When he walked in, there was one table eating and three employees behind the counter talking and playing on their phones -- while I was STILL on hold. The food was decent overall. Unfortunately, one of our orders was completely wrong, and what we received in place of the Margherita-style pizza we ordered wasn't really something we cared for. The rest of the food was pretty good. We did takeout, and the service was fairly neutral -- I wouldn't describe them as especially welcoming, but they weren't rude either. It is New Years' Eve; they were busy, understandably. We ordered and paid online and were told the pizza wouldn't be done at 6:45 but at 7:15-7:20. The wait was a bit frustrating but the pizza (a large supreme with extra cheese-not overly evident) was VERY GOOD! Crust was well done and not too thick. 11 years ago I gave this place 5 stars. We ordered pizza to go last month and it was just "okay." I dismissed it because they are almost always amazing. Everyone is forgiven for quality once right? Tonight we had two pizzas: pepperoni mushroom and a supreme. I was looking forward to deliciousness with that first bite. Supreme was subpar. We wanted to try out a new pizza place in lovely New Braunfels and stumbled on this hole in the wall business. It was easy to find and had decent parking. Once we arrived we were quickly greeted and asked to sit wherever we liked. Our server was great and had a positive attitude. We first ordered the garlic cheesy bread with a side of marinara and ranch. And for our main pizza we ordered the medium Butcher Shop with Mikes Hot Honey Drizzle. It was a little of a wait for everything, but the taste was decent when it arrived and although I love spicy, the drizzle didn't really give the pizza any spice at all, but more of a sweet taste, so that was a little disappointing. With the nice bar like atmosphere, good pizza, and the positive vibes of the waiter, I give this business 4 stars. Will most likely come back to try other pizzas. read more

This was my third time ordering pick up. Every time I arrived at the time they gave me and every time I've been told it would be 20 more minutes. Been frequenting this location for over 5 years, the old owners were great. Unfortunately since they sold it, the customer service isn't what it was. Last night placed an order online, quoted 60 mins, wife was out running errands, when calling in it was 30. She spoke to the manager and he was very adamant that she would wait the quoted time online and they don't move times. Not only this but they also forgot our marinara sauce with the mozz sticks. Yesterday was disappointing. Saturday afternoon, not all that crowded, and waited over 45 minutes to get one large pizza. When it finally came out, it had a little cheese on it, a little sauce and was on a paper thin crust, with little taste, very dry. However, it was warm. Our waitress also tending the bar was attentive, but this seemed a bit beyond her control. Not sure what's happening in the kitchen. I arrived at 6:15ish and was told that online orders are ready after a possible 50 minutes. However, phone orders take 15 minutes less. Go figure! The cashier was uninterested in speaking and providing status. Her voice was low and hard to hear due to the internal music. So I sat down to wait for my pizza! I decided to read Yelp reviews. I was told they were running behind and the wings would be another five minutes. 20 minutes later they were finally ready. But my pizza sat there for 20 minutes. Tonight, we dined in. We ordered mozzarella sticks, pizza, and wings. The sticks took 40 minutes, the pizza another 30, and we never received the wings. Never. This is our favorite pizza spot in New Braunfels and I feel terrible forgetting to post a review sooner. The staff are always friendly, helpful and welcoming. Their pizzas are always good and cooked perfectly every time in my opinion. Although we have tried a few items in the menu, our go-to order is the Supreme and pepperoni for the kids. I loooove the crust here. We've tried their garlic knots and it was pretty good too. Very garlicky so beware if you're on a date. The chicken wings look very appetizing. We'll have to try it next time. Beer is always cold, refreshing margaritas and they give military discount. What is not to love? read more

Had the lunch special with 2 slices yesterday. Not sure what happened but a year or so ago this was the go to place. Not sure what happened but it has been downhill. First the slices are half the size they used to be. There were the size of a dominos slice, came out too well done, and had little to no taste like it was old. We ordered this on uber eats and waited an hour and a half on its arrival. When you reach out to the store directly they say it will be 30 minutes for you to pick up this item. They prioritize other customers over the ones who ordered despite paying the same if not more for the delivery if there pizza. This pizza is pretty good. I'd say that it would be a good standby pizza. Like if you wanted something a little bit nicer than Papa John's, this would be the place to go. Also, Papa John's doesn't have green olives. The crust was nice and chewy, and the sauce was good. The toppings were about what you would expect. Nothing that really blows your skirt up. I do wish that the sauce would go out further to the edge; there were some places on the pizza that I got (picture below) where the sauce stopped 2 inches from the edge. That's a lot of real estate without sauce or cheese. Also, I would say that the prices are pretty reasonable. The pizza that I got was a large (18") with two toppings and it was $18.93 after tax. I do think that I will try this place again, but we will have to have a discussion about getting the sauce and cheese closer to the edge. read more

We finally went back to New York Pizza Pub. It seems to have finally gotten back on track. My only complaint is that the sauce needs to be seasoned. It tasted raw, as if a can of tomato purée was opened and scooped directly on the pizza. They were very busy and seemed to be overwhelmed. This could explain the raw sauce issue. I have always loved this place since moving here in 2011. I hope they get fully back on track.. they actually added two options on their online menu, from my requests: sauce and cheese spread to an inch from the edge; extra sauce. Back in 2011 they were routinely making Pizzas with a two inch or more crust (No sauce and cheese). Hopefully they are back and very successful! read more

Let's start with the salad. It is always good and fresh. I am fussy with cucumbers but I love theirs!! The Italian dressing is just right. My husband does not like cheese. I know! So we order half with cheese and half without cheese. They always get it right. This is one of our favorite pizza places in town. I only have two favorites in town with this one included. Their crust is the real deal. Nice and chewy yet soft at the same time. They have amazing lunch specials. A salad, slice and soda for $10. Or two slices and a soda for $10. I hope I got that right. Always receive good service. The right side of the restaurant is sort of self serve. You place your order at the front counter and pay for it and then grab a table and wait for them to call your name. The left side is full service with a bar. read more
