We were scheduled for a "SUPPOSED TO BE" trial today at 1:20pm. I received an email confirmation that my son's trial is scheduled on April 23,2023 at 1:20PM - WEST HILLS Location. To cut the long story, there were NO instructor available. Office is not even opened. My son prepared for this, evan said "JUMP ON THE POOL". All the efforts are just for nothing. Staff said it was a human error. We requested a day off from work for this trial. We even haven't enrolled but we are already disappointed. Can you imagine my 3 year old son's reaction to this? This is not how I imagined SwimRight Academy. LA location is a lot different. I hope your administration can address this issue and work it out. Very disappointing. read more

We have been with Swimright for five years, and it USED to be great. And they still do have some lovely teachers, and their teaching philosophy does work. Unfortunately, the new management is terrible. There are so many last minute cancellations that we end up without a class about 25% of the time, and they don't offer any refunds for canceled classes, only makeup tokens. While we try to schedule makeup classes, it's very hard to find ones that fit our schedule - and often they get canceled last minute too, as was the case this weekend. Right now, we've got about a dozen credits that we'll never be able to use, and we're stuck paying over $100 a month for what usually amounts to three twenty-minute classes. Under the old management, you could get a refund once you've got ten credits for classes they cancel (which didn't use to happen very often), but the new management won't give you refunds no matter how many cancellations they make. And they're rude and aggressive when you ask for one. It's a shame, because my daughters are so far along in their education that it would be disruptive to pull them out, but I hate being stuck supporting this business that takes advantage of its customers in this way. read more

At first, I was very excited to have my four year old daughter work on her swimming with the SwimRight instructors. Their curriculum seemed solid with many skills that the students are to learn, in order to be safe in the water. As of right now, out of around 50 skills that my daughter is supposed to learn, she has mastered about 40. The students receive a sticker for every mastered skill in every level. Overall, the program has about five levels. The students are supposed to pass a safety skill in order to advance to another level. For example, they get thrown in the water by their instructor to see if they can float on their back for about 10 seconds on their own in the water. While my daughter has stickers for almost every category, and has advanced 4 levels, my daughter is still NOT able to swim from one location to another with regular breathing. I'm talking about simple things like dog paddle all or just simply swimming on back. We have been attending Swim Right Academy for 12 months now and working one-on-one (private lessons) . While my daughter has been exposed to many of the water skills, it is evident that she actually mastered very few. On top of this, the school has been moving towards group all the lessons as opposed to private, this means even less one on one time with the instructors. Is a backstory, my daughter is extremely comfortable in the water and grasps the new concepts after a few tries. This is truly mind-boggling, that after regular weekly lessons for 12 months and having gotten to the (stingray level), she's still not yet able to swim comfortably from one location to another. Oh, and did I mention that we pay $210 monthly for a weekly class. Classes are 20 minutes long. This comes up to be around $50 per class. Truly disappointing. read more

Hands down the best swim school I have taken my kids to. The management is great, always helpful and super attentive to the kids. Andre is a great swim coach. He spends a lot of time practicing and doesn't let his students just slack off. If you're there to just make sure your kid knows how to swim for safety or you want your kid to have a future in swim, SwimRight Academy and Andre are highly recommended. read more

These reviews do not tell lies. We were looking forward to start swim lessons for our baby until the class got canceled. Cancellations happen and I get that but at least give us a day notice. My husband took off work from work early and we drove there only to have the class canceled the moment we pulled into the parking lot which was five minutes before the class. We tried everything with my two toddlers but they just hated the water, they are 1 and 3 maybe just not ready. They screamed the entire lesson for weeks. Anyway instead of traumatizing them, I wanted to cancel for now and return in the spring for another try. THEY DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE and they don't call you back. So, the date passed for monthly dues and I was charged another month. I got in touch with them finally a week after calling and they refused to give me my money back, despite circumstances. They said a manager would call, they never did that was a month ago. I guess my money is gone but I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. So frustrating. read more

Can't say enough about our teacher, Oscar! Our daughter had been to 3 different swim schools for both private and group lessons and she struggled so much - lots of screaming and tears. She even struggled for months at Swimright, but we stuck with it because we were determined for her to learn water safety at the encouragement of her preschool. Then, by chance, a substitute came in... Oscar! And it was like magic, no tears or worry and she learned more in just a couple of lessons than she had in months. We made the instructor switch because we felt it was a great teaching technique match for her. We love Oscar so much, that we make the drive from the westside to the valley every week just to get a morning class with him. Thank you so much Oscar! read more

Love this school, love the experience and am so grateful to have my son learning here! We used Jacob who is incredible and patient with our son! Very clean facility and safe as there are guards that have you sign in and out upon arriving. It's great that it's an indoor pool and the pool is always heated. Asal is so wonderful and helpful every time we come in!! She is polite and is always there to help us and greet us with her amazing energy and smile. We are so happy that we found Swim Right Academy for our five year old daughter. Learning to swim is such an important skill to have in life, and learning as a child can be a little intimidating at first. My daughter felt completely at ease when she first started because the teachers are very welcoming, kind, patient and encouraging. Every week my daughter looks forward to her swim class and is eager to try the new skills that she's learning. The classes are also flexible, and if you need to cancel, you are given a credit to do another class, which is a huge help with busy schedules. We have a 5 yr old and a 3 yr old that have been going to swim right for 8 months. There is a night and day difference in their competence and confidence in the water. My five year old is full on swimming and she will continue to develop there. My three year old is still a little one but he has great survival skills in the water. This is a clean and very resourceful swimming academy. The coaches just doesn't teach the students, but also the families (about the next steps, goals, and how to improve on the current deficit areas). My husband and I decided to do the SwimRight free trial and were impressed by how well they introduced our child to the water to make her feel comfortable. The class was small which we loved. The instructor is good at giving the parent in the water instructions and demonstrating as needed. The only downside for us is that it is located within a private school which our class is right around pickup time which means traffic getting into the parking lot and checking in with security and providing our ID's. It just requires giving yourself extra time. Also, more than one family room for changing children would be nice as well. Overall, we would recommend this location. read more

My son has been taking swim lessons for 4 years and had little improvement. Previously there was a high turnover of teachers and some were great and some weren't. As a result, my son hardly advanced, he barely got his he'd wet after 4 years. I expressed this frustration to the management recently and they responded and went above and beyond. Got my son a great teacher who cares and is very knowledgeable. My son now swims like a fish and the result in just 3 short months is astounding. I enrolled my son for one month or 4 sessions,but they just allowed him to attend just two sessions. Their reason was that because we didn't want to enroll for the next month my son cannot use his two remaining session. They name it tokens and they said it was mentioned in their policy that if we are no longer a member we cannot use the tokens. It was just a dirty lie. I usually do not write reviews. But I have had the worst experience with this company with no resolution. I put my daughter in group swim lessons in August. That was not a good fit and I did not care for the instructor. These were six year olds. He wasn't cam in the water, didn't seem very patient and his corrections were over reactive and alarming. Again, six year olds. I then switched to the more expensive private lessons. These lessons were not much better. My six year old is water safe and can swim/doggy paddle but needed to work on strokes. I felt like she did not have a have a consistent instructor and the lessons were always repeating because the instructor was always starting over trying to assess her skill level. I decided not to move forward with lessons in September. I missed dropping her from September lessons by one day. When I realized my credit card had been charged I tried calling the office. Which should be noted I can never actually talk to a real person. No one ever answers the phone. So, I sent an email explaining I needed my card to be refunded. I did not want to move forward. I received an email saying my request for a refund had been forwarded and I assumed it was being processed. Fast forward eleven days later and I receive a voice mail denying my refund. It is note worthy this missed call was on a Sunday over the Labor Day weekend. When many families are at the beach or out of town, not a great time to be reached by phone to resolve an issue with a customer. This is so ridiculous and horrible way to do business. In this voicemail she reported that my request was denied and that I could use the credit for the charge in September or October. It should be noted I don't see this credit in the app that the company wants you to use. I should be able to use this credit whenever it fits my schedule if I have already paid for the service . I understand that the policy is to try and drop classes before cards are charged. I missed it by a day. I had the wrong date down. Reasonable people and businesses understand that customers have busy schedules and have a little grace period. Especially when your business is family/children centered. At the very least an email reminder that my credit card is getting ready to be charged within the next 24 hours. Once again I have tried to call and no one answers the phone in the office. Swim Right Academy wants to charge a prime rate, without running a prime business. I would avoid this company at all costs. LA Surf and Swim is a better alternative, or hire a private instructor to come to your backyard pool anything but this company. Not good. read more

The instructures are ok and i wish the sessions were longer (20 minutes for private lessons are too short). however, i have trouble with the parking lot and getting into the pool area which is very hard. there are three check points that one requir an id and the other one requires scanning the app! the parking spots are supper narrow and they don't have an elevator or stroller ramp for getting to the 1st level from the underground parking level that they ask you to park in. read more

My son been swing at this locations since he was 6 months. It seems like when owners change the program did to. They haven't been having consistently with the swim coaches so it makes it's confusing for the kids when they come and it's a different instructor every other time. Then there teaching the kid the same stuff they already previously did.Besides that it serves the purpose of teaching the kids how to swim. read more

My kid started swimming in SwimRight academy with lots of water anxiety. The instructor was patient when I was loosing patience. They worked with my kids fear and went at her pace. At first I wanted my daughter to just learn how to do basic swimming, which she learnt in 3 months. Yet, we still go to SwimRight one year later so she can learn all the techniques. The private lessons for beginning levels were expensive for the 20 minute lesson. Sometimes the transition between kids by the instructor meant we had 17-18 minutes of lesson. Now that she is in group lessons, it is quite affordable for us. We chose our instructor and time/day of the class based on our work schedule and positive experience with the instructor.
