Standouts are the cherry, and poppy cheesecakes, coffee cake, and fruit/apricot filled rugaliky ( rugelach), apple cake and of course the babkas and assorted Polish cookies ( chocolate, poppy, linzer). If you see the potato babkas grab it! They only make it occasionally and it is savory with shredded potatoes, onions and bacon bits. I am not kidding, prices here are less than half what all those crummy commercial New Brooklyn cafés now charge. I stop here on the way to my Moms out on Long Island or The City and bring cookies and cakes for our office parties. My mom and employees are very pleased and ask "where did you get this?" It has their nice logo label with the list of ingredients and that's where I was shocked. Artificial butter flavor. Artificial? Not real butter? Yellow food coloring, FD&C yellow #5, FD&C yellow #6 and #40. This is the same as buying one at the supermarket. The reason they have so many ingredients in supermarket bread is for a longer shelf life. A fresh baked bread only lasts for a couple of days, which is fine because the quality and taste is better than store bought bread. The beauty of getting fresh bread from a bakery is that bread should only have a few simple ingredients, which is not only healthier, but also tastier. There were many other breads that were freshly baked without being pre-packaged, so if I'm in the area again, I will give it another try. If it's as good as people say, I will change my review. Maybe from a business perspective this investment makes sense. But from a customer perspective, the excitement of finally having this bakery in the neighborhood quickly turns into frustration. I wanted to become a regular customer, but every visit feels unnecessarily inconvenient. The products deserve better than the experience surrounding them.
