maintain the product? This is the most unprofessional business. I was told they would change my water filters for $130. Along comes Sweetwater Home Services with this gem of a postcard containing multiple hallmarks of a scam: * No business name mentioned * Ripoff of a well-known company's styling (Home Depot's colors and font) * Sense of urgency ("call within 72 hours") * Sense of exclusivity ("opportunity to receive...") Luckily we have Google these days and I was able to quickly ascertain that the phone number belonged to Sweetwater and that the promised gift card is for agreeing to a "complimentary water analysis" (and presumably a lengthy high-pressure sales pitch). 1 star for the spam and deceptive marketing practices. They broke our irrigation on install. Came back fixed it May 2018. We've had the irrigation off for a very long time - rained so much over summer last year and the City averaging has just ended. Our pipes and appliances will last MUCH longer, no more soap scum & limescale, soaps/detergents go much further, and our skin and hair is so much softer!! I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE, WHEN IT COMES TO THIS COMPANIES INTEGRITY AND DOING THE RIGHT THING... Concerning My W-2, and what happened when I Reach out in regards to it. I worked for Sweet Water Home Services back in 2021.  During the 2022 tax season I never received a W-2 from the company. I reached out and spoke with a member of HR in order to obtain it.  The HR member informed me that because my employment with the company was for a short time, the company didn't report any taxes and not to worry about it.  That didn't seem right to me, so I spoke with my Tax Rep who informed me to request  a W-2 for tax reporting purposes.   Well after some time I received the W-2 and I filed my taxes.  But soon after I was contacted by the IRS and alerted to a contradiction with the document I filed. Apparently Sweet Water sent a different W-2's to the IRS from the one they sent me.  Now the IRS is requesting the corrected W-2. After being made aware of this, I reached back out to SWHR beginning of this Year 2023 and  informed them of the IRS findings. I was told they would look into the matter and get back with me. Not long after Sweet Water HR confirmed two differing W-2s had been sent out and they would correct the issue. Currently it's been two months or more and I'm still waiting for the corrected W-2.  I've called to speak with the HR Manager , my calls are being screened and avoided. I even called and left a voice mail for the owner. To this date, no one has made any attempts to return my calls. I just want this issue resolved. I've been getting quotes for replacing my hot water heater. On a lark, I went to Home Depot and their "preferred contractor" happens to be Sweetwater Home Services. I spoke to Mark who was polite, professional and knowledgeable. Their quote happened to be the best out of the companies I contacted. Day of install comes and I receive a text from Gina asking if they crew could come early. They did! Actually 15 minutes before promised which worked great for my schedule. The 2 man team got right to work after a quick consult with me. Dishonest sales tactics, and an outrageously priced product. I'll just bullet out the things that stood out: 1. They refuse to do the presentation unless both husband and wife will be present. The claim is that it's a big purchase so they want everyone to be in on it, but the reality is they just want a better chance at presenting to someone who is going to be impressed by their bells and whistles and convince the other to buy a product they don't need. 2. They quote 30 minutes for the presentation when there is no way anyone does it in that time. Ours was about 3 hours, which was pretty disrespectful when both my wife and I had to take that time off of work. 3. The entire presentation is simply showing you how your water needs to be softened and filtered. There is very little that you will find you need their RainSoft product for. It's all flash and no substance. 4A. The product they want to sell you in is about $8,000. The way they justify that and pretty much all they try to sell you on is the lifetime warranty of the product, and their inclusion of some random brand of soap and cleaner subscription. They have you fill out a chart of how much you spend on those types of products per month so that they can compare it to the financed price of the system and say you'll be saving money by them sending you their one brand of stuff (that you may not even end up liking and that probably won't cover every type of cleaner you need). 4B. You can purchase an excellent water softener for around $600 (Fleck 5600sxt), and a good whole home filter system for around $500. Sweetwater tried to make you think you're going to be replacing those every 2-5 years if you don't go with their product, but this just isn't true. 5. Disingenuine sales tactics were all over the place with our guy. Things like "calling the manager to see if we can get a better deal" or "only having one of this model left in stock". Really bad vibe all around on this front, just no aura of honesty at all. 6. We had twins on the way and were looking for legitimately cheaper options, and despite telling our sales rep this and expressing that we really needed to be making smart decisions for our family, he solely cared about the sale and tried to BS why going $8,000 more in debt would save our family money. Got a really bad impression from this company, and while I'm sure the product is really great, is it really worth paying 10x the cost to go from an 8.5/10 product to a 9/10 product? read more

Super conflicted on this review, so much I wasn't going to write one. However, I thought maybe it would fall into the right hands. Jeff B. came to our home on a Friday night to test our water. Knowledgeable, friendly, no pressure type personality, and all around great salesman. We decided to go with the service. Tuesday came around and Bryan, Dylan and Rey came to install it. Again, great guys, hard workers and Bryan seemed to be knowledgeable and professional. Few days passed and I didn't feel any difference in the water. I called, left a message and got a return call from John S. He came out right away, tested the water and said it was testing soft and that sometimes people just don't feel it. It seemed odd that none of the four people in the home felt it, but I said okay. End of great review. I had some people in the neighborhood, who have their service come over, and all said it doesn't feel soft. I called in on Monday morning and spoke to the girl who answered. Explained what I just typed and she literally said "what do you want me to do about it?" I said, well I don't know, is there anything that can be done on my end? She said, in her most irritated voice, "I don't know what you want from me. I can transfer you to the general manager, Kiko. I said yes, please. She grunted, and apparently transferred, which sounded like she hung up. Kiko never called back. My point is this. Had we not signed with Jeff B. right away, and had to call in and got that girl- there is no way in hell, we would've signed up. Her customer service was so bad, that even if Jeff had come back, I would've said we are going with someone else. Any company who would allow that to be the first thing someone comes in contact with, doesn't care about customer service AT ALL. So, here I am, out over $7k, no soft water felt. Oddly , I'd be okay with that if I felt the company was trying to see if there was anything they could do to help, to at least try. But, nope. So yeah, if Jeff, Bryan, and John start their own company, I'll go back to my big mouth referrals. But, until then, you have a displeased customer with a big mouth. read more

Trey, the representative, had his supervisor come on the phone to confirm the details of our appointment, more specifically, confirm that my "husband" would be present. He then refused to have his representative meet me for an appointment without my "husband" after giving him 3 opportunities to do so. The impression I got was that this company or this individual is chauvinistic and does not prefer to work with women. I won't be using these services. Run Run Run from the high prices and lousy service. The softener is clogged - when isolated water runs fine. We called and the scheduled tech responded" its my day off and its not an emergency just bypass it". Then a week later we waste a day having another tech rebuild the unit to no avail but of course he says I'll be back tomorrow. Next day he calls and flakes out to go do an install for another victim in Georgetown. We call the service manager Louis who is full of excuses about why he cant get to it but he assures us he will be there on Friday. So we wait until Friday to see if they show back up and actually accomplish the repair. I will update this post on Friday eve after the next round of attempts to fix a $ 100 worth ancient technology that I paid 4k to have installed. read more

I purchased two Convenient Height 2-piece double flush Tall Toilets from Home Depot in Waco, TX and added the installation fee to my purchase. Sweetwater Home Services-Austin was contracted to provide this service. The first technician did a good job of installing the toilets. After a couple of days I noticed one was losing enough water about every 6-7 minutes triggering the refill valve to raise the water level. I contacted Brandon at Sweetwater who sent Ed a few days later to resolve the problem. Ed was absolutely outstanding! He identified the problem which required disassembling the tank, repositioning the flush mechanism, and reassembling the tank. Sweetwater is extremely fortunate to have Ed on its team. If you are considering the purchase of a whole home water treatment system, hopefully, this will help. I have had my RainSoft system for four years. The first thing that I call a benefit is the fact that I am adding three bags of salt only every eleven months. The only other expense is for changing out the carbon in the whole house carbon filter after three years and the R.O. filter set every year. I just changed my own R.O. filter set. A beeping alarm on my system told me to change the filters. I came from an area of Western Mass. that has water that consistently is rated about fifth in the world for quality. We recently went back for a visit and I would put my RainSoft water up against the water back in Mass. as equal if not better. Other benefits: I have not had to change out toilet flushing mechanisms. I have not had to take apart or replace my shower valve cartridge. I have not had to clean my faucet aerators. (OK, I am a little anal and I do inspect them but there is nothing in them). I can now drain sediment from my hot water heater (Not much there) before I got my system, the drain would not open. That stupid notion that you should drain your whole water heater once a year is just nuts. I drain off about a quart of water once every three months. I recently took apart my dryer vent pipes but for nothing. They were clean. I used to have to disassemble them every six months and they would be full of clothing fibers. Our bath towels are staying nice and fluffy. Our acrylic tub always had a dingy, grey look to the bottom no matter how much we scrubbed it but now, it is perfectly white. We are still using all the pure and gentle soap products and that has saved us a ton of money and they really work. I was not sure if my wife would use the shampoo but she does and she likes it as well as all the other products. When people see how my system was professionally installed, the always have a horror story about someone who went with another company that uses "Handy men" . This is not "The cheapest " system but I think that is the best of all that I have seen and the Warranty is not for the life of the equipment (Which could be seven years) but for the life of the owner. If we ever move (Not planning on it) we will take our RainSoft system with us. read more

Run do walk from this company. We my sister (Ms. V Anderson), had the salesman out since we knew we needed a softener and it did help with our hard water issues but here comes the caution!!!!! We told the salesman that we were planning on moving he assured us that they disconnected and reconnected it for free " oh no worries we will move the system for you" so after forever thanks to Covid took forever for the house to be built when we had a close date we called no we charge a disconnect and a reinstall fee well we got the $150 disconnect waived so I just called to have the system hooked back up in our new home the we had pre plumbed for the water softener and they still want over $550 to come hook it up. To a system that is peplumed for them. We had a man come to the door that said nothing but bad things about this place today that they charge people over 6k and yes ours was over that price when the system should be 3k. Who has 2 hours to waste on high pressure sales these days!? They say that Rainsoft has over 400 products to provide a solution for any water problem, yet at the end....they only give you an option of one system! You can pay almost $8K for a system with a lifetime warranty or a little less for a system with a 20 year warranty! I guess they don't expect consumers to realize that their product will likely be obsolete in the future, making that long of a warranty completely useless. You can have your water treated in the exact same fashion for 1/8th the cost that these scam artists will charge you. Don't help these liars and cheats stay in business. I forgot to mention that if you decline the offer based on price, the salesperson will call his manager to see if they have something more affordable in stock. At this point, the salesperson will tell you that there is one left in stock that is the same but doesn't come with as good of warranty. I forget the price of what they called the "Gold" or "Silver" package. But, it is old school shady sales tactics at best. read more

So I received fake "survey" In the mail. I've uploaded pictures to the sweetwater yelp page. Right away my SCAM Alarm bells are going off. Look at the photos, they've gone all out to make this look like a Survey from HEB, offering a $20 gift card for filling it out. Read the fine print, its so they can market to you, even if you are on the 'do not call' list. Sooooooo slimy. Plus it's a "give away" not necessarily compensation for taking the fake survey... and, "Not affiliated with HEB" (also in fine print). I guess the two giant HEB logos plus the big photo of produce are just there for decoration. But hurry! Must be returned in 48hrs!!! The return address uses SWFS as a business name. The mailto is: Sweetwater Home Services, which has nothing to do with HEB or anything Grocery related. Plus their address has changed, from what yelp has, it is now: Sweetwater Home Services 11525 Stone Hollow Dr. Suite 250 Austin, TX 78758 This reminds me of timeshare marketing. I can't understand how people can afford to do business this way. Combine this with the other reviews, and you'll get a more complete picture. They are resorting to trickery and deception from the moment of first contact. You decide if you want to do business with these people. read more

We reached out to a few companies and our Sweetwater representative was by far the most knowledgeable and helpful in explaining what we are buying and how it works. It is a pricey investment, so we really wanted to understand what we were getting ourselves into. The install was fairly seamless and they followed up with a quality check (and 100 pounds of free salt for the system) to make sure we were satisfied, knew how to maintain it, and it was operating correctly. We were very impressed with the quality of service provided by this company throughout and are very please to have quality water directly in our home. read more

Phil came out to do a water test on our home after purchasing appliances from Home Depot. Initially we thought it was a quick 5 minute water test, but it was much more than that. It was about a 45-minute demonstration where they compared our current water to pure water. We really enjoyed the process and Phil was super friendly and knowledgeable about the water. There were about 5 different test he did to show us how soft, chlorinated, etc our water was. The only negative I would say was how Home Depot set up the appointment. They never told us that it would be an hour long appointment where they prefer that both spouses are present. read more
