Consequently, he began following them on social media, and well, January came and went with them posting an ad in Spanish, which of course, my companion had me call over since I speak Spanish and he does not. They were selling kings' cakes for the Epiphany (for those who speak Spanish those cakes are called rosca de reyes). They had two sizes: medium and large. The medium was massive and we had food for days. I will say though it was something I wasn't unaccustomed to because I usually have the one that is colorful, looking like cake from Mardi Gras. You can revoke my Mexican card here seriously. This is not to say that this one wasn't colorful, it just wasn't the sparkling green and purple rainbow I've known my entire life. Anyhow, it was legitimately delicious and that box was huge. Admittedly, their portions overall are huge. Weeks later we went to First Fridays and I tried their chicken fajita burrito and I regret eating it all in one bite because food coma. This is definitely one of those places that the portions to price are shocking because they're feeding a family for decent prices. Not to mention, too, that the owners, Leslie and Javier, are super nice and friendly. Will definitely keep ordering from them when the occasion arises!

Located at the corner of Thomasville Rd and East 7th Avenue at the convenience store near Midtown Caboose. We stopped by for a quick afternoon snack, and our tacos were absolutely stacked! We ordered one taco each, and they were loaded all the way up! The service was top notch and they offer cute little outdoor shaded picnic tables so you can save your vehicle upholstery from wearing your meal. Be sure to get them "con todo" with cheese, sour cream, cilantro, onion, street corn, and guacamole salsa. These tacos were a perfect balance of spicy heat and cool freshness. They make everything by scratch daily. ‼‼Holy Frijoles‼‼ it was definitely another praiseworthy food experience! Come Back Tacos... can I get an Amen?

My friend wanted a cheese quesadilla, but the system forced us to order it with meat at the same price point, which was disappointing. The food took at least 30 minutes to come out, and when it did, my chicken tacos were overly salty and drenched in liquid/grease, making the flour tortilla soggy. My taco meal came with chips and salsa but the salsa appeared to be premade from a jar like Tostitos Chunky Salsa. While I'm glad I gave it a try and respect the effort, the inability to modify orders and the extended wait time make it hard to justify a return visit, especially if you're on lunchtime and have a time constraint.

Surprised there is not a review of Donaven's already since it is one of the best Food Trucks in a…read morecity with a very good food truck scene...no surprise this is a great food truck since it's run by the same family that ran the sorely missed Donaven's at Market Square which was THE Place to get Breakfast in Tally from the late 80's thru most of the 90's...wait times of an hour to two hours were common on the weekend for their food back in the day so the food truck has a solid pedigree...what I like about Donaven's the most is they actually make much more inventive food than most food trucks do....for example they have the best Shepards Pie in Tally...it has the standards you expect in a Shepard's Pie which include ground beef..carrots..peas..green beans..covered with mashed potatoes and cheese, but in a nice twist on The English/Irish Classic Dish they add some of their homemade pulled pork into it which gives it a nice smokiness...they also make an excellent Shrimp and Grits that does not skimp on the shrimp....the only negative about this dish is that it is served in the standard Styrofoam to-go box when a dish of this type really calls for a fancier plastic bowl type to go container like Carrabba's gives you...while they don't have it all the time when it's on the specials menu I highly recommend the grilled salmon over a bed of spinach...it was prepared better than the last two times I had a similar type dish at Bonefish for sure...if your in the mood for lighter fare they also make excellent pulled pork sandwiches..burgers..and cheesesteaks..I have to say of all the food trucks in town Donaven's has the largest and most diverse menu which is tough to pull off well when you have limited space but they do a fine job....definitely make a point to go as they are all over Tally at events like Food Truck Wednesday and Thursday..First Friday....and at businesses like Grasslands...5 stars all the way and definitely one of the trucks in town worth seeking out

They have partnered with Red Eye Cofee, a local coffee house, to offer a Breakfast Club. Each week they pick a different location to bring fresh cooked goodness and wonderful beverages to your door. Place your order by Wednesday and it will be delivered to your door on Friday. And if you are not in their neighborhood that they will be serving that week, have no fear: you can place an order to pick it up! We ordered the Hakuna Frittata filled with meat, some cinnamon rolls filled with bacon, and a jug of cold brew. It showed up right on time and they have amazing customer service: you can track them online via the link in email, and they will text/call you when they have delivered! Perfect! Everything is pre-cooked and just needs to be heated (20 min for frittata, 10 for cinnamon roll). And everything heated up perfectly...just like we were being served fresh from initial cooking. The frittata was amazing, and can easily serve 4. The cinnamon rolls can also serve 2 each (but you almost certainly want your own) and were warm and gooey. The coffee was the outstanding Red Eye cold brew. For a little over $30 we had breakfast delivered that will feed us for two mornings. I am so glad that they are doing this, and am happy to help 2, small local businesses.

A wonderful weekly event that brings the community together for great food, music, and friendship!…read more Food Truck Thursdays at Lake Ella Park are always a relaxing time to spend with friends, hanging out under the canopy trees and listening to a local band or musician. With food, there's usually about 8 trucks or so scattered around, with everything from pizza, tacos, and reuben sandwiches to cupcakes and other sweets. Plus, you can take advantage of the businesses in the cottages for sweet ice cream, peanut brittle, and snowballs (which were my personal favorite). Remember to bring a camp chair or blanket, as there is no seating available. Also, if you want, you can bring beer or wine. Finally, you could end up having to park all the way down the street, so you may want to arrive early just in case.

Parking is a pain typically with any event at Lake Ella. There were 7 food trucks out there this time, which includes Lucy & Leo's cupcakes in an adorable vintage style camper. I bought food from El Criollo and Street Chefs. Friends bought food from Valhalla and Fired Up Pizza. Overall, if the weather is good, this is a relaxing way to spend an evening out.
