Cute little cafe with bakery items, sandwiches, breakfast, and coffees. I came with a friend and we ordered the chorizo burrito and everything avo toast. We asked for half of the toast with no arugula on it, which they gladly did. We even got a side of bacon extra crispy. I'm not a fan of bacon but i loved it. I got the plain Jane latte iced with oat milk. It was great. The only thing that I didn't care for was the chorizo burrito. first time in this coffee shop! came in here on Monday morning. Craving for a good coffee and yummy breakfast. This place did not disappoint. i got cafe noir and tuna melt! my gosh the tuna melt was delicious!! i love the bread that they use for the sandwich, i love the taste of the cheese in the tuna sandwich, the amount tuna that the use was PERFECT! The tuna is my favorite now! lol My coffee has smooth taste and dark chocolate, i love it! ALSO, they have a lot of pastries! i will come back try it next time. I got an iced Matcha latte with oat milk and a little bit of maple syrup, it was good. However, I wasn't aware that they charged a full dollar for oat milk, and an additional dollar just for a little bit of maple syrup. On top of that, there was a 3% credit card charged, even though I use a debit card, that I wasn't aware about and they didn't tell me about. The smoked oak flavor hits you here and there during your experience with your drink. This drink is simply delicious, yet on the sweet side. The plain jane is a latte with Ugandan vanilla bean syrup. This drink gives off a vanilla bean ice cream flavor mixed with coffee. The coffee is gentle on the taste buds and smooth. Service/Ambiance: The service is good. The staff with welcoming and if they see that you haven't been helped, they will greet you and make sure to get your order, and then return to the task. As a someone with cocktail experience and a barista background, (sorry not sorry but my opinion definitely outweighs everyone else's) I can say with full sincerity this place really blows every category out of the water. Drinks? Fantastic. Food? Phenomenal. Service? Exceptional. Ambiance and Environment? Superb. Family friendly for those with little ones - but also fun and hip for those who like to get funky with their bevs. The menu is extensive enough to cater to everyone no matter your extra special snooty tastes and preferences. However, I don't recommend coming with a large group as space is limited and OBVIOUSLY come already anticipating to pay more than your average coffee while also having the basic decency to leave 20%. A cute spot for breakfast! Gave very nice small town vibes and the food was good too! I love breakfast sandwiches so I got the bodega. It was a solid sandwich!! I liked the potato bun (kind of reminds me of a softer brioche) and the mayo inside gave it a nice flavor as well. (The potato bun can be subbed for croissant for additional $). The size was decent too and was a perfect amount for me! They're flexible with changes to the order as well and took out the eggs + mayo in my friend's sandwich due to her allergies. I also like how they have condiment bottles on the counter available for you. I also got the coconut cream latte (forgot the name) it was light but not too strong on coconut flavor. For me it was good enough even though I would have liked it be more coconut-y. I want to try their plain jane if I'm ever in the area again since it's a vanilla bean flavor. Is one option really an option? Why do people with Celiac disease have to live with Communism? Just kidding. I hate capitalism. But I do enjoy getting a cup of coffee once in a while, instead of paying rent, and it would be nice to be able to also chew on something at the same time. Something not sweet but more crusty and slightly bitter, like this review. The staff is always nice, so now I feel bad for complaining. This place is like the living room of Sierra Madre. A really weird living room with too many high chairs which makes sitting on the only couch a strange experience, like being on a throne but in a hole. Not looking at the view of the mountains but instead facing a sign that says there is no restroom for customers. Surely this must be illegal, when the main fare is a diuretic drug?! read more

Well, I love, love, love this coffee shop! It's located right in the middle of the Sierra Madre downtown district which I love walking around. Syndicate has that great local coffee shop vibe with super friendly baristas and a tasty selection of unique drinks. I had The Bolt (espresso, milk, house-made dark caramel & a smoked sea salt garnish) which was so good!! I listed the ingredients because you can actually taste each one in this rich, smooth drink. My son ordered the MOOD RING which is a complete surprise because it is whatever the barista wants to make for you :) I can't tell you what's in it because I don't know... which is part of the fun of this drink! Indoor design and layout were modern and spacious with copious of natural lights. It's my first time here and was warmly greeted in non-perfunctory manner by a young cute blonde female. I perused their menu and deliberated to order the following: nitro cold brew, a plain noir coffee, choco croissant and berry and cream toast. The coffee and cold brew were good. Similarly, the chocolate croissant was soft, warm and taste very good, as well as the toast. Indoor dine-in vibe was relaxing. As well as their Outdoor front patio. Both dine-in seats were limited to some extent. Service was on point. Food/Coffee prices reflects market value. Free Wifi available. Overall, we had a relaxing light breakfast. Stopped by when I was in the area to grab breakfast. Got one of their signature coffees, Plain Jane. This has house-made Ugandan vanilla bean syrup (not too sweet), espresso, and milk. It was piping hot so had to let it sit for a while before drinking it but then finished it too fast before getting to take a picture (it was that good!). Also tried the bodega which has eggs, aged cheddar, crispy bacon, and creamy harissa mayo on a toasted potato bun. Cool little coffee shop in Sierra Madre! Parking can be difficult and the interior has some nice tables if you want to get some studying or work down. The shop is very cute but has very limited seating options. The employee who helped was the sweetest and most patient person. I was still deciding but she was happy to answer all my questions! I finally settled on a bees knees scone($4.50), two berry danishes ($5x2), the filled morning bun ($5), a basic b burrito ($11), and an iced strawberry mint latte ($6.25). The pastries were super delicious! Not too sweet. My favorite was the berry danish! The burrito was pretty good but felt a little bland. The green sauce definitely made it taste better. I was visiting the Sierra Madre and upon craving coffee discovered Syndicate on Yelp. I have to admit even after using Google Maps, it was quite difficult to find. For any newcomers, look for a blue arbor overhang; the entrance will be nearby. At noon, Syndicate was quite popular with lines towards the door. I wasn't sure what to order, so I decided to get a Mood Ring (omakase for coffee). I wasn't sure what I got, but it tasted like an iced espresso with oat milk and agave. I wish I had mentioned that it would be best to go half sweet because the drink was very sweet, and the espresso was strong enough that it was difficult for me to finish in a few hours. The interior is quite a nice hangout spot, but I would say that in times of high foot traffic that it isn't nice for studying. Syndicate offers great coffee, fantastic atmosphere, and delicious pastries made in-house. I seriously love this gem of a coffeeshop, and I make it a point to swing by at least once a week. I have tried most of their lattes by now, including the current selection of seasonal drinks. My current favorites are the Bolt (salted caramel latte) from the regular menu and the Captain Jack latte (basically salted brown sugar) from their seasonal menu. The syrups are made in-house so there wasn't that artificial sweetener taste to any of their drinks like you might find at other coffee shops that use Torani or other store bought flavored syrups. And the baristas have always been pretty accommodating, like when I ask for extra flavor/syrup or sea salt. The pastries are also top-notch, and I highly recommend their almond croissant warmed up. It's delicious! So as I said, Syndicate has everything, from delicious coffee and pastries to superb service and fantastic atmosphere. There was a small seating area but the flow in and out is quick enough that we didn't have trouble finding a seat. The coconut head has coconut cream in it and it had a really nice flavor with the coffee. The scone was good as well, although I decided to bring it home and warm it up to finish it. Met up with a client for some coffee and conversation. I'd never been to Sierra Madre before and was very impressed with the town. Seems like a wonderful place to live outside of LA. This coffee spot is sort of hidden away (no giant sign or anything) and is across the street from a Starbucks, but opt for local, definitely. The coffee options are solid and they offer the elusive pour over! I didn't get any pictures (not good form when there for business) but you'll have to trust me that the breakfast burrito was amazing. Solid flavor and the option of red or green salsa to accompany it. I opted for green and it was just the right touch for my breakfast burrito. What a find! This is a nice local coffee shop with many surprise treats. My husband got a cappuccino and we picked up a jalapeño scone, morning bun, and ube mochi muffin. ALL were delicious! Delicious coffees and good service. Visited the charming city of Sierra Madre on a cold rainy day in hopes to try Syndicate Coffee. I've always passed by this shop but it was beee open in the evenings. I ordered the Janet and the plain Jane. Both were smooth and not too sweet. I really like this cute little coffee shop in Sierra Madre. It's at the busiest downtown intersection. On the weekends it's packed with cyclists coming through town. So sometimes I'd avoid coming here on the weekends. The staff is always friendly. The pastry case always fills with something yummy. My go to drink is the nitro cold brew. Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and we waited in a short line. We ordered the bolt coffee and the peppermint noir. The bolt coffee had a nice caramel flavor, and the peppermint noir had a rich chocolatey taste. We were feeling peckish, so we also ordered the chocolate croissant and a peppermint cookie. The chocolate croissant was the perfect combination of moist and flakey. I love when the chocolate is still a bit solid in the middle. Everything was good! Usually at little coffee shops like this, I am disappointed with at least one of the drinks I order. Not here. They know what they are doing here.
