No wait on a busy Friday night! Welcoming service and quiet inside which was nice. The food was SO GOOD. I got a veggie option and my boyfriend enjoyed a beef option that he said was very good.

My bf comes here often and raves about the duck. I tried the udon noodles with shrimp. It was really good! There was some of the shrimp shell that I would have to remove while eating. It was also pretty salty and the sauce didn't taste like teriyaki. It was still really good though. I feel like they probably use msg here, which if they do they should stop. We both felt extremely tired after the meals and I got a headache. The noodles were really good, but definitely not healthy to have this often!

One of my go to take out Thai restaurants and I won't be in the area for awhile so of course we had to have one last Pad Thai experience from here! There Chicken Pad Thai is our favorite! You can order online or call in which makes it easy for all! Super fast and I would say only downside is parking if it is during a busy time! I've never ate in but they do have a small dinning area!

We made a last minute decision to change our group lunch plans and Sy Thai Cafe was right across the street and not busy at all since they had just opened. As we entered the front door on Hamilton Row and were seated I realized that we had eaten here quite a few years ago and remembered it to have been a pretty good Thai restaurant! At that time we had entered through the back entrance facing the parking structure that offers first two hour parking free! There were eight in our group and we were the only ones there so putting tables together was quick and easy. Even later after other customers arrived, it remained relatively quiet so it was great for us to have our earth shaking conversations. The menu contained the usual Thai dishes an my wife ordered the Green Curry Tofu and I ordered the Red Curry Scallops. Water was distributed to everyone and our server kept them full throughout our meal. There were bowls of puff chips to munch while we waited for our entrees. Next everyone received a cup of Hot and Sour Soup that was hot, sour, and delicious! Finally our entrees arrived! I let my phone camera eat first but, to my undying shame, I shot everything except my Red Curry Scallops that I mindlessly devoured before I realized. But it was excellent with the right amount of heat for medium. Others in the group ordered Drunken Noodles, Fried Rice, and Sesame Chicken and everyone was happy with their choices. I need to come back to try more dishes!

Why is my Thai looking like a rice based Shepherd's Pie? Asked for no corn and extra pea pods but I didn't mean I wanted frozen vegetable melody. Extremely mediocre at best and this kills me because this place has been my go to for so many years. Thanks for giving me a half bag of frozen Meijer vegetable medley and white rice and some red pepper flakes... extremely disappointed with a place that usually is top notch. Whoever let this leave the kitchen needs to leave the kitchen. Come on.. look at the frozen carrots and eggs... legit right from a bag!! Disgusting. Beyond that....My fresh rolls showed up with two pieces of shrimp total between the two rolls (not two per roll... you rad the right) and no dipping sauce. Go somewhere else if this is the quality that's leaving the kitchen now.

Nice quaint little place downtown Birmingham. This Thai place is really delicious and praise worthy! Food is fresh and there is something for every diet, restriction and limited spice palate! The menu has a huge variety to pick from and if you see a dish you like, you can even personalize it by omitting an ingredient or adding ingredients. The waiter was very resourceful and knowledgeable to recommend dishes and heat level that we would like. Be prepared to feed the meter as it's only 1 hour parking and you'll need to go back out to extend your time. Well worth it for the flavorful food you get!

So come on. Food was good. It pretty much always is and is consistent. But if I had wanted a meal of fries potatoes in curry sauce I would not have asked for chicken in it 8 small pieces of chicken. 42 pieces of fried potatoes. Come on. That's not even trying See the pic. And I had already eaten a few potatoes looking chicken You guys are better than this

Noodles were decent, fried rice was 2 star if that, medium was tasteless and sent it back. Made my husband nauseous.

I love this place, the staff is always so friendly and have often popped out with my take out to my car. I've come too early before and they've offered to let me sit in my car and they'd bring it out to me when I'm ready. That's service! The food is always fresh and flavorful. We love the pad Thai with tofu for the kids and we go back and forth with curries and noodle dishes ourselves. Spice level here is standard and you can get it on the side if you're so inclined which is nice to amp it up on your own terms. Crab rangoons are still the best here with the green onion really perking up the cream cheese inside. Can't go wrong with any of the dishes. The community know about this place now so wait times are a little closer to 25-30 min during peak dinner times so plan accordingly for take out. They do have a small indoor seating area with a couple tables and bar seating but this is mostly a take out restaurant. Enjoy!

Ordered appetizer sampler, and tom yum soup, pad Thai, chicken and steamed tofu and veggies, extra hot, Thai basil with chicken and added mushrooms, medium spicy. $58.10 The chicken dumpling and the crab wonton are all cold, what in the world! The second try of the chicken dumplings were warmer and not bad. The crab cheese wonton is so-so, the cheese is not cream cheesy as expected, not sure if there is something else in there. Hardly any crab at all. The plum sauce is like a syrup, runny and super sticky and oh so messy. The Thai sauce and the basil sauce are both quite sweet too. The pad basil is good, good heat, lots of green peppers and carrots. The chicken is overcooked, it's a good thing it's swimming in sauce then. The tom yum soup was good, quite spicy for medium spice. Service is very good here, super warm, friendly and really want to give you a good experience.

Their soups are incredible: seasonal clam chowder, Gazpacho, potatoe leek, (too many to list) recipes that only they make. And that's one of the reasons why if you don't shop there you can't get these delicious tastes anywhere else. Frozen desserts, Middle Eastern salads. - there's an wide variety of pre-prepared foods for takeout. There is no in-store dining. I'll admit I've become hooked on the buttermilk pancakes; I have to have at least one in the morning. I'll typically have one of their soups with lunch. Right now, I'm kind of hooked on potato leek. The service and the staff have become friends - truly lovely people. When you go, ask to meet Danny, the second generation of chef owners - he has taken their recipes to a new level. More good news: their prices modest for what they provide. Admittedly I eat a lot of Simply Good dishes spending money there is a pleasure. . This is a Birmingham gem deserving of community support.
